This is the spot to catch up with all local musicians and artists after 2AM. Of course the food is inconsistent at these hours, you’re trying to get food cooked for you at 2AM! You can’t beat the service though, you feel like you’re walking into an episode of Cheers with how familiar the place is. The servers usually let us seat ourselves and treat us like human beings instead of customers. I’ve frequented this place since I was but a wee lad and I still enjoy every visit! Late night laughter always ensues when Melania and Billy are working and there’s usually a good soup of the day or a special menu item up for your enjoyment.

It all started one Saturday evening. I was at a good friends house, havin a good time, livin life. but one thing was missing– I needed a milkshake. my friends and I drove 15 minutes to an institution very dear to my heart: double t diner. an institution I have attended for the past 9 years and attend at least once a month. I walk in, feeling the ~vibes~, glistening under the beautiful chrome and neon lights, and I order my shake. TWENTYMINUTESLATER I get my «shake». it is two scoops of vanilla ice cream covered in chocolate milk. I’m not one to complain, I hail from a family of pro chefs and have worked on food service for the majority of my young adult life, but I just had to. when I complained I was told that«they did not have mixers like McDonald’s» it was«hand mixed» OKAYWHATTHEHECKDO I LOOKLIKESOMEGIRLTHATSGONNASETTLEFOR A MICKYDEESSHAKENOTHATSWHY I DROVETODOUBLE T OKAY. She does not offer a replacement. as I wait thirty more minutes for my food – FRIESANDFRUITSALAD– I see a strawberry shake and chocolate shake making their ways to other tables. complete with whip cream and in a COMPLETELYDIFFERENTCUP. but it’s fine I’m fine. I ask for mayo. ten minutes later she tells a SEPARATE table that she already gave me mayo. at this point I have no appetite for my disgraceful cafeteria fries that cost 5.49OKAY I GETMYMICHELLEOBAMAPROVIDEDCAFETERIAFRIESANDANENTIREMEALFORTHREEDOLLARS. the food just sucked but honestly nothing compared to this service. I am no on my way back to CHICFIL A because my needs were not satisfied. I will never return

Love this place! I’m originally from NJ and am quite sad about the lack of real diners in the DC/Maryland area. Double T is really nothing special, but it is comfort food that is really tasty. I go any time I’m up in Annapolis — particularly when I’m visiting lots of people. It’s great for a large group! :)

Good diner food at a good cost and service was also good. Not great food but was good and would go back for breakfast food.

The Double T in Annapolis is one of our favorite lunch choices. They have a large selection on their menu and portions are always generous and well-prepared. Service is invariably friendly and attentive. Prices are appropriate. I usually order either a sandwich or breakfast, but their specials are usually a good choice also.

I absolutely love this diner. I’ve been here many, many times and they’re always good. I always get the turkey club triple decker with fries. I’ve had it very late at night after the bars close, during the middle of the day and even for breakfast lol Yup breakfast. They use real turkey, fresh bread, delicious bacon and the fries are always fresh, hot and delicious. If they have crab bisque, get it! Its very good and has plenty of crab meat in it as well as flavor. To be fair, I have sampled other menu items. I usually finish my girls meal when she can’t. So I can say that everything that I’ve tried here has been good. From my go to turkey club triple decker to gyros to side salads its all good. I recommend giving this location a try. If you can’t find something you like here, then you won’t find it. Their menu is as thick as a bible! The staff here is always very nice. The food comes out almost instantly and the prices are very good for the quality and portion sizes they give you. Oh and give the dessert case a look! I’m always full before getting to dessert but I will definitely try their carrot cake one of these days ;-)

This place is like a trashy ghetto Denny’s that seems likely to be a drug front. I didn’t even get a chance to try the food; I left because after being seated no one showed up to take my order for over 30 minutes and the place was giving off some really bad vibes. If you’re wondering what this place is like, all you have to do is imagine a generic trashy diner and this probably fits it to a T(pun intended). The employees all have a sketchy look to them, like they’re part of the mob or a gang, and all the waiters are practically wearing a tuxedo(strangest uniform for a diner). The entire time I was there I felt uncomfortable and unsafe. The menu is probably the largest I’ve ever seen. You can imagine practically anything and it’s probably in the book of a menu. The prices are shockingly high for what I imagine is just mediocre diner food. It honestly would probably be cheaper to take your family out to Olive Garden than this place. Like I said, no one took my order for 30 minutes, so I ended up leaving because I was worried I might get stabbed and have my wallet stolen.

Loved this place! My waitress, I believe her name was Mel, was fantastic! She was friendly, knowledgeable and generally awesome! The manager was also awesome! I’m going back for sure!

I have been to the Double T Diners in central Maryland numerous times, and the Annapolis location has proven to be the worst(ironically, I think the Ellicott City location has prepared the most palatable food, and that location has the worst average Unilocal review). Having grown up around here, the Double T was always the diner to go to, especially late night for fourth meal. I write today to express my dissatisfaction with the Annapolis Double T and to beseech other diners to patronize Denny’s or IHOP instead(or put up the cash for Miss Shirley’s). My latest experience highlights the problems at the Annapolis Double T: I arrived early afternoon when the restaurant was half-empty and was promptly forgotten about by the waiter. When I finally ordered, either the waiter or the kitchen botched my side and gave me cold, disgusting hash browns instead of french fries. My omelet was flavorless and not fully cooked(and that has been the case EVERY time). Finally, their coffee was, once again, bad; it is undoubtedly the worst diner coffee I have ever consumed.

Total disappointment. Gross food, grumpy waiter, and all around waste of money. Save your money and time by going somewhere else.

Great place as far as diners go. I’ve only ever had breakfast here but I’m never disappointed. Best omelettes around. They give you a lot for your money and service is usually quick.

Great food at a great value with a great staff. Try maryland crab soup, baklava cheesecake or spaghetti with tomato sauce and toasted thick slices of garlic bread. Wow!!! So good!!! Huge menu with lots of specials and a senior menu and 10% senior discount.

HOTDAMN this food is AMAZING! First things first, you’re going to spend forever looking through the extensive menu. I chose a the create your own pasta meal. It came with soup and bread. My husband ordered the mile-high meatloaf, which came with soup, salad and bread. While waiting for the entrees they brought our soup and bread out. They were amazing. About 30 minutes later our massive plates came out. The food was like going to grandma’s house for a meal. It was so good, but neither of us could finish our food. Only downfall is the wait if you’re in a rush. But I promise it is so worth it!

Top notch in every way, for a diner. A friendly and excellent staff serving wonderful food. And, the menu is endless. The highest recommendation for value, price, service.

You ever walk into a restaurant and were completely floored by the display? I could barely make my way over to the booth because of all the desserts in the class case. Why would you taunt someone like that? All the mini cheesecakes were enough to bring me in. They were so cute! Especially the key lime ones. It wasn’t busy at all, but after-lunchtime on a Wednesday normally isn’t busy for anyone. We were seated quickly by a very soft spoken and polite waitress. She explained all of the specials and went over the extremely detailed menu. The only other diner I’ve been to with such an impressive selection was a few miles away at the Silver Diner at Tysons Corner. At first, I was overwhelmed because I always feel as though I should try something new when I’m at a restaurant I might never go to again, but I found a familiar looking name on the menu and stuck with it. Chicken Ala Francais… or Francese. Whatever. The last time I had it was maybe six years ago when Captain’s Galley in West Haven, CT, was still in business. Drawn like a moth to a flame, I ordered it. My co-workers ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and a French dip, both with a side of fries. Not gonna lie, their food really didn’t look as exciting as mine. I was proud. lol My lunch/dinner came with a soup and salad. I ordered a Caesar salad and got the soup of the day: matzo ball! Did I tell you it was my first time trying a matzo ball? De.Lish. Why haven’t I tried them sooner? Then, the holy of all holies arrived. It reminded me of how chicken francese used to taste when I was a child. The chicken was tender, not dry and chewy. The sauce felt a little canned-like, but the flavours were all there. The lemon was juuuuust sweet enough to enhance the chicken without making it taste like a lemon bar and the egg made it the perfect consistency. Smooth and creamy with a homemade mouthfeel. I would have licked the plate clean if I didn’t care about being in public. I’m just upset that they didn’t have any spinach. Chicken francese, ala francais, whatever you call it… It’s normally served over cooked spinach, but all they had was rice with spinach in it. Don’t get me wrong, the rice was nice. Nice rice. I thought i was gonna hate it, but I ate every bit of it. The texture was like pudding that had some give to it. I was digging it. But no spinach? At all? Please? If I ever wander back through that part of Maryland again, I might just find myself swimming in a bowl of that sauce. Lemme tell you.

This is your classic late night greasy spoon and they serve everything here. Ive had the crab cakes before and this time I opted for the reuben which was tasty. Im a big fan of their matzo ball soup so if I find myself needing a late night meal this is definitely the spot. Service was quick and friendly and its not very expensive.

Not really sure what people see in this place. Yes it is a diner, yes it is family owned and operated, and yes it has a large menu. But, it lacks consistency in flavor, speed of service, and overall value. Don’t get me wrong I have had one or two nice breakfasts, but I have also had a few disasters. Just because you have a large menu doesn’t alway make you the greatest. It is about doing the little things better than others. Unfortunately, the large menu has in my opinion kept this diner from delivering an old school diner dish that is hot, flavorful, and consistent. Most of the vegetables are canned(or they have been over cooked) leaving them with no taste. I truly have wished that they would deliver a great meal, and have at time seen brilliance in a particular dish or two, but in the end the over priced menu items drive me to venture out to other options in the Annapolis area. This place is hit or miss, so if you are going to try it for the first time beware, you will have a 50:50 chance for a rewarding dinning experience.

We are new in town and I took a house full to Double T for breakfast earlier this week. First thing we noticed is a full service bar. In a diner? Second thing was the AMAZING selection of pastries and cakes. After we were seated by the most cheerful and friendly waitress ever and made our selections from a burgeoning breakfast menu, we asked to see menus for lunch and dinner — it’s HUGE with long lists of selections from burgers and sandwiches, Italian, Greek and the list goes on and on. Those aforementioned cocktails — $ 4.95 is the average price. Really? Have you ordered a cocktail at a bar lately? Ordering a whole cake is the best prices I’ve ever seen all over the country. We tried a variety of things and the portions were large, the food was hot and tasty and we will be back! They have daily specials on a white board in the front of the restaurant. It will take me a LONG time to try the long list of items that caught my eye!
