So sad to see they closed. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants. Best hummus and spanikopita i’ve had. You will be missed!

I’m not even a big Mediterranean fan and I liked this place. Highly highly recommend their sangria. Didn’t taste like it was much alcohol(just juice and fizz according to my taste buds) but definitely was deceived when the buzz snuck in! Great atmosphere. We went late Saturday night and it seemed pretty empty. I made my own dish — chicken souvlaki added to their lahaniki pasta. The vegetable/tomato herb sauce on that pasta is amazing. I’m not sure if it was because the souvlaki juices had run in, but the combination was really good. My friend got the XIOS sampler, but we both liked my dish better. The portions are pretty big and the entrée comes with a choice of soup/salad. The only reason why this place doesn’t get 4 stars is because of the price. If I had another sangria, maybe that wouldn’t have mattered. Seeing as I didn’t… 3.5 stars!

Possibly the best Greek food in Apex!(DISCLAIMER: It is the only Greek food I have eaten in Apex, but it is tasty enough that I have been 6 – 7 times since discovering it this winter, and I want to go back again soon!) I really do like XIOS, especially as a fancier, but not stuffy alternative to little spots like Bosphorous and La Shish that are close by in Cary. For the hubby and I the dip/spread sampler is a great way to start the meal, then move on to the lamb gyro platter which is sooo tender and flavorful, and then finally end with some house made baklava. All of this is usually washed down with a glass(or 2) of the house red wine, which is a nice easy drinking red for the right price. The baklava here is not the traditional triangle or square shape, but almost like a honey soaked, chunky walnut, crispy phyllo, eggroll and definitely one of my favorite in the triangle. It is more on the oozy, honey side of the fence than the crispy, dry types of baklava. I can’t wait until it cools off again and we can enjoy a meal on the patio!

Oddly enough, the random Tuesday night we decided to stop in for a bite, XIOS was debuting their new revamped menu. Since it was our first time visiting, I can’t really comment on the changes from the old menu, but it looked tasty. Whether it be the appetizers or mains, they pretty much cover all the greek staples and have a couple innovative dishes listed. Our waitress said that everything served(from the spanakopita to the baklava) is house made. I figured that would be the case as the service seemed to have a family quality to it, which included the manager(and owner; I think) coming by to check on what we thought of the new menu. Service with a smile for sure. The dining room is much fancier than I expected. I would be comfortable coming here dressed to the 9’s or causal(especially setting out on their nice deck in the summer time). For food, we split the spanakopita, lamb gyro which included a greek salad and roasted veggies, and the baklava. One standout was the shaved lamb that was complete with an amazing crust that can only come from the traditional spinning spit cooking method. Superb! The baklava was different than traditional in that it was made in separate pouches instead of being cut from a large sheet pan. Well, I am a believer in the new style because it was awesome and soaked in honey. The menu was very reasonably priced for the service and quality. If you moved this place from Apex to DT Raleigh, I don’t think Sitti would stand a chance.

If you want to expand your experience of Greek food beyond shaved lamb wrapped in a pita, check out Xios. This rather svelte restaurant features a solid selection of Greek dishes, including a wide selection of small plates that you eat tapas style. If you ‘re into a little spectacle with your food, try the Flaming Saganaki.(Not recommended for carry-out orders.) Xios is the real deal — all the warmth of a family run operation with the culinary chops to back it up.

I haven’t been there in a while but I remember it fondly. XIOS has a very interesting menu and most of the dishes are very good. The bar is stocked and offers some more unique choices. The atmosphere is very nice-slightly trendy but not obnoxious. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely recommend Xios as a good place for a Classy Greek meal.

I’ve had mixed experiences at Xios. Many people in Apex think this restaurant is tops, but sometimes I don’t see the appeal. For example the food has been inconsistent in the times I’ve dined here. On my initial few visits the food was excellent, but on my last visit I ordered a special fish entrée and the fish was charred and dry. I also experienced horrible service on my last visit, on a night that the restaurant wasn’t very crowded our inexperienced server simply disappeared. We had to actually get up from our table to get someone to bring us a check. Granted I haven’t visited in over a year, I keep wanting to go back and give it another shot. Recently drove by there and saw no one eating there on a Friday night and thought better of it. Is it the economy or has business plummeted for a reason?

This is the best Greek restaurant in the area. It’s more formal, sit down, more interesting dishes than say perhaps a Greek Fiesta or Neomonde. It’s a great place to take a date. There is good diversity in the dishes, items that are off the beaten path but are wonderful new adventures. The service was nice. A definite recommend. I’d give it 4.5 stars. I’ve been there several times, never been disappointed.

It’s tough to find good authentic lamb gyros and Xios has it. Haven’t really tried anything else but the gyros so that might tell you something.

I stopped in for lunch here a week or so ago, and I was very impressed overall. The restaurant is definitely one of the better«classy» Greek places in the area. The taste of both the appetizers and entrees were delicious. The highlight of my meal was definitely the Potato Psites(potatoes roasted with lemon and oregano). The service was also excellent, with our waitress being very conversational and informative. The only downside I found to the restaurant was the lack of vegetarian entrees. I could only find one on the lunch menu(although it’s quite possible that the dinner menu has some extra options). If you are a vegetarian eating at this restaurant, I would recommend ordering multiple appetizers and picking at those, as there are more veggie friendly choices on the appetizer section of the menu than the entrée section.

I have an unquenchable thirst for garlic. When others take a bite of food and say«oh my God — this is so strong. My breath is going to reek,» I say«tastes fine to me… sorry.» Xios is the magical place that introduced me to skordalia, a delicious and super-garlicky potato spread. For the first time ever, I found myself saying, «hey, I can really taste this garlic.» The entrees feature some of the best Greek food in the Triangle. I had the kota meh pasta, which was great. I also like that you can get wine here in a small carafe instead of having to order a full bottle. This comes in handy if you’re sampling Greek wine, which can be… quite strong. Xios has a variety of weekly specials — check out their website for all the details on half-price bottles of wine, brunch, and even belly dancing!

I am not a huge fan of Greek fare, but my experience here was enough to change that. The interior design is very clean and modern, while the lighting helps to keep the space seem intimate, but still allowing you to see into the kitchen, which is always a crowd favorite. The food includes all your expected Greek favorites and an nice wine selection featuring a number of Greek imports, there is a full bar, but the beer menu is limited to a few locals with a few imports thrown in for good measure. The wait staff was very helpful and don’t be afraid to ask for recommendations as everything I have had here is good. I haven’t sampled the entire menu but I haven’t found anything I don’t like yet :)

Most excellent Greek restaurant. I like getting a bunch of little appetizers, rather than an entrée, so I know lots about that instead! The spanikopita and calamarakia are amazing. The atmosphere is comfortable and sleek — so this can be both a dress up or dress down restaurant.(Also, they have many wine specials on Tuesdays). EDIT: My boyfriend took us here for New Year’s and they had a special dinner-for-two(a flat $ 75 for both of us). They served champagne and baklava but the absolute best part must have been the moussaka. OMG. I had no idea this stuff could be so good.
