The worst customer service in existence. I called South China, curious of what the lunch special included. The woman on the phone replied, screaming, «LUNCHSPECIALISLUNCHSPECIAL». Aside from the terrible service, the place looks like a complete dump, I do not recommend eating in, around, or anywhere near the location. The food isn’t bad, but the lunch special includes an obscene amount of fried rice which tastes like grease. If I never ate here again, it would be too soon.

This place is the best in the area. They are cheap and wonderful. The meat is always moist and never overcooked. They are timely for the quality of food. I love this place.

Very good cuisine, above average. Ridiculously huge lunch specials! I am a glutton and I have trouble finishing it. You will get your money’s worth.

Well it’s official. Hands down the worst Chinese food I have had to date. I think I might have just accidentally consumed dog. Vomit.

Best Chinese Food around Arlington Heights!!! rThis is my favorite Chinese take-out restaurant! The food comes out hot and tastes great! You also get a great amount of food for the money! Everyone that I have met that works there is very friendly!

We tried South China Chop Suey(takeout only) and were pleased. I did not call ahead but it only took about 10 mins to cook the order. For less than $ 20, I was able to feed two adults two full meals. I feel South China is a cut above the average Chinese takeout, and as another reviewer mentioned, the crab rangoon is delish. As a bonus… their fortune cookies have REAL fortunes! What’s not to like about that? I haven’t won the lottery with my «lucky numbers» but I didn’t really expect to.(Update– I did play my fortune cookie numbers in the daily game for fun and won $ 2)

Crabby front counter lady acts as if she’s doing you a great favor. Nterrible rushed phone manners and very short with customers. Food is decent but we won’t be back and I won’t recommend to friends around town

One of my favorite Chinese places around. Killer egg rolls, I have never had them better when they are at their best and when they are not they are still really good. Sweet and sour chicken is fantastic. I also like the lo mein, but I am not the biggest fan of their fried rice. Pot stickers are amazing and the sauce with them is unbeatable(it’s made in house). Beef chop suey is really good too. Crab ragoon, when they are on their A game is out of this world, but unfortunately when they are on their B game it’s just ok. I would give this place a full five stars but it is not the most consistent. There are times when it is out of this world great and other times when it is just good.

South China recently [essentially] catered my Mom’s surprise party and did an amazing job. Though they aren’t caterers, we ordered a ton of food for the event to serve as one of our food stations. We called ahead to place our order to be sure to have it when we needed and it was both delicious and prompt. Best $ 115 spent. We live a block away, and SC is our go-to for Chinese food. I have to give them my vote for best egg rolls in town. I enjoy meat, so the only dishes I don’t absolutely go crazy for are the vegeterian options… no offense vegetables, it’s not you, it’s me. They also have a very good lunch special which I forget about from time to time, but then I recall the generous portion and low price and all is well in the universe. As far as values go, if I ever see a Groupon for South China I’m going to jump on it and buy one of each on the menu. In my experience with carry out restaurants, I think the smaller the better. SC is slightly tucked in but its an experience everytime to eat their food. Fortune: A good way to stay healthy is to eat more Chinese food. Lucky Numbers: 84, 72, 59, 31, 00

Yummy! I have ordered from there for 20 years. Yes some of the items have changed. I usually order the wontons(yummy) the egg rolls(these are awesome) and the shrimp with pea pods(super yummy). I have had their chicken lo mein and it is wonderful. I did not like the pork lo mein though but that may be just my taste. I like this place. I think it is a good place to go for tons of food for a reasonable price. I ordered a whole bag of food and it was only $ 20! I was shocked. I will for sure order from here when I am visiting my folks.

UUUGH why cant things stay they way they are if they are already good? Last 2 visits here and they changed the chicken meat for the spicy chicken szechuan for the worse! It is not even edable, totally disgusting small fatty gritty peices I had to throw it out both time. I am sad to say South China Chop Suey it is over. I am breaking up with you!
