This is the best place for fried chicken and bbq meals. The staff is attentive and friendly. Every time I m near by, this is the first place I think of. We will come again and again.

It was our first time here, so we took a few extra minutes to look over thse menu. We were getting our food to go, and didn’t feel rushed at all. My bf and I each had the chicken & ribs combo to try this place out. I got the mild sauce, he got spicy; both were equally delicious. Mild had a nice sort of sweet bbq flavor to it, while the spicy was similar with a good kick to it. The ribs were tender as could be, and the chicken had a wonderful smoky flavor to it as well. The mac and cheese was good, but a little too much pepper for my taste, the baked beans were amazing. The greens were a tiny bit bitter, but still really good. The portions we got for the price was very good; $ 11.99 for 2 ribs, about a quarter of a chicken, 2 sides, and cornbread. Almost forgot about the cornbread; I ate my whole piece, and I don’t even like cornbread. Something about this tho, I dunno. It was moist, and not dried out, and sweet… I dunno, but it was good. We will be back for sure! This was way better than Lucille’s.

By far best fried chicken I’ve ever had! The ribs were good, and the sides were ok. Friendly people, all around good vibes. I will definitely come back for the chicken.

Good chicken and ribs, just like the name says. The corn bread for me has been hit and miss though. Some times it’s crazy good, other times not so much. I don’t like how I can’t get a drink refill on my own when I eat in. You have to wait for someone to come by to take your glass and refill it for you. Kind of annoying. I used to eat here more often, but it just doesn’t seem as comfortable as it used to be. The staff seems like they don’t want to be there.

I have the sampler plate along with an order of peach cobbler and a sweet potato pie. There is a big grill outside the door and that’s the only presence of a grill. None of the meat ever saw a grill there was no grilled meat at all. Everything the ribs the try tip the chicken the hotlink everything was done in the oven. I have pictures the ribs I could tell they had been in the oven my first clue was when I tasted a hotlink the second strongest clue was when I had a bit of the try tip. Next I tasted the chicken before I tasted the chicken I pulled off a piece of meat to smell the bone nothing no smoke no grill nothing it’s baked chicken people. My first clue that I might be in trouble was when I looked at the macaroni and cheese it was the orange powder sauce from Kraft macaroni and cheese or some box mix that was not cheese. The sweet potato pie closely resembled pumpkin pie there was no nut Meg no vanilla that was the worst sweet potato pie ever. The peach cobbler had a strange back taste to it and that was not butter there was no nutmeg and the peaches were straight from a can unseasoned. A peach cobbler should have juice but not watery geez this should be a little bit of thickness to it the crust should be a little buttery a little bit flakiness to it it’s not a pie it’s a cobbler however this was not done correctly. The baked beans, I could taste the molasses and the brown sugar but there was nothing to balance it they were just sweet beans. The greens were A miss the greens were not seasoned at all how can you even possibly put out any restaurant a collard green without proper flavor or seasoning. My first clue should have been the lack of smoke smell or barbecue smell when you walk inside the restaurant. The sauce the spicy sauce was the closest thing to barbecue the sauce that the meat was dressed in was so thin and watery and diluted they were relying on the sauce to mask the taste of the meat. If I wanted oven barbecue I could’ve done that at home. Needless to say I did not bring any to go boxes home I left that there on the table. I was polite and I put a napkin over it but majority of the food was left there.

I was told to try this place by some co-workers and was not let down. I stopped by for a togo order at 8 pm, the staff was very friendly and quick with my order. I was handed my order which was much heavier then I expected, a ton of food. The beef ribs, mac and cheese, and potato salad were all home made and delicious. The only reason I gave them 4 and not 5 stars was because the ribs were a little fatty for my preference, yes I know they are BEEF ribs. Very good service and food will definitely be back to try the tri tip and pork ribs, I hear they are good to.

We are from out of town, but I was looking for some catering for my husband’s surprise party to be held in Roseville, and a friend recommended House of Chicken & Ribs over Lucille’s. So, I looked at their website, but saw that unfortunately they are closed on Sundays. Because of the recommendation, Unilocal reviews, and great prices, I thought I’d message them to see if by chance they’d be able to accommodate my request. THEYDID! Dwight was very responsive and his team was awesome on the phone checking if they could do it and getting back to me. I picked the food up on a rainy Sunday, Dwight was there for me, even brought the food out to my car, and yes — the food was amazing. Everyone at the party kept asking where it was from. We ordered ribs, wings, corn, beans, and cornbread… and each thing was super tasty. I highly recommend, and we’ll be back next time we’re in town!

Awesome service and awesome food! The owner Dwight is super friendly and his staff are on it in terms of customer service. I tried a little of everything during my visit; the bbq chicken was tender and flavorful, the tri tip was tender and the sauce was tangy and amazing and the ribs are generously sized. The sides are also great; the cornbread is moist, the candied yams just sweet enough and the collared greens cooked perfectly. Please support this local business if you can!

Great food. The fried chicken is to die for but for some reason the owner is sarcasric and has a nasty attitude. We keep going back thinking this will change but maybe not. Man your food is good but not worth being punked for.

Very good solid bbq. Had ribs w spicy sauce which is not super hot — just spicy. ¼ chicken w mild sauce was tasty. Greens were a little bitter but also tasty. Mac and cheese and potato salad really good. My other half loved the cornbread which is very cakey kind of sweet. I prefer the heftier thicker kind but it was good stuff. Looking forward to going back and trying oh everything else. Staff was friendly. Take out was quick. Oh waaaaay better than sandra Dee’s.

I’ve gone to this place from day one when it opened, and there is nothing here that is not excellent. I like the ribs in particular, they do a better job than ANYONE, at least locally. Tender, moist, come clean off the bone… and really good sides, with choices that you can’t get at the chain places. And gratis corn bread. The people here are great. It’s family owned and run. Customer service is outstanding, and if you aren’t sure about how much or what to order for how many people, they know exactly what you’re looking for. It’s located in a god awful, out of the way place but it’s worth the trek up there to check it out. This is my go-to BBQ place in the Sacramento Valley. The chain BBQ joints could learn a lot from these people.

Let me start by saying this place has been in business at least 20 years if not more. That should tell you everything you need to know. I have had everything on the menu and it is all fantastic. You can smell the BBQ during the summer for miles away. I tried this place originally because did all the plaster work in his location originally when the strip mall was built. I went in after seeing the first two restaurants fail back in the early 90’s. Hands down best BBQ in the area. Enjoy and you’re welcome!

Let me start by saying that the customer service was AMAZING. I thought that because we ordered at the cash register we would have to pick up our food at the counter and get our drinks. Boy was I wrong! They brought us LITERALLY everything and were super attentive. They even bagged our leftovers for us. The food was awesome! I ordered a small portion of the tri tip. It had a great flavor and was really tender. On the side, I had the collard greens and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was okay, but the greens were out of this world! I went with my dad and he ordered the tri tip and potato salad. He was really happy with his entire order. I had a bite of my dad’s potato salad and it was really yummy. I’ll definitely get that as a side next time. Thanks for the great hospitality and yummy food! We can’t wait to come back!

Omg I was so impressed with this place! We called about six hours ahead of time for pickup to make sure we could reserve fried chicken and ribs. We arrived a little early, so the staff told us it would be a few more minutes. I applaud the Saturday evening staff. They were all so nice. They offered us complementary soda as we waited. Two guys who worked there also asked us if we were doing ok while we were waiting and offered to re-fill our sodas. We didn’t have to wait long, and as we were leaving, a couple of the staff members said thank you and to have a good night. I very much appreciated this. It’s too often nowadays that you are leaving an establishment and they do no say thank you or goodbye. I was a server for years and I believe in giving a fond farewell. As for the food, no joke, the ribs and fried chicken are definitely the best I have ever had! My boyfriend and I both agreed! The ribs have a ton of meat and flavor. The fried chicken is moist and has a great flavor to the batter. We live in Cameron Park but we definitely will make the trek out there again! Thank you so much, your food and staff are amazing!

Gotta say their food is the best in antelope for sure! Been coming here for years. Always the place to go for BBQ. Ribs and tri tip are on point! Came at opening time and was Lucky enough to have a sample straight off the grill from the owner. Nice juicy tender tri tip. Owner has the best hospitality. Great staff as well. Always treated like family when I go here. He been doing this for 17 years. At the shop at 5 getting the grill ready everyday. If you’re in antelope make sure you stop by. Won’t be disappointed.

One of the best BBQ places in the area. I’ve been a couple of times and always greeted with such friendly service. On one occasion the owner even came around to personally meet everyone in the restaurant! Pros: Tri tip is sliced and tender and flavorful BBQ chicken is moist and falls off the bone Fried fish– light batter and not greasy Fried chicken(both chicken wings and order of chicken) was amazing! Crispy with just the right amount of seasoning. Sides– greens, beans, Mac and cheese and yams are all highly recommended!!! Price– very reasonable for what you get Cons: Can get a little warm if it’s a hot day and you eat inside.

According to my pops, this place has been between owners before, but is now supervised by its original owner. Previously, the interior had sports jerseys and posters lining it’s walls, but now has jazz paintings and a more relaxing touch to it. I ordered the sausage link and tri-tip combo with Mac&Cheese and potato salad on the side. The sausage links were a little spicy, which gave a nice kick in contrast to the well marinated tri-tip. Gotta say I liked the tri-tip a lot! More so than the links. The Mac&Cheese and potato salad needed a little work, but the 4 stars are really a tribute to the tri-tip specifically!

Experienced this place for the first time with my family today… and when I say«experience» that’s EXACTLY what I mean! From the friendly and attentive staff to the owner who is just as amazing as his food. Hand shakes and hugs were given to many patrons, telling me this was not your average BBQ joint. Hands down best BBQ I’ve had and did I mention the yams??? Just like mom’s…BOMB! My hubby had been here in the past, but decided to swing by on our way back from Tahoe. I was wondering where the heck we were going considering we’re traveling back to SoCal and boy am I glad he did! This will definitely be an annual stop. Can’t wait!
