Madewell Arbor Hills

I think Madewell is a perfect store. The clothing, denim, shoes are all beautiful while simple. As the other reviewers said, the store is a little small compared to other Madewell stores and the prices are high. I don’t mind the price if it’s really something I love. I’d rather have a few awesome clothes than a ton of okay clothes.

My roommate was the one that got me really into Madewell and to be honest, I was a bit hesitant to shop there because everything is definitely more on the pricy side. However, if you’re a student, you get a 15% off discount on your purchase and if you shop the sales, there’s an additional discount as well! So at the end of the day, the prices aren’t that bad and you know you’re paying for quality clothing. Everyone at this store is pretty friendly and knowledgable about the clothing. I really like the aesthetic of Madewell and how their clothing is minimalistic but not boring. Their leather goods and shoes are all beautiful quality items. They’re definitely worth the investment in my opinion. Overall, their clothes are a bit pricier than your average store, but if you shop smart, you can get away with some pretty amazing deals.

While I like Madewell’s clothes I often find it a bit pricey given how plain it is (if I’m going to pay $$ I prefer it to be something fairly interesting) so I rarely buy an article of clothing there. What I DO, however, get really into is their accessories selection.
The jewelry is also a little on the pricier side (at least as far as retail, non bejeweled jewelry goes) but it’s of good quality. The metals aren’t gold or silver (actually, they do carry a few sterling silver pieces) but they hold up really well and are just the right kind of minimalist – not overly detailed but still very interesting to look at. I also really like their bags – again minimalist but good quality. I particularly like their italian leather totes. They also carry cute techy stuff like phone cases and ear buds and small accessories like keychains and such.
This particular shop is smallish (to be honest this is the only Madewell I’ve been to so maybe they’re all this size) and the staff isn’t overly friendly but they’re not really rude either. Just a little aloof. Which I don’t mind. I prefer to shop in peace anyway.
