I scheduled an appointment for both a cut and color with Nick for my first appointment at Forbici, he did an excellent job with both.
As a new client Nick asked many questions to understand how I style and care for my hair, which resulted in exceptionally personalized service. At the time my hair was a less than exciting shade of brown and I had not had a cut in over a year. Nick brightened up the color with soft natural looking balayage highlights, and gave me a perfect cut, keeping the length I had with new layers added — exactly what I wanted!
I am very pleased to have a new stylist and highly recommend Nick!

I followed Nick from Thomas West Salon in The Merchandise Mart to Forbici in Arlington Heights for good reason. Nick gets to know his clients on a personal level and has the ability to envision the best results for you. Above all, his blowouts are the absolute best! My hair is thick and often times to work with, but Nick makes it all happen without a flat iron or curling iron. If you’re looking for a set stylist, ask for Nick.

I honestly haven’t been to a real salon since I started to have to pay for my own haircuts about 10 years ago! Rhonda made the experience so easy and my men’s haircut turned out fantastic. She asked how I typically styled it and even offered a new suggestion. I love the way it turned out and have been getting nothing but compliments since. Thank you so much Rhonda! I scheduled an appointment with my hair dresser Nick. He told me that he was now working at Forbici. Nick has been my hairstylist for about 12 years. He’s the most down to earth, caring, professional, helpful, and extremely talented man I’ve ever met. Every client gets that same level of attention that I do. You’re definitely missing out if you don’t go see him. He’s not your typical hair dresser!!! He truly cares about each and every client. He has a client that has been with him for over 15 years!!! He’s obviously doing something right!!!

So great! Called on the off-​chance I would be able to get a foil as a first time customer in like a half hour — they had something available due to a cancellation. So glad! April took the time to find out what I was looking for and the results are amazing. Definitely going back.

April G does amazing work! The highlights she did on me look so natural. All my friends are complimenting it. Also, she gives excellent advice for how you should and should not be treating your hair. My girlfriend started trying her tips about a month ago and now her hair look SO healthy and more voluminous .

First timer here, I was nervous. While I read the reviews, I hesitated to call to make an appointment, and opted to swing by.
I’m glad I did. This salon embodies a welcoming atmosphere with delightfully helpful and smiling staff. It was comforting, given I was booking a Brazilian (which is among the more terrifying services us ladies endure)
I was set up with Mila.
Free street parking, I nestled my car half a block away, and marched over. Bonnie greeted, checked me in and escorted me back to the spa. She offered cookies, beverages and conversation, but I declined and awaited my fate.
Mila scooped me from the waiting area into her clean room. Set me up with a general walk through and left me to self prep.
She couldn’t have been sweeter, or more comforting through the process. She’s very thorough and meticulous about the removal, while equally patient and attentive to pain levels. It was the most relaxing and comfortable Brazilian I’ve ever had.
I’m pretty sure those words don’t normally fall into the same sentence.
After all was said and done– I’m superbly happy with the results, I was assisted with a hair masque purchase before I left and the staff was AWESOME. I’m excited to have a salon so close, that I can trust with my hair (upkeep and removal!!)

I’ve been coming here for about 5 years and don’t see that changing any time soon. The entire time, I’ve gone to Gina and she’s done a wonderful job. As someone with curly hair, I was tired of stylists telling me what I could and couldn’t do with it. Gina, who has wavy/​curly hair, has never led me astray but also gives me more freedom. She colors and cuts my hair about once every four months and the color blends so well that my roots aren’t terribly obvious. I will definitely be coming here as long as Gina is around!

I’ve been going here for over 10 years. I love the relaxing shampoo prior to getting my hair cut. I worked downtown for 30 years as a CPA and needed to look my best and I was never disappointed. Easy to make appointments even after work. I retired 4 years ago and with encouragement from Lisa I now only come in to get the ends trimmed with my hair now to the middle of my back. Love it!!! Also, love the coffee, lemon water, and cookies but hardly ever have a wait long enough to enjoy these!

I wasn’t sure what to expect… But I LOVED it! I was looking for a new place to get highlights done, not many reviews talked about getting highlights here, so I went on a whim.
I would definitely come back here. The highlights turned out great and I don’t see any gray hairs (thank goodness).

My review is ONLY for massages– you must see Sharon, she is amazing!
I have been to spa’s and other places and nothing compares to her. I am to the point that even on vacations I will not get a massage done because I would rather spend the money and have Sharon do it and know I will 100% enjoy it. Her deep tissue is perfect. I am now pregnant and enjoy her prenatal massages just as much.
She is truly caring and professional, I send everyone I know to her!
Only wish Forbici would put in a shower/​steam room to use after a massage, as it would make the whole experience perfect.

I’ve been going to Forbici for years and I’ve finally found a stylist that truly cares about what I want. First couple of years I went through 3 stylists because they all quit and went elsewhere. I decided to try Forbici again and am very satisfied. Doni is easy to talk to and gives great suggestions without being pushy. My hair is impossible to brush through when it’s wet. Doni suggested ‘it’s a 10′ and a wet brush, they’re fantastic. I look forward to my appointments and the shampoo girl is awesome, she gives a mini head massage. So awesome

I definitely recommend this salon. As a guy, I’ve gone to a lot of places to find the perfect stylist. Donielle is the best and I highly recommend her! The staff is awesome and the location is easy to get to. Forbici was ranked one of the best salons in 2014 and I completely understand why. Try them out. You won’t be disappointed!

Perhaps I’m spoiled. However, going to the salon and/​or spa should feel relaxing and calm.
It’s like they have tried to cram too much into the space. It’s chaotic. The lady behind the counter was very nice and almost the only staffer I met (out of 8) that spoke English well.
The spa is in the back and the smell of hair coloring and ammonia lurks back there. Not calming lavender. The rooms are haphazard and have taken no steps to create a spa atmosphere, except dim lighting and a few candles in the secondary lobby. For the services we had done, the service itself was good. However, there were mechanical noises constantly, little to no talking about what was happening next, and I have legitimate concerns about the hygiene.
For the nail work I had done, the girl did my nails messy and then spent 20 minutes cleaning it up. Just do it cleanly in the first place!
It was ok, but nothing like I would expect or want from a salon/​spa experience.

I started going here after my long time hair stylist was hired here. My hair stylist Jen does an amazing job. She helped me transition into my first pixie hair do. I have always wanted to try a super short style but never trusted a hair stylist until I met Jen. So, if you are considering trying a drastic hair style change, I say trust Jen she will listen and be honest with you about what cuts will look best.

Need your hairs did? Go see Michelle — she is FABULOUS, hilarious, and talented. She knows her stuff, and her stuff is hair. That sounds so weird, but I’m not changing it. What.
A busy «little» salon and spa in downtown AH that offers pretty much anything you may need done to keep you cute!

I had some family in town and we came here for manicure, pedicure, and massages. They did a nice job on everything, and my sis-​in-​law was particularly impressed that the massage therapist sent her a thank you card, even though she lives in Florida.
They allowed us to have some wine that we brought in, which was nice. I’m giving it 4 stars rather than 5 because the pedicure was ridiculously priced…$ 49 I think? I will say it was the best pedicure I ever had… but I couldn’t afford to go here regularly. Also, I adored my pedi girl, but the other girl who came into the room to work with another client was super cranky and a little rude to my sis-​in-​law who was sitting in the other chair hanging out with me… because the salon owner told her to feel free to relax in the other chair until the next appt. So the rudeness seemed uncalled for.
The massages and manicure were reasonably priced I think… just the pedi was a bit outrageous.

The good: everyone is super friendly and they use excellent products. It’s a comfortable salon that offers just about every service you want.
The bad: they are priced at the higher end of the market and they push product heavily.
The ugly: Courtney took a decent chunk out of my right eyebrow… three days before my wedding. My eyebrows have a naturally good shape; all I wanted was a touch up before my special day. Two weeks later, and I’m still using a pencil.
