The food was good, but after reading the Unilocal reviews I was expecting more. I had to wait quite a while for my food, but there was only one gentleman working at the time. Another customer was raving about how delicious their baklava was, and I enjoyed my order of hummus, and a greek salad with chicken.

My wife and I have been there twice. The first time with my mother and sister visiting from Fla. They all had the Chicken Pita with a side salad and all have agreed it was delicious. I had the Greek salad but tasted my wife’s pita and agree it was delicious both times. Will come back again and try the lamb.

I have had the chicken pita here several times and enjoyed it every time. I have had friends tell me the chicken kabob is also very good. The food is priced well, you get plenty to eat and it is a nice little place to eat. Recommended!

Just moved to Apex and tried Sultan’s for the first time on Sunday. Then back again on Tuesday for more! Both times had the Falafal and once the hummus. Both excellent. They put hummus, yogurt sauce and pepper relish on the Falafal. Going to ask for extra pepper relish next time because it’s really really good. Can’t wait to go back and try more. Great for takeout, quick and inexpensive.

Delicious Mediterranean food — best in Apex! I love the lamb kabob platters, and their baba ghannouj is some of the best I’ve ever had. There never seems to be a ton of people there, which puzzles me because they have great food at a great price. So glad to have a place like this close to where I live!

This is the best Mediterranean restaurant I have been to! My sister and I went for lunch yesterday 1⁄11. The gentleman taking the orders and preparing the food was so polite and the food was so fresh! The falafels are clearly handmade and hands down the best falafels I’ve ever had. The hummus is so fresh, the chicken was delicious… I could go on and on. Support local businesses especially ones as delicious as this!!!

We’ve been here a couple of times now and have always been happy with the food. Their tabouli is amazing and I was disappointed they were out today(we came in the evening on Sunday so no big). He did give us a nice complimentary serving of baba ghanoush to try which was tasty and smokey. I had the lamb kabob platter which was super flavorful and a tad spicy and came with a nice Greek salad(tho watery) and cucumber sauce. Hubby had the chicken rice platter with hummus and cucumber sauce which he also enjoyed(he didn’t like the sauce but that wasn’t the sauce’s fault lol). Accompanying pita bread was warm and moist and service was fast and super friendly. We tend to forget about it because of the location but we will be back!

Tasty, authentic, fresh food! A bit pricey but more worth it than not. The atmosphere could use a little help; some Mediterranean art work on the walls would be a great touch! Staff was friendly and helpful.

WARNING: Sultan’s Deli has hidden their sanitation grade behind another certificate. When I saw it peeking out, I decided to take a look. 85!!! Do you have any idea how nasty you have to be to get an 85?!? All of their crital violations are listed on Wake County’s website. My husband decided to eat his Gyro(best of luck to him) however I returned my food after taking two bites of HEAVILY salted sides. We first ate at Sultan’s Deli at the beginning of summer and the food was really good. We stopped going because the ventilation system was so poor our clothes smelled like grease. They shut down for a while so we figured we would give them another try. NEVERAGAIN. 85 sanitation grade? That’s just gross.

Great food cooked on spot. Simple Greek menu with lots of options. Do not let simple surrounding inside keep you from going. Hope it stays around and chains across street don’t close it.

So great to find a real Greek restaurant in the Cary /Apex area. If you aren’t familiar with freshly prepared Greek food, start with their Lebanese platter. The grape leaves are the best we’ve had in a while, and the wife LOVES her grape leaves. Be sure to finish it off with their fluffy, crispy Baklava! I’ve had it made fresh for us, bought it in NY, but never had any this fluffy. With this all said, they have just soft drinks and iced tea. But, is that so bad? Very clean, plenty of seating and some pretty nice folks that operate this wonderful food oasis.

I love small businesses and Mediterranean food, so I was excited to see Sultan’s Deli and even more excited to read all the great reviews here on Unilocal. My husband and I stopped by to grab some dinner to go(we live less than 5 minutes away) and we won’t be coming back. My husband got the gyro special and I got a kabob platter. The baklava looked so good and I got a piece even though it was $ 1.99, which in my mind is overpriced(I’m used to going to other Mediterranean places that sell a piece for $ 1.50). But I don’t skimp when I’m trying a new place out. It was hard to choose sides, but not because they didn’t have bad options, but because they looked like they had been sitting there for days. We waited about 15 minutes for our food to be ready as we sat at a sticky table(the place was completely empty, so we’re not sure how they didn’t have a chance to properly clean the tables up). Finally, the food itself… we weren’t impressed. The portions were very small. My $ 10.99 kabob platter only had ONE kabob in it on a bed of lettuce. My sides were grape leaves and cauliflower salad… which were just okay. My husband thought the gyro was okay, but for the price, we could’ve gotten a larger gyro with a larger(and tastier) side for less at other places. At least the baklava was just as good as I was hoping. TL;DR: I don’t think we’ll be visiting Sultan’s Deli again unless we hear from others that there’s been a significant improvement. It’d be one thing if the food was spectacular, but for the price, the portions and quality just weren’t there.

Let me say first that I always try to support the local non chain place. I just feel like it’s the right thing to do. Noo I’m not sayin’ that I don’t chow down in a Chili’s every so often. Just sayin’. I’m also a damn easy customer. See my other reviews. I’ll say this to Sultan. It’s been 4 months now. Get your sh*@ together. Stopped in for lunch at around 11:30. Looked to be the owner and an employee present. Ordered the gyro special. I pronounced it Gighrow, and not Yeedo even though it’s the correct way to pronounce it. It’s the rebel in me. It came with a choice of fries or hummus. I chose hummus. I know, the whole rebel thing made you think I would choose fries — EHHH thanks for playing. I also ordered 1 Baklava. I love Baklava. Oh yeah forgot, I’m Italian and not from the Mediterranean so I am no expert on this food. Thought that may be relevant. I didn’t get the Baklava or cup for soda. I finally asked for a cup. Ice wasn’t not working on the soda fountain. The soda out of the fountain was warm so it definitely needed ice. Warm beer I can do… have done… and will probably do again. Warm soda — nope. They said immediately said they would give me a refund. I respected that but I’d much prefer something cold to drink with my food. I’m a Boy Scout like that. You never know when you might be choking. So now we went into the negotiating phase of our meal. We replied that we would rather have something cold. They said we can grab a bottle of anything from the cooler in front of the case. Ok cool they are working with us. I like that. Cooler is warm. I mean almost hot. Their response to me when I told them this was, «Yeah, we had issues last night with the cooler». Right. Ok then. Now I’m puzzled and getting a bit hangry. He said we can try the water form the fountain. You know that little button that is right in front of the lemonade selection. That little water button, always trying to act like it’s not pert of the fountain. Anyway. we got some not so warm water from the machine. He said ice will take about 5 – 10 minutes. This is the time where you can skip to the bottom line or keep reading. Your choice. You kept reading? AWESOME. Ok so he brought over the food. Looked good. Decent amount for the money I suppose($ 10). Didn’t bring Baklava. Hummus had no pita so I asked where it is. Owner said it doesn’t come with anything that’s why it’s the special. I looked at him and asked point blank«How am I supposed to eat it?» He begrudgingly said ok I’ll get you a pita. He had the same attitude when he brought it over as if I robbed him of a $ 20 item. I’m sure his cost was .10 maybe .15. I was also a bit puzzled since he was so fast to give me a refund on the drink, which we didn’t take, but looked so disturbed at 1 piece of pita. The Gighrow(see what I did there) tasted good but the uniformed slices and shape of the meat was not what I expected. I’ve had authentic gyros. Usually meat is cut off of a large skewer. The meat is usually shaped since it’s ground but I’ve never seen 3 or more slices so uniform. Maybe it’s just me but it was a bit of a turnoff. The only thing I like uniform is boobs and butt cheeks. Wait. what? Hummus was good no doubt. Just creamy enough — good flavor. I dug it. 40 minutes later we’re done and I ask for my Baklava. I was kind of full but really curious to see what his response would be. He didn’t remember me ordering it. I was one of 3 customers in that 40 minute span. He asked if I ordered 1 or 2. I reminded him it was 1. Baklava was ok. That I’ve had also. I’ve had better but it was ok. We’re just about ready to leave, 45 minutes after arriving, and the owner came over with 2 cups of ice. Sweet… and no thanks. Getting ready to leave the owner asked a bunch of times if we wanted to bring home a bottle of juice or anything on the house. I mean he was really persistent. I almost finally said yes just because I was getting uncomfortable. Dude, we said no. I don’t want Kale flavored ice tea with pine nuts, skittles and tears of baby penguins. Kind of odd that his attitude did a 180 from the pita issue to now offering items which cost much more than pita. I’m wondering if he overheard our conversation about the place. The conversation was pretty much«Hey would you come back?» to which I responded«No.». Ok so maybe I added a bit more«color» to my response. No need to clutter up this review with those little details. Oh yeah… the ice he brought me was cold. Ya me. Don’t let my review sway you trying out. Definitely try it out. All in all I’ll give it a 2 for service and 3.5 for food. I’m telling ya I’m really weirded out at uniformly shaped food. Although I do love Pringles.

What a find in Apex! With a huge craving for some healthy Mediterranean food I was so happy to find this place on Unilocal.Next door to the Dollar Tree in Beaver Creek shopping center you’ll find this gem. This fast casual restaurant is putting out some delicious and healthy food! You can check out the front case of all their fresh salads and cold items and they also have another case for hot dishes. Gyro’s were on special today but I opted for a veggie side plate, I got to pick four items. After reading the rave reviews about the eggplant salad that was a must, and I can’t say no to the cauliflower salad, hummus, and tabbouleh filled up my to-go box and a fresh grilled pita to top it all off with. I was happy to find some tzatziki in my box as well. For $ 10 this was a lot of food, I still have ½ of it for leftovers and I’m already thinking about it. I just love this healthy food option in Apex, with a town full of chains it’s so nice to find a locally owned spot putting out some good food. I spoke with the folks behind the counter for a bit and they were very friendly they just opened up a couple of months ago. This is a perfect spot for the family to get a great dinner before a movie next door. If you are looking for some speciality food items they also have several grocery items to purchase including, olive oil, lentils, chickpeas, and more. A really authentic place indeed, don’t let the strip mall fool you. I will be visiting again very soon, thanks for the awesome food!

Decided to stop by after seeing they had opened up. Apex needed a great Mediterranean place and this filled the void. The restaurant has plenty of seating and is very clean. It could use some decorations on the walls to add some Greek feeling. They do have a big selection of authentic greek food you can buy off the shelf. Like a mini grocery store. The menu could use a few more options although it has all the essentials. I saw a couple leave because they didn’t sell rice. I couldn’t care less. There is something to please most people here. The side dishes are behind glass so you can see what you’re getting. I was recommended to try the lamb gyro and I wasn’t disappointed. It was cooked up quickly and the lettuce and tomato was just the right amount. The meat was delicious and the pita had been grilled for that awesome cripy texture. Everything was cooked just right. The tziki sauce was a little runny. I would have preferred it on the side. I would rate it a 4⁄5. I’ve had better, but it still stated good and made in house. I meant to try the baklava but will give it a go next time. Maybe they will run a promotion for free baklava sometime ;) I got my meal and a drink for $ 9. I will give this place another try very soon.

I picked food from this place and ordered few sandwiches a chicken skewer, hummus and Baklawa. I always give a new place 2nd chance so I will be back after few days just one more time to give them a chance to redeem their reputation… Good Points: Hummus was good(but came with No pita bread). Baklawa pieces were ok. Place is big Problem 1– Place smelled awful with ‘old oil smell’ that may have been used over and over again for frying Problem 2 — Both the Cooks(who more looked like a teenager boys) were NOTWEARINGGLOVES and touching meat and vegetarian items with bare hands Problem 3 –Cooks have no idea when the food will be cooked well because for my falafel they took it out — broke it apart — touched the center of it– then refried it(this is all happening without gloves) Problem 4: they took forever to make the order ready Problem 5: portion is very small for the price of items Problem 6: Other than the guy who I think is the owner no one seems familiar with register and calculated the order wrong Problem 7: First time in my life I had OILY Mediterranean food
