The food here is awesome! I have always enjoyed everything I have eaten! Definitely THEBESTWINGSINTOWN. Only down fall, and the reason I didn’t put 5 stars is the prices. Expensive for everything. Everything is super fresh so it is worth it sometimes, but the I always thing back to, I can pay less for something almost as good. So if you are buying for yourself and one other person it’s perfect. But for a family of 5… Gets quite pricey!

Fries were ice cold. Buffalo Chicken Salad had one cold, very small chicken tender on it. Service was good. Stick to the pizza and wings at this place!

Went here tonight with a friend. We were Seated quickly. I got a chicken hoagie and my friend got naked chicken. We shared garlic cheese bread with sauce as an appetizer. The garlic bread was very delicious. The chicken hoagie was very good but a little dry. My friend said that her naked chicken was a little bit dry but she got a side of barbecue sauce and she said it was very good. The only complaint I would have is our server. she was very nice however very chatty and we are often waiting very long time to talk with her, request something, etc.

Overpriced but good food and beer. Staff is cool but most of the customers think they are the shit. Very ignorant and snobby.

This is one of Crosspointe Parks gateway to Happy Hour or easy access to lunch time goodness. If you have thirty I suggest calling your order into the take outside ahead of time. If you have more time try the resturant. The theme is Sports lots of sports swag and TVs with that sports bar theme. I could imagine that this is a go to for locals on the weekend. The resturant is clean and modern. And a fun open patio to enjoy the weather. The food… THECROWNROYALWINGSYUM. They also have pizza fries and other fried delites. If you order the Chicken Fingers… big portions! The TAKEOUT side is a pizzeria with the same full menu as the the bar. They cater to lunch time professionals, but the prices reflect that as well. Try it, great place to leave the office behind.

This place has gone downhill fast. To me, they’ve always been ridiculously overpriced but the food was good. Considering the location, I understood the pricing(a bit). A month ago I ordered something I frequently get, a steak taco. It was awful compared to previous times. It didn’t have any of the sauce and was just a little bit of steak and lettuce. Lettuce… something this place is notorious for over stuffing on their subs and burgers, almost to make it look bigger and better but it’s just lettuce! Anyway, remembering this the next time we ordered I got a sub and my wife got the taco. I mentioned what happened last time but she thought, maybe it was a fluke. Nope. Literally just 3 tiny, single/individual shreds of cheese on each side. She thought the tomato tasted off too, so she took all that off(tasted fine on one half of my sub, on the other half it tasted severely under-ripe. Thing is, that’s usually the case everywhere but this time of year tomatoes are fine, even at supermarkets and other fast food places). Anyway. Now the place’s inconsistency is falling off and it’s still overpriced so, one star. Sad by it but being honest. Will upload a picture or two of the tacos that lack. Also have heard from ex-employee the«Crown wings» aren’t made with crown. Hersey but worrisome.

Great pizza. Good draft beer selection. The burgers and fish fry were surprisingly very good as well. The steak/banana pepper pizza is amazing! but It is very very heavy. As a point of reference I can usually eat about 4 slices of a large pizza without being stuffed, and could only eat 1.5 slices of their specialty pizza. The price tag(almost 30 bucks for a pizza) may deter some people, but it is a huge amount of food that can easily feed 4.

Great food. Great beer selection. The had a great bottle selection and draft. We ordered a combo wing flavor and the waitress was great at accommodating it. I like how the bar area is a little separate from the food area but still felt open. Easy parking. Easy to find. The waitress was perfect! Thoroughly enjoyed!

We ate here last night and the food was great. The service was great as well. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was because if you have a bigger party(ours was 6), the place is pretty small to begin with and it is harder for them to accommodate bigger parties. They really only have a couple tables to do so. But everything else was great. We had the pizza fries as an appetizer and for dinner I had a Stinger sub(steak and chicken fingers). This wasn’t our first time here. I’ve had their burgers and they are very good as well. I highly recommend this restaurant and we will be back. They also have a pretty big beer selection…

WHAT A PIZZA Amherst Pizza and Ale House dishes up one hell-of-a-pizza. Normally, good pizza for me is so irresistible that my body goes into overdrive and the pizza can’t quench my ungodly craving to consume it, but Amherst is the most satisfying pizza you’ll eat this week… I promise. With most pizzas, the pepperoni to sauce to cheese ratio is a meager 1: 3: 4, but Amherst’s pizza is a whopping 5: 2: 106(I obviously don’t understand ratios that well)! There is a molten layer of cheese on top which re-solidifies and is thick enough to eat with a fork if you wanted to, but why would you want to? Take a bite with your teeth and take in that tangy sauce, crispy pepperonis and chewy, crusty dough with it. I feel strongly that the only complaint you may have is that Amherst’ pizza is very pricey by comparison(a sheet pizza with cheese and pep goes for $ 32.87 plus tax). But if I told you that you could trade your useless, dirty dollar bills — which can’t be used as a vehicle for spicy pepperonis and enough cheese to put you into a coma — for a slice of Amherst pizza that CAN be used in such a fashion, wouldn’t you agree that’s a fair trade off?

I live close by Amherst Ale House and every time i pass by it is always packed! This place has a large menu with something for everyone on it! they have won countless awards for many items on their menu as well. I will say it is a bit more expensive than i would like it to be for a «pizza joint» but the food is great and I’ve never eaten anything bad here. They do have a large bar with countless beers on tap. There are many TV’s inside as well making this a great place to go and watch a sports game. They do offer take out as well, i’ve never had to wait a substantial amount of time for anything, Their subs are large, i always get the stinger and its amazing, i have also had the stuffed banana pepper pizza and that was also amazing! I will continue to come here and recommend it for people who are looking to try a new place.

Stopped in here after the Slow Roll Buffalo. Although the prices are fairly high on some menu items, they are on point with others and everything I ordered was delicious, right down to the kaiser roll that my Chicken Finger Parm sub was prepared on. Much to my surprise as well, and in traditional fashion I also ordered a side of blue cheese to dip my fries in, which happens to be made in house! And even better, it was delicious! Okay, maybe not on par with Rooties, but it was definitely worth the order. Outside of the food, the service was fantastic, speedy and the waitress was so on top of drink orders that her actions were reminiscent of the Butler in the Adam Sandler movie, where he returns to school. Overall I would vote against going out of the way to eat here again, but if we happened to be driving by and needed a spot to eat, I would certainly return.

Met a friend here for wings and beer. Great beer selection from many local breweries. Beer prices are a touch higher than some places($ 5 range) but at least you’re not drinking watered down bud light or something. Also, important to note that the beer was served very cold. The keg cooler is right by the bar and they clean all the lines out regularly. For the wings: a must get are the Crown Royal BBQ wings which get tossed on the grill carmelizing the Sauce and making them even crispier on the outside. Normal wings use Frank and are on par with any respectable Buffalo wing place. You should try it!

Soup was okay — a little bit on the cold side but at least it wasn’t microwaved. TVs everywhere you look made it uncomfortable to dine. It was too noisy. The service left MUCH to be desired. Snippy bitch waitress got order wrong but that was apparently my problem. Manager didn’t want to correct the situation either — probably because we only had small orders. We won’t return and spend money at this restaurant ever. Their loss.

I had my first stinger here and their waffle fries. Amazing. I had the stinger with just blue cheese and no onion and it came on a toasted bun. It was a half sub and it was huge. I had to cut it in half. We also had the Mac and cheese bites. Those were a little more generic. Just kind of small and fried. The waffle fries though. Delicious!

This is only a review of the Pizza take-out half the business. I’ve been looking for a new local place to get food from after I completely gave up on Bocce Club Pizza on Hopkins. I started out by giving some of their wing flavors a try. So far I’ve tried the Char-Pit BBQ, Cajun Hot, Hot, and Jamacian(that’s how they spell it on the menu) Jerk. There is an additional charge for«special flavor» orders. All were pretty good, although I’ve had better Jamaican Jerk wings at other places around town. The wings themselves were cooked pretty well but not as crispy as I would have liked. I have also taken out a medium pizza, and I went with simple green olive and pepperoni traditional toppings. The pizza was cooked to perfection, a medium-thin thickness and crispy crust. They didn’t skimp on the toppings, it was loaded with both. As an appetizer I have given the garlic bread with cheese a try. It was light on the garlic, but i found this to my liking. Sometimes the garlic is so overpowering or not present at all, that you wish they did something middle-of-the-road, well, this place does. It comes with a side of red sauce for dipping. The location is off N. French road, just past Millersport Hwy. They share a private lot with other places in the plaza, and the restaurant side of their business can take up a lot of the parking. Thankfully they have two 5-min parking pick-up only spots. One is across from the door and the other is a handicap spot right in front. As you enter through the main door, turn left for the take-out portion of their business. There is a small counter here and an open kitchen. This inside area is small, and waiting with a group can get uncomfortable. You can buy drinks for take-out from the cooler here. They accept cash and credit cards. The staff has always been friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I once had to wait 5 minutes for my food and they apologized(5 min was hardly a big deal at all!). In comparison, I’ve spent 30 minutes hearing excuses at Bocce’s who then hand me a pizza that is 100% not what I ordered. In a battle, Amherst Pizza has won every time(so far). You can get their full menu online. It is a PDF, so it opens great on Mobile devices. Anything you can order from the restaurant, you can get from the take-out half of the business. This means a lot of great food that regular pizza/wing places just don’t offer(Burgers, wraps, sandwitches, etc). Prices are comparable to other places in the area with a higher quality of food and service. I’m glad I started getting food from here. They are very close to home which makes them super convenient and the food has been great.

I can’t wait to try more of the pizzas and beer I will for sure be back!

Jerk Wings??? False Advertising!!! We’ve eaten the Crown Royal BBQ wings on the past and they were quite good — this time we ordered Jerk, at least what we thought was jerk. The wings we received were so sweet and sugary I couldn’t even finish the 2nd one. I called thinking there had been a mistake with our order and the guy told me, «That’s Jerk. Jamaican Jerk is sweet. It has teriyaki and soy sauce.» What!!! The only Jamaica I know of is in the West Indes. The only Jamaican Jerk I know of consists primarily of allspice and scotch bonnet peppers with some nutmeg, salt & pepper, scallions, and thyme. The jerk wins were the absolute WORST I’ve ever eaten. EVER. The poor customer service(when I called) and the overly cheesy pizza pushed this review to be one star.

First time here. Cool place. I actually forgot I was in a strip mall for a minute, which is not easy to do. My Knuckle steak sandwich was super tender and delicious. The wings we got were also tasty. The taco salad my gal got was huge and tasty. Service was great. Prices were good. The only thing keeping me from a 5 star rating is that the draft beer selection, while decently sized(20 taps), didn’t have a lot of choices that I cared for. Of the 20 taps, 5 were fruit beers, 3 were IPA’s, then there was Coors, Miller, and Molson, which left Sam, Guinness, and a couple other nice choices. I know I sound picky, but if you’re going to have«ale house» in the name, I’m going to hold you to a higher beer standard. Overall though, I can see return visits in our future.

EXTREMERIPOFF. Only place in the universe with a 3-piece single order of «the best» fingers, by any means not even close and a 9 wing single order. You can find the same wings and fingers cheaper and better at multiple places in buffalo since they all get Tyson fingers and 95% get the same wings. Their pizza is 3⁄10 and I’ve eaten a lot of pizza. Eat at your own risk at this tiny overpriced place Owner is greedy and don’t care about taking your $$$. Lots of it.

I come to the ale house every now and then and only every now and then for multiple reasons. First off the beer selection is good however the prices are CRAZY high on most craft beers. A couple pints could set you back anywhere between $ 11 – 14 dollars! Ouch! The food is great(depending on what you order) the pizza is good however a specialty large pie is $ 26. Very steep considering I’m a pizza guru and could go to nearby pizzerias and get an awesome pizza for much less money. The subs are a good choice, chicken finger in particular is a house favorite here! The salads are enormous! Probably the best bang for the buck and for the meat lovers, they have salads for us here. Pittsburgh is a great choice. Dinner for 2 at the ale house with drinks can set you back $ 60 plus. Now you see why I only come here every now and then.

Went here for a business meet/lunch near UB North and couldn’t anticipate pub fare in Amherst to be all that great. Boy, was I in for a surprise. It was better than I could have imagined. There are plenty of choices in the sandwich menu, and if that doesnt strike your fancy then of course there are always burgers to be had. Enjoy it with a pint, so long as you’re off-duty haha. Had the Oh Marie! with chips. Great sandwich. Great atmosphere. I will return.

I’ve tried to give the Ale House a few chances at making me happy, to no avail. If you’re on your way downtown or to somewhere more youthful, I’d say this is a great place to start your night. But it’s either extremely empty or very crowded with an older crowd. The music is usually too loud, adding to the chaos of a crowded night or else taking away from the ambiance of a quiet night. My recommendation to management is to put something«jazzy» on in the background until the live music venue arrives. I’ve had appetizers here on occasion and usually feel uncomfortably full from them. Potato skins will leave you feeling full and greasy –I attempted to dab off some of the grease but went thru 3 napkins before I gave up. I did, however order a chicken quesadilla that wasn’t bad at all. Far too large, though, to be an appetizer, unless you plan on sharing it with a table full of friends. Bar service is hit or miss. There are a few bartenders who are attentive and helpful in suggesting a beer. Majority of the time, however, I’ve experienced some unnecessary attitude and an all too familiar I’d-rather-not-be-here demeanor. I asked one of the bartenders to take a picture of my friend and I during a down period as she was walking by. She haughtily agreed, only to snatch my phone from me and then practically throw it on the bar rather than handing it back to me! I don’t like leaving totally negative feedback so I’ll go ahead and say that parking is very convenient. There are always plenty of spaces with a fairly short walk to the restaurant and plenty of parking lot lighting. With so many other local joints in the neighborhood gaining popularity among the younger crowd, I’d rather not come back here anytime soon until the service and the food improves.

Amazing! Hot pepper pizza and crown royal charred wings!!! Lets just say I understand why these items are award winners! Amazing amazing amazing! The wings were good and I would order them again, but the pizza was the real shinning star. It had fresh ingredients, was hot but still flavorful and the sausage was incredible! If you don’t like spicy things this isn’t for you, but on a cold rainy evening there is no better meal in buffalo! I few beers from their extensive selection and a great pizza that you can’t find elsewhere! This place gets real crowded so get there at five on weekends. Order some beers and great food and enjoy the evening!

Very temped to give this joint 1 star but then I remind myself what this place really is; A «Pizza» and«Ale House.» I can’t go expecting top quality food or highly knowledgable servers. With that in the back of mind, I am able to give a solid 3 stars. Came in with two friends around 7 on a Friday night. The bar area was busy and the dining area was about ½ full. There were only tables to seat parties of two or six so when a hostess did finally come by the front door, she had to check with a manager to see if she would be able to accommodate the 3 of us at a larger table. About five minutes later she came back and said it would be no problem. WOOHOO. Great beer selection. Tons of breweries including: Sam Adams, Southern Tier, Samuel Smith, DogFish and Victory, just to name some of my favorites. My friend has Celiac Disease so she was pleasantly surprised to see they offered Gluten Free beer! She was also pumped because she figured if they suited people who were gluten free in the alcohol aspect they must have some gluten free items on the food menu. Wrong. They have an array of appetizers, your typical sports bar selection: mozzarella sticks, fried cheese balls, garlic bread, loaded fries, stuffed banana peppers, etc. Build your own pizza option, tons of salads, wraps, wings and sandwiches. My friend with celiacs asked the waitress if anything on the menu could be made gluten free. Now I understand a server not having the mind of a «foodie» but in the case of popular food allergies such as, peanut allergies, gluten allergies, dairy etc. I personally think they should have a little bit of knowledge about what they can offer. Our waitress was pretty ignorant in the sense that she said, «No, there’s nothing. Probably just lettuce.» Yikes, not really what we wanted to hear. I scanned the menu quickly and took note of a few things I thought could be made gluten free. I asked if the nachos were made with corn chips she said she didn’t think so. My friend politely asked her to check and our waitress who was clearly aggravated headed into the back. She came back and told us no they weren’t. I know that there were items that could be made gluten free such as, grilled chicken, vegetables, salads etc. Our waitress simply didn’t have the patience to help us out on a Friday night around 8. She went with loaded fries. Nothing to em. My friend got a chicken finger wrap that she enjoyed and I got a Veggie Wrap and subbed a salad instead of the chips for an extra 2 bucks. The menu said my wrap would include, zucchini, squash, red peppers onions, pesto and garlic. In reality, I got a wrap filled with cheese, lettuce and tomato with a HINT of squash and it was far from«golden brown» like the menu stated. $ 13.50 for that which was ridiculously overpriced for the quality. This place needs to keep in mind they are a sports bar, their quality of food is not good therefore you shouldn’t be charging and arm and a leg. The service was very inattentive and it took a while to get our server’s attention for the bill. In conclusion,(I’m in college mode right now) I would say that I would come back here to drink and catch a game. I wouldn’t come back for food unless I was with a big group of people and we were sharing two of three appetizers. My advice, keep calm and remember this is a sports bar.
