A friend of mine brought me here he was raving how good the chicken bowls are. He said he enjoyed it so much that he was going to pay for it so I said okay here is my review. Chicken is tender with a char broiled flavor witch was quite tasty. Steamed rice was perfect & you have a choice of rice or veggies witch is very nice… Place is fast & simple especially if your a busy mom or dad… I will definitely come back if I’m in this neighborhood again. Thanks again amigo for lunch.

This place is sorry! They serve their food with hair! So watch out what you buy and what you put in your mouth. I give them 1 star just cause I had to select something if not it would let me continue but they don’t deserve not even that!!!

I found myself going to this restaurant after many failed attempts of getting the chicken bowls at Waba Grill(what’s up with all the dark meat?). I ordered the chicken bowl with all veggies and no rice; the chicken was juicy and the veggies were just right. As for the establishment itself, I feel as if it’s family owned… two kids were in the far back tables unattended so I figured their parents were in the kitchen or something. All in all, the food was filling and was well worth the try.

I came here while I waited for my phone to be fixed and it was the only thing halfway decent-looking in walking distance. The customer service here is seriously lacking. The day I came in, a girl was training another girl on how to work the counter. I walked up and was looking at the menu, and there was no workers to be found. After a minute or so, two girls walked out and stood at the counter, but didn’t say one word. I looked up, waiting to be called, and one girl just said, «Hi. Read y?» The girl presumably training the other looked at her, said, «Do you want to try?» Which the girl just shook her head and stood back. Little to no eye contact was made, I was given my receipt, and that was that. I was hoping the food would be better. I requested veggies instead of rice, which they charged extra for(?), and got basically all cabbage with a couple pieces of carrots and broccoli. Thanks? The chicken was a little try, so I had to go grab some chili sauce to help it out. When I walked up to the counter to ask what the sauces were, they said, «Uhhh…» and looked at the bottles. Umm, ok. I’ll figure it out myself. Good thing this isn’t the closest teriyaki place to me. I’d be sad.

I don’t know about the food yet, but the girl behind the counter doesn’t seem to give a crap. She’s kind of rude. And I ordered a teriyaki bowl combo wanting brown rice with it, and the price jumps a dollar and it’s no longer a combo because I wanted brown rice? That makes no since. The menu says brown rice is 30¢ more, not that if I want a combo(which includes a drink) I can’t have brown rice and if I do want it, it’s no longer a combo and the drink is now a separate part of the order. I don’t really care if the food is good, I’m not coming here again.

I had to brave the open level combat of the intersection of Harbor and the 91 freeway, with nuclear fallout-like heat, and a few zombies may have been out walking searching for change, or I don’t know what they want. I found the closest spot for food. I’m glad this was it. I’m a sucker for miso soup with any meal, and copious amounts of green onions with siracha on everything else. These guy were ready for me. Then there are options, like noodles with veggies. Most places it’s just rice with a little bit of broccoli and a carrot sliver. These guys want you to eat your veggies. I got carrots and broccoli in every bite. I will be back and I need some pals to handle this 3 bowls and 3 drinks for $ 20 deal.

Horrible knock off of flame boiler … The place was dirty and disgusting. I made a to go order on the phone and when I got there still had to wait 15 minutes on top of my phone order time. Like I told the cashier what’s the point of a phone order if it makes no difference on wait time. Will never go back and food was crap

Great food, quick accurate service and friendly as well. My favorite regular is chix bowl w/ex gr onion. Miso soup is extraordinary. 8÷28÷2015 Update… food still taste great, but quantity of chicken you get in bowl has decreased noticeably over last few visits… but price remains unchanged.

So glad that I discovered this place. I love their teriyaki sauce. They say they do not put any preservatives or MSG in their sauce whereas other teriyaki places do. I enjoyed the chicken and beef teriyaki plates, but my favorite is the galbi plate. I love the fresh veggies that come with the house plates. My friend catered from here for a party and loved it. She fed 40 people a delicious meal without having to cook. Highly recommend!

Very disappointed by the grill house. Unilocal had it at 4 stars and no where near that. I got a combo plate with all veggies, it was ok but the chicken was a little dry and the beef was chopped up like it was meat for a burrito. I ordered a la carte since I don’t drink soda and I find out later the price was more expensive then ordering it with a drink. I also asked for no rice and just veggies, all in all I spent enough to have a meal at a real sit down restaurant. Yes it was my fault for not looking at all the option surcharges so I didnt make a fuss… I should just got a burrito down the street.

As some other reviewer said on some review site: «This is what Flame Broiler use to be before they got lazy». Everything I’ve had has been delicious. The bowls, the plates and even the teriyaki tacos. They even give you a complimentary soup with every order. Let’s set the food aside for a second. Another highlight of this place is the hot Latinas the oriental owner hires. Young, cute & sexy.(If I were better looking, a few pounds lighter and a couple of years younger believe me I’d be trying to hook up homeboy! LOL). One of them even looks like my ex. Bottom line: If you wanna eat healthy while staring at some eye candy, this is the joint.

This is a tiny teriyaki bowl place and it is s great price. With two bowls under my belt I am now a fan of this place and I will encourage my friends to try it. Use the house sauce, because I did not and it needed a little extra. The rice and steamed cabbage was a great bed under the meat and veggies. This place also has vegetarian options.

Visiting the area on a work trip, came here blindly and left with my new favorite lunch spot in the area. Nothing is fried and everything is well priced. I ordered plates both times, the chicken and the beef were really awesome! The perfect char texture and flavor. My boss ordered the tacos and reported that they were also amazing. Staff is friendly and the place is casual yet very clean

Grill House is delicious and healthy. The atmosphere is very laid back and great for kids. The portions are large(for a little lady my size) and can easily be made into two meals. Loooooove that they have little to go cups for sauce and hot sauce. Prices are easy on the wallet. I definitely recommend Grill House!

Came here for lunch and it was decent. It is quite spacious restaurant but mostly two people tables. The menus consist of different variations of beef and chicken bowl. You have options for white/brown rice, noodles or fried rice.(For additional cost except white rice) If you want veggies, you have to order it. The house bowl is the most popular because its the half and half with veggies. During lunch it’s not too packed so its nice place to grab quick lunch. The wait for the food isn’t bad. The chicken wasn’t as flavorful as other teriyaki bowls I’d have. You could add more sauce if you want though. Overall this place is clean, friendly staff and decent food.

This place is a diamond in the rough. I finally decided to give it a try. I wasn’t in the mood for teriyaki, but I came in anyway. I am glad I did. The first thing you notice when you come in the door is how clean this place is. Wow… Then you look at the menu and the prices are those of your average establishments that sell teriyaki. Average. Then you get your food and you are blown away by what it looks like. After you have your first bite you realize how good this place is. This is as good as Flame Broiler before they got lazy and their food and restaurant quality went to shit I will be coming here from now on. Keep up the good work and goodluck.

I’ve tried Waba Grill and Maui Hawaiian BQQ’s chicken teriyaki bowls. In comparison, Grill House is way better. The chicken is different: it’s like char-grilled or something. it’s almost crispy on the outside from being cooked on the grill. it’s really tasty! The portions are great, and they have a lot of options. With or without veggies, add various toppings, beef, chicken, or combo… and they also have teriyaki tacos. You can get white rice, brown rice, or noodles. Price is very reasonable… about $ 6 for a standard chicken bowl. I also love their Louisiana sauce or whatever they call it to add some heat. They don’t put much teriyaki sauce on so make sure to add your own at the counter.
