The sandwiches are pretty good — fresh meats and vegetables, but they should deliver individualized condiments packets instead of «buckets» of mayonnaise, mustard and oil/vinegar(which needless to say separates and can’t be mixed!). My biggest concern is the rudeness and ineptness of the delivery. We have ordered hundreds of dollars of subs from DiBella’s and now they won’t deliver to UM Hospital — you must come down to the curb and pick up your catering order! We will not be ordering from them again!

I have loved Dibellas for a long time but my experience here was beyond expectation. After waiting in like for about 5 minutes on a Friday night during rush hour, the manager proceeded to hand out cookies to waiting customers because of the wait. Come to find out, they were short staffed. Always great subs, great price. If you want to eat quality, cheap food don’t overpay at zingermans– instead go here.

Been here a few times before. Always great, until now. The guy who took my order just left without giving my order to the cooks. I waited 20 minutes before asking where my sandwich was before they realized there was no ticket for it. So I had to reorder all over again, and when I finally did get my sandwich it was missing toppings and heavy on others. So then I had to wait another 5 minutes for my toppings to then assemble myself. I just watched one of the workers wipe down the dirty tables which was just about all of them, but he left all the seats dirty. All these seats have crumbs on them. This crew needs to get their act together. I’ll come back some day. Maybe the service will match the quality of the food by then.

Perhaps I came on a bad night. … restaurant was filthy, no clean tables. They were out of breads and bread sizes. They only had a very small selection of chips, as the rack was, almost empty. Staff was very unwelcoming. The sandwich itself was subpar. I would definitely not make a return trip with other superior options in the area.

Came here with my co-workers when I was in from out of town. Very good subs at very good prices. They are HUGE. I got the medium and I was stuffed, the small is good for lunch and the large, well — that’s 2 meals right there. The location is in a strip-mall but the inside is rather charming. You wait in line and they yell at you to come place an order and give you a number. It’s my kind of setting. I got the cowboy which was good and would love to try the other options. The filling wasn’t the star here the bread was. Dear god the bread was AWESOME. I can’t wait to come back next time I am in town for some kick-ass subs. If you are near downtown Ann Arbor you need to come check this place out.

Holy smokers this place is AMAZING! My submarine sandwich experience will never be the same. While we had to wait what seemed like forever(ok, like 15 minutes) to even order, it was well worth it. We got a large Old Fashion sub and it was a great way to begin this first experience and thank goodness we decided to split. It was MASSIVE but so flavor packed with delicious turkey, ham, salami, cheese, and homemade pickled veggies. And on whole grain bread too. WHAT!!! SO good! So full. SO excited to come back again. So you may ask, why just 4 stars? Well, not only the long wait for a seemingly not-so-dinner-rush time, but the place itself could’ve used some attention. The atmosphere is lovely and homey, yes, but every table was either dirty or sticky.

The subs here are actually excellent! At least when the order is correct or when they are not out of bread. Three visits in a row my sub was not correct. The remedy is always a free sub on my next visit which is great. I love a 2 for 1. But what i love more is my food to be correct the first time!!! This place used to be a solid 4.

It took them 40 minutes to make a sandwich. They were out of everything bread and they also messed up my order. I’m very disappointed.

I don’t know if a better sub shop exists or could exist. I cannot find a flaw in what they do at DiBella’s. It’s simply magical. But it’s not magic at work, its science. They have the best ingredients and they put them together better than anyone else. I don’t understand it, but I don’t care.

Dibellas by far makes the best quality subs around. It’s a combination of the bread baked fresh in-store every few hours, the hand sliced meats and cheeses prepped every morning and the fresh veggies. The employees are not the best, but we’re all human and make mistakes. Sometimes you will wait in line for a few minutes before someone even acknowledges that you are there. If you get a grilled sub you will most definitely be waiting a few minutes longer as well. But is it worth the wait? Absolutely! Dibellas puts all others to shame, you may get your sub faster at subway or jimmy Johns but a Dibellas sub is much better, the amount of meat and veggies and the sheer size difference makes it better value, as well as the quality that you get for $ 0.75 more. With that being said dibellas is a pretty noisy place, especially during lunch with a combination of people’s conversations along with the loud 1940s music it’s hard to hear yourself think sometimes. So if you’re looking for a quiet place to have lunch and do a little studying this is probably not the place but if you want to grab a delicious sub it is.

For the money, can’t be beat. Great service, ingredients that taste like *real* food… and A LOT of it. Are these the best sandwiches on the planet? Definitely not, but for the price, it’s a kick-ass deal. I had the GodFather and everything from the bread to the fillings was very good. The bread is not the mushy/spongy thing you’d expect from a fast food place, but something you’d get at a sit down Italian place. The meats are deli-counter quality… and the slices are thick! When people say that you can feed multiple people with a medium sub, they are not kidding, so don’t go bigger than that unless you still want to be eating it the next day.

Amazing subs. The cookies are great too. They move kind of quickly– you may see a big line when you go inside, but do not be too overwhelmed. They shuffle people through. Try the italian sub heated up. YUM!

DiBella’s is a great sandwich restaurant where you will definitely get a bang for your buck. The portions are very generous and the taste is unlike a Subway or Jimmy John’s. The bread is freshly baked every morning and do not be surprised if there is a long line during lunch hours. I personally recommend the Dagwood and Godfather. Medium subs can feed 2 people comfortably. The cookies are also really good. Definitely worth trying!

Ann Arbor has some great food options, but DiBella is truly one of my favorites. It’s located in the same plaza was Whole Foods(and Potbelly’s.) In terms of subs, would pick it over Potbelly’s every single time. My favorite is the Godfather sub. It’s a lot of Italian goodness on delicious bread. Be aware that they pick the breads themselves so it’s not always the same size. The large sub is HUGE. It’s enough for 2 people. I usually get the medium. You can get the bread toasted or non-toasted; either is great. Anyway, try it out. The cookies are good too.

I know that I’m swimming against the tide, but based on the previous reviews I was expecting a really fantastic sandwich and I was disappointed. Yes, the sub was better than Jimmy John’s or Subway, but it was more expensive and much slower. We had the Cheesesteak and the Buffalo Chicken and neither was that flavorful. It took a long time to get our sandwiches and the person who brought them to the table was pretty unfriendly.

Oh. My. Godfather. What a good sub! Meatlicious and filling. The small size(7″) was almost too much for me, but I made a special effort. The«everything» bread was chewy like a pretzel bun. The oil with Italian spices is delicious. You can load it up with veggies. I had read the Unilocal reviews that recommend getting the Godfather. Now I can’t wait to go back! You can call ahead and they’ll have your order ready for you when you arrive. So I programmed them into my phone. After becoming highly bored of Subway as a mainstay while traveling, I was all subbed out but needed a quick(late!) lunch this afternoon while out on errands. I’m so glad I remembered reading the reviews. The place is big, nicely laid out, has some variety in the offerings(if you don’t want a sub, you can get a salad + they have cookies!) and the staff was friendly and responsive.

The god father sub grilled makes me want to have this sandwich everyday! Don’t forget the hot peppers and mayo! Great fast service with fresh bread made daily in house!

LOVE Dibellas. Coming from NJ, its impossible to find a good sloppy tasty sub here. I always get the cheesesteaks and italian cold cut subs. If you love old timey music, you’ll love atmosphere! Even if you don’t, the staff are super friendly and make feel at home. Did I mention fresh baked bread?! The smells alone will intoxicate you. The best sub is the large– about 12″ full of meat veggies and cheese. I share one with a friend and we’re both full! I have no clue how Dibellas makes any money! Try this place out– you wont regret it!

I went to Potbelly sandwich shop before here and couldn’t eat more than two bites. I ditched it and drove across the parking lot DiBella’s. Sooooo much better. Love the old school vibe and bread selection. I got the Italian on Sesame bread tasty and new, the bread was a bit too hard for me though. The meat, cheese and veggies were good quality. I loved the sweet peppers. Never see that anymore. The service was very good, albeit loud and slightly disturbing. At least they take their business seriously. I ordered the small size and was left stuffed. Cant wait to try the everything bread, maybe Ill go with a hot sandwich next time. I highly recommend checking this place out.
