I went to Taste of India for dinner(the lunch buffet seems like a great deal though) with a group & was able to sample a few different things. Their chicken dishes(with rice or naan) seem like their signature items — both the butter chicken & kaidai chicken were great. We also got biryani, which was very good & something I’d never had at an Indian place before. In general, the food was fantastic & the portions were fairly large. The mango lossi(smoothie) was an excellent way to finish off the meal. Definitely stop by Taste of India if you like Indian food!

The best place to get buffet-style Indian food at a reasonable price. Clean restaurant, open layout for comfortable experience. Highly recommend if you’re in the area for Indian-style cuisine.

Great dining experience. The chef put on a show. The Rava dosa, panneer kadai were definitely highlights. The mysore paak deserves special mention. The mango mousse, however, was the reason I went back the next morning for another serving. Can’t wait to return!

One of the best things about ‘Taste of India’ Indian cuisine is they have those northern Indian and southern Indian specialties. Most Indian restaurants in America typically have just the typical. They have idli, Dosa! They have good service, they come to your table frequently and ask what you need. They have full bar as well. Good choices of your drink!!!

Looking for an Indian buffet on Windward, we’d first stopped at Sri Krishna Vilas, only to find that location had closed. This was the next closest one. We got there right as they were turning on the OPEN sign. The space is wide open with the buffet in chaffing dishes along the left wall and a full bar with cash register at the front. We were told to sit wherever we wanted and chose a booth. Being the first in line, we got to pull the saran off some of the dishes. They had a good assortment of meat(chicken and goat) and vegetable dishes, all with good spice and flavor. I enjoyed the Gobi 65 and the okra and green bean dishes the most. They kept our plates cleared and our glasses filled. We paid at the register, and they kept that line moving as many people were leaving at the same time. A good Indian buffet choice for the area.

Outstanding Indian buffet at a reasonable price. I love the appetizers, and I like that they have fresh iceberg lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and carrot to start. The rice is always hot and fluffy. They do a great job of switching the main dishes each day, as well as introducing interesting appetizers, periodically. The bread is really fresh and tasty, and they will prepare the other type of Indian bread(forgot the name) by request. The restaurant is clean and cozy, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. For $ 10(dine in) or ~$ 6/lb.(carry out), the lunch buffet is well worth it. Come hungry.

Haven’t been back in 3 months. I’ve been gettin my indian food fix at Mint. Taste of India is like having lunch with an old friend. Its a bit of a drive, but never disappoints.

Several Indian cuisine restaurants have occupied this space over the years. Taste of India offers good food in a casual setting. I came here recently for lunch during and ate from items available on the buffet. Several of my favourites items were available. Tandoori chicken, chicken 65, chicken biryani, coconut rice, lamb curry and Gulab Jamun. For future visits, I will plan to come earlier, as when I arrived it was close to closing time for lunch however, what was available was excellent. Another detail to note is the use of plate warmers. I have not seen those in use at all Indian restaurant buffets I have visited. There is a Unilocal check-in offer for a free mango lassi with the purchase of an entrée. I was permitted to use it with the lunch buffet purchase. The mango lassi was good. Lunch buffet is $ 10. Takeway is $ 5.95/lb.

Friday night family dinner. Very wary because other than one other couple, we were the only patrons. It was strange, being that it was dinner time. We ordered from a lady who, after she took our order, never returned for the duration of the meal. We ordered two soups, asked for them mild. One was mild, the other one so spicy we couldn’t enjoy it. We ordered samosas and they were awful. We ordered butter chicken and chicken korma, both mild. The butter chicken was ok, a little heavy on the cloves. The chicken korma was super spicy and tasted awful. The service was also bad. We were the only people in the restaurant for the second half of our visit and no one came to check on us or bring us water. We had to remind them we also ordered beer. Don’t go here. Good isn’t great, service even worse. Kids hated it and we ended up having to buy them dinner elsewhere(and our kids normally like Indian food). Still looking for a good Indian spot near us. :(

Just moved to a new job in Alpharetta GA. I’m from Southern Cal, and I was hoping to find culinary diversity. Decided to try this restaurant out and I was very impressed. The Rasam soup was delightful and SPICY! I’m a fish guy and enjoyed their fish pulsu. To end my meal, the rasamalai paired with Indian coffee. I’m coming back to try their impressive selection of goat/curry dishes.

Another good Biryani place i found in atlanta area. Also the cusine is mostly south indian, andhra to be specific. I was here for dinner and ordered chicken dhum biryani which was yumm!!! Right amount of spices and has little heat to it, that is how like my biryani to be. Mirchi salan which came with it was great unlike other places who give us watery salan. I also tried masala dosa which was filled with ample amount of aalu masala. They served two chutneys which went really well with the dosa again an authentic dish. I took a ckn-65 biryani for to go, which was good but not as great as dhum biryani. Egg noodles tasted good but were too greasy. I wish them to be consistent as i will refer quite a few people who are biryani freaks.

Almost as good as Bambay Café in Brookhaven. But this is the best I’ve been to in Alpharetta. Some may think the selection is small but I think it is plenty. Plus I prefer quality/taste over quantity. Price is reasonable. I liked it so much that I got take out for the family as well, it was only 5.99 per pound.

I have been using lunch buffet in this restaurant in the past 5+ years. The services are above average. The foods are good! Recently they remove goat from their buffet. With goat, i would give it a 5-star. By the way, no wireless Internet is provided.

Tasty, Delicious and home-like Indian food. Enough-said! The food is worth every inch of the 25 mile drive from midtown. Repeat customer since 2010 — they have changed the name and décor multiple times, but the food is like always ‘Elite’.

Went here for the lunch buffet on a whim alone and it was really good! As others have said, the décor is functional rather than fancy. The butter chicken was exceptional, as was the naan. They had a sort of fried chicken dish that was absolutely wonderful. The goat wasn’t as good as I’ve had at other Indian restaurants. The eggplant curry was sweet, which I wasn’t expecting. The tikka masala was super yummy as was the veggie rice. The food in general was a lot less spicy than I’ve had at places like Swapna and for my palate that was just fine. It’s definitely being added to the rotation and I wouldn’t hesitate to go back with company or alone.

I am glad at least 4 others discovered this gem and posted ratings that Taste of India lives up to! It really is the best in this area(State Bridge/Madras Chettinaad still wins with me too but Taste of India is right there!). Great selection for $ 10. The naan was buttery! The tikka masala was spicy and flavorful. Most of the meat dishes the day I went were chicken — but I like chicken and don’t venture to goat or lamb. They had Chicken 65(but they called it Chicken Moroccan) which was very nicely spiced. Agree the décor and ambiance is more efficient/basic than warm/glamorous but I was too busy staring at my plate to take too much notice. Will definitely visit again

They have a pretty good lunch buffet. This is the best indian option for lunch on Windward pkwy. The restaurant has booths, tables, and a private room. The food selection is pretty decent. I enjoyed every dish. There was both vegetarian and meat dishes. Also had some good desert. Fresh, tasty, possbily americanized, but bottom line is that I ENJOYEDIT! I’d take anyone here for lunch. My only complaint is $ 10 — but i’ve learnt that this is the norm on Windward pkwy. Also, the food temperature was not as warm as it could be — turn up the buffet! Adding to my lunch circulation on Windward.
