Really like this place. Fresh ingredients and lots of interesting options. One of my favorites is their cilantro lime sour cream. It is delicious on the beef burritos.

I am very familiar with Fighting Burrito from their downtown location which I had visited numerous times. I love their theme and their burritos are quite tasty. Now I would have to rank the taste of the burrito below Chipotle, Qdoba, and Pancheros (The big 3).
I did not notice their theme until a few times around, the names of their burritos are «fighters» or «competitors». Some people like that there are signature burritos which are made a certain way with certain ingredients, I enjoy that simplicity instead of going through every single item.
It’s a nice addition to the Ankeny food scene, but not my go-​to burrito joint in town.

I like burrito places but this one is just average. The pluses are that you get a variety of options for your tortilla and the fixings. The biggest negative is that the burrito when done is pretty small. They give pretty small portions and compared to the other burrito chains is probably one of the smallest portion wise. Overall it’s nice to try once but nothing special.
