Fred’s is really good and the owners are so nice! This is the place to go in Alpine for a good burger. The burgers and fries are good and I love their onion rings! It’s the only place I go to get a burger in Alpine, the only other choices are McDonald’s or Carl’s Jr. and I’m not a fan of either. Fred’s is good and definitely worth the money. I recommend it to those who haven’t tried it!

Food was good but when we said we were going to be dinning in and watching t.v. the cashier turn the station to a Mexican chanel. That was very rude and racist, nor sure I’ll be eating here again because of it. Even the cook came out into the dinning area and made a comment about watching a Mexican statiin.

Small burger joint located on Alpine Blvd. where you have the choice to dine-in or drive-thru. Inside is decorated like a 50’s diner. It was very clean inside with 7 tables for seating. There is also some seating outside. I had ordered the patty melt and it had a good flavor but it was way too greasy! Made me feel kinda sick halfway thru. Crinkle cut fries were good and not greasy at all. I also had a chocolate peanut butter shake that was probably the best I ever had. I like that they have a little serve yourself area with pickle chips, pickle spears and jalapeños! That was a bonus!

I have been coming here nearly every Friday for lunch for the past few months as I work down the street and this place rocks! From the moment I step inside to when I finish my meals they are extremely friendly and courteous. My typical order is a burger of some sort and let me tell you those things are amazing. They are always moist and juicy. In addition, while I’m not much of a shake guy my coworkers often comment how delicious the shakes are! In short, this is a great little mom and pop burger joint that’s definitely worth it :)

Small family owned business, food is great but the shakes are the best! Very nice people the banana vanilla shake is my fave! Highly recommended. Some food portions are alittle small but delious!

This place is DELICIOUS. Literally everything I have tried on that menu has been awesome, and I like that they have just a little of everything. Fred’s is one of those All American places that you just HAVE to stop for. Oh and if you are in the mood for a shake, make sure you try this place. They have so many shake flavors, but my favorite is the chocolate peanut butter. So rich and delicious! I eat here once a week. The staff is always clean and friendly. And the woman who runs the counter always remembers I like Ranch for my french fries. I don’t even have to ask for it, she lets me know it’s in the bag when she hands it to me. That kinda thing, remembering how you like your order, makes every encounter with these guys great. It’s the only place in town that I go to for burgers. Thanks for being awesome Fred’s!

Went there yesterday for lunch. I had the Patty Melt Combo. It was a messy good mess! I only have it 4 Stars because I am used to Patty Melts being made on rude with Swiss cheese. I didn’t mind the sourdough bread, but I am not a fan of American cheese… ATALL. Overall, it was pretty tasty, and I didn’t mind the mess!

Yum, yum, and yum. So greasy and filling. It’s better than most other burger places. They have delicious onion rings. It’s never that busy but it’s steady.

I just went to Freds again yesterday. It’s been way too long, but I didn’t realize it until I got there and started eating. It’s fast food plain and simple, but there’s something far better about the way Fred does than anywhere else. Not only is the food great, especially the burgers which is all I order, but the milkshakes are to die for. I recommend the peanut butter or banana milkshake, or a combo peanut butter and banana milkshake. Yum!

Bacon grilled cheese was good, but way too much bread. A grilled cheese should have more cheese than not. Customer service was decent. Quick drive thru is a plus. Their shakes and malts are phenomenal. Got a sweet tooth? It’s worth the drive. The chocolate peanut butter is perfection!

I had the junior burger and it was perfect. Liked the fries, but needed ketchup to finish them. My favorite was the banana shake. So yummy! Loved the drive thru and it was cheap. One combo and one burger for $ 12, can’t beat that!

A 50s style diner with good food and counter service. Also has a drive-through lane. The malts are wonderful! Honestly, I have never had one of their shakes because the malts are too good to pass up. I’m not a fan of seafood but everyone I’ve been to Fred’s with loves the«Surf and Turf» burger. No, you didn’t misread that! A burger topped with shrimp. For me it’s a toss up between the bacon cheeseburger(3 sizes), the patty melt, and the pastrami sandwich. Oh, don’t forget the crinkle-cut fries! You’re going to love Fred’s.

Best burgers in E. County. I personally enjoy the Half Bacon Burger w/BBQ sauce. It goes perfectly with a peanut butter shake. Other notables are the Philly Cheese Steak and believe it or not, the grilled cheese sandwich. If you make your way this far east or on your way to Phx, AZ… make this a mandatory stop.

This place is so good. Old fashioned burgers. Mind you the inside could use a face lift for sure, the food is outstanding. I get the classic quarter pounder with cheese and grilled onions. Their fries are good, onion rings are phenomenal, and the peanut butter chocolate shake is to die for. I like this place just as much if not more than in n out.

Located in Alpine, a change in scenery for lunch. Fred’s is famous for their burger but let me tell you that you have to try their fish and chips. I am being a rebel today, I didn’t order a burger nor a hot dog but instead dove in for some deep fried fish and fries. I know it’s not what the doctor ordered but you only live once(YOLO). The service size if pretty good, I had a lot of fries that I needed to be rescued. Thank goodness for Mike and Monica helping out with the fries. I didn’t share my fist, it was not bad. I may order it again next time. The cashier was super friendly and she made sure we have everything we needed. This place is a change in pace and scenery.

I stopped in Fred’s initially for a burger, but when I learned from their menu that they made patty melts, so I went that route instead. I ordered the combo for $ 7.87 with tax. I axed the fries for onions rings for no extra cost.( ) The patty melt was good. I liked the well toasted bread. It looked great and had good flavor and the toast provided a great crunch.( ) The patty melt’s beef patty, was cooked well and seasoned, the onions were cooked down well and had a nice amber color, and the cheese melted.( ) The beef had good flavor. Over all a good patty melt. The onions rings had a good golden brown fry and were lightly seasoned.( ) I was a little disappointed that they used rings with minced onions.( ) I don’t mind eating them, but I definitely prefer the rings with whole tender onions. The service was okay. The young man that rung my order up was new, so he did a little hunting and pecking, but it was no big deal. The place is definitely an old school hamburger joint, not that there is anything wrong with that. They make a good patty melt…
