Wow why didn’t I review this place earlier. The owners are amazing and incredibly knowledgeable and talented. What a gem in downtown Anaheim. Awesome place for wine and a sophisticated night out.

I love visiting Colony Wine Merchant. The owners are unpretentious and welcoming, but they are absolutely experts on the wine and beer they serve. I enjoy tasting and learning about the selection each time I go. And, I discovered the prosciutto bruschetta last night. My mouth is watering just remembering it.

Sonya and Mike do a fabulous job of making their guests feel welcome ! But a Wine Dinner– Sonya, Mike and Anthony — you out did yourselves ! I already love your wine — but the food pairings were amazing ! The Ahi Poke was a fabulous pair with the Rose ! The lamb chop with paprika and chorizo was fabulous with the Tempranillo — and then we closed the entrée selection with a Wagyu Beef Cheek with an Old Vine Zinfandel — totally amazing ! The dessert is fabulous — chocolate mousse with a twist ! AMAZING!

Great wine, beer, food, live music and customer service. Everything we’ve had here we love. Highly recommend this hidden gem of Anaheim!

I’ve been drinking more and more wine recently, and this place is such a great place to discover wine.
It takes wine seriously, but doesn’t come off as bougey or snobby. The atmosphere is warm and inviting.
Beyond great wine, they place a great attention to detail to all of their food offerings. Whatever you order is the best version of itself. We had bruschetta and charcuterie, and both of those were among the best I’ve ever had.
You gotta stop by here for some great wine and food pairings. The owner is a talented musician too!

My husband and I love wine bars and were excited to finally be able to make the trip to Anaheim to experience Colony. The service was extraordinary and is the best out of the numerous wine bars we have visited throughout California. The owners were inviting and very knowledgeable about wine. The entire place (including the restrooms) is immaculate. We did not eat or have a chance to listen to music. We will definitely go back!

This place is very cute and inviting. The owner was super personable and very helpful with the different types of wines. Everything was great. From food. Wine. And whole ambiance. I would definitely come back again

I’m not sure what to say. I have high standards. I’m easily annoyed. The owners are awesome. The food and drink is awesome. The décor and feel of the place is really nice.

Sonia and Mike are absolutely the BEST!!! They are so warm and welcoming and are absolutely passionate about what they do. If you are looking for a relaxed, reasonable and outstanding glass of wine or beer this is the place. Great for date night, great for after work get together, great for girls or guys night out. Food is good too! Recommend the cheese plate and a flight.

This afternoon we wanted to just relax and meeting up with friends. So I started checking out a wine bar in Orange County and The Colony Merchant stands out with all the reviews that I have been reading. Sure enough it didn’t fail my expectation. I live in San Fernando Valley and I tell you it’s worth my drive. Mike was a darling and the wine lists they have is great. The place is cozy, trendy and classy but not intimidating. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Mike’s singing voice is a plus in this joint. Boy he can sing… I’m not giving everything away, you should experience and visit the place. I’ll be visiting the place soon.

Enjoyed everything about Colony Wine Merchant! The very second we walked through the door we were greeted by friendly smiles and handshakes from the owners. We were casually directed to a comfy sofa positioned in front of the microphone where Mike serenaded the room with his smooth voice and guitar skills. I sunk deeper into my seat with every sip of wine. I’m a sucker for live music and Mike blew me away with his soft tone.
We ordered a bottle of Cline Cellars Pinot Gris. It was perfectly chilled. Exactly what my pallet needed on that hot summer day. We finished the evening with a glass of Malbec while briefly conversing with the owners. Felt so comfortable at CWM. No matter if you’re a regular or a first timer, I promise you will feel so welcomed and appreciated here.
Although we didn’t order food, we did take a moment to glance over the options. Trust me, next time I’ll come with an appetite.
Very thankful to now have this perfect wine bar so close to home. I see many more visits to CWM in our future.

Such a cozy spot, this husband is a talented musician and this wife is natural at hospitality and carries a unique selection of small vineyards. Beautiful grey rustic décor, and an eclectic playlist to go with the wine experience

Loved the décor of the place. Its very contemporary inside. I loved the lounge chairs and the bar area. This sounds like a review of a furniture store but no its a wine bar!
The owner and his wife were very sweet and attentive. I ordered a bottle of the cosentino red wine and 3 cheese plate. It was amazing. I would definitely come again!

Referred from another friend, my friend and I decided to try this place on a quiet late Saturday afternoon. Located in a remodeled old area of Anaheim, we found it to be quite nice and trendy.
The Colony is inviting and warm. The upholstered chairs make conversation comfortable and relaxing as you enjoy your wine. We both tried the red flights. I had the red blends and she had the flight of Pinot Noirs. All were very enjoyable. Food options are limited but tasty and from local eateries. The Hobbit pâté was delicious and my friend said the same about her panini caprese sandwich. Service was excellent.
We will definitely be going back to enjoy more wine. Wine tasting selections change weekly. This place is great for a small group or couples and would even be a nice place to go on a date.

I went in for the Plumpjack Wine tasting. They had a really nice beer selection too, 4 on tap, lots of good bottles, and of course, an incredible selection of wines. 5 cheese plate was delicious, as were the panninis, and the presentation of both exquisite!
Really liked the space and décor. Almost like being in a living room, sipping wine with your friends.

Alright my review is on the service. I have not done the tastings… yet. my first visit I was helped by Mike who gave me time to look around and read the hand written cards on the bottles.
I let him know I liked sweet wine and he directed me to that section. My purchase was of a pink wine that just so happened to not be sweet but dry. Therefore I didn’t like it but if you don’t like it take it back and they exchange it for something you do like. So I returned the wine and got the one called Sip which is so good happy with the exchange.
So basically the service is amazing and it was Mikes wife who knew exactly what I’d like. I wish I got her name but next time.

Been here many times since the opening and spent a lot of time talking with Sonia and Mike, what a great couple!
The wine bar is fabulous, the beers are is all delicious!
The seats are all very comfortable.
The bathrooms are clean and private.
Mike jams the guitar and music several times a month.
There are a couple group spaces that always look fun when people are hanging out.
There is a happy hour that will treat you to some discounted treats.
Open every day except Monday.

I truly felt like I was enjoying my glass of wine and cheese plate in the comfort of my home. Tuesday evenings are the perfect time to stop by as Mike, the owner, is playing on his guitar and Sonya, his wife, is hosting. They also have a $ 5 HH from 4−6pm but even if you miss the HH you can still treat yourself to a single pour at $ 5-​$ 11 not bad at all!

Love this gem of a place. Great wine selection, knowledgable, preps a great cheese plate. It’s cute inside with a great bar (comfy chairs) and private tables.
Perfect addition to this area. A place to come have a beer or some wine after a full day at work. If you are one of the lucky ones to live in the area… you can walk home.
A great place to pick up a gift or a bottle of romance for Valentine’s Day (eve). Sonia and Mike are the friendliest yet!
