I made the reservation over Unilocal and had it confirmed via email for Saturday, Aug. 15th, 2015 at 6:30 pm. When I got there, the restaurant was closed with no sign or warning. At least put a sign up! I have no idea what happened. Very disappointing.

Awful service. I sat for 12 minutes before even having my order taken. I was then told what I wanted(pasta trio) was no longer available. Really? Update your menu. It’s a piece of printer paper. I sat for another 11 minutes and walked out. Now sitting, and actually eating, at Mellow Mushroom. Never again.

First time we went there was a piece of plastic wrap in my husband’s food that he spat out. They were so nice and it was cheap so we chalked it up to a bad night and said nothing. This time I asked for a children’s spaghetti and meatballs for my two toddlers to share. I was surprised that it was big bowl when it came out, and much more surprised when the bill had it at 9.95, more than either of our entrees. When I asked Annie about it she said the children’s portion was small and the larger bowl was a better deal. I was so stunned that I did not point out the obvious that my toddlers ate only a few bites and we had half of the bowl left over. I can’t afford to go to dinner where my order is not followed and I have I pay that kind of price for toddlers who eat like birds. It is a shame, as we had hoped it would be a nice quiet, inexpensive go-to Italian place for us, but now we will not be back.

Where to begin… Staff was the shining star on an uninspiring experience.(Thanks again Derrick). Menu is way too big, and I read the description«…to perfection» on at least 3 seperate dishes). Table centerpiece looked like Uncle Sam’s 4th of July dollar store bonanza had a party. Appetizer — cheesy garlic bread w/marinara– don’t bother. The cheese was not«melted to perfection» it was not even browned, and the cheese did not produce the enjoyable melted stringy qualities I would expect. It was also a poor excuse for Italian bread as they could go to Publix and get a more authentic loaf to use. Entrée– Bland(I mean baked) ziti– pasta water wasn’t salted, the sauce was decent but lacked something like a dry red wine to cut the acidity. My biggest issue was the way it was prepared as I was expecting it to be served in a piping hot metal ramekin(served stove to table accordingly so that the ingredients could marry nicely producing the bubbly brown gooey layer of cheese«melted to perfection») instead it looked like some cheese was nuked over pasta and sauce and served on the same dish. As the plate the dish was served under was piping hot — because it was microwaved!!! Guys, the location is prime, simplify the menu, cook the food the right way and have some pride in what you are putting your name on… Although the kitchen staff all said goodbye on our way out and were super pleasant-very forgettable experience and the star is for the staff only.

My husband and I just arrived from New York and we were looking for a place to catch a quick bite and based on the reviews seen on Unilocal we chose Annie’s… Now I understand it is a Wednesday night and things are probably a little slow… Derrick was our server and he had plenty of energy and enthusiasm and he is the only reason a star is being given… oh and for the sweet tea… that was really good too. First of all multiple items on the menu were described as being baked, toasted or crisped to perfection… if your menu is telling me that then that is red flag number one. Nothing was baked, toasted or cripsed to perfection. The cheesy garlic bread lacked crunch and that stringy cheese factor was non-existent. I am pretty sure it was a sub roll cut into bite size pieces… not even real Italian bread. The entrees were bland… I don’t think salt was even added to the water to cook the pasta. The entrees come out in a salad bowl with a oil laden brradstick. I will not be coming back here.

Great $ 10.95 Sunday brunch! Not a huge selection, but covers the basics, and the food quality is very good. Brunch includes made to order eggs as well. Prices are very good. Most entrees are less than ten bucks. Lasagna is only $ 7.99! Great deal, especially since they haven’t slumped on quality.

I’ve become a fan of Monday night trivia at Annie’s Italian kitchen. The food is good, there is not a lot of opposition and so I tend to win even if I DON’T happen to know the answers to all the questions. It’s a very pleasant night out eating good pasta(they’ve got pizza, too, but I think the pasta is much better) and playing a fun game that may(well, at present, is very likely to) win a free dinner for the next game, especially if you bring friends so you can combine brains to come up with the right answers, and argue about them too. I particularly like the Alfredo chicken pasta, it’s the least expensive item(IIRC $ 6.00) on the pasta menu but the Alfredo sauce is REALLY rich and creamy, the mushrooms are luscious, and they have a pepper grinder so you can get a spray of fresh pepper to liven it up. Tasty! The service is friendly and prompt, the atmosphere is casual and they have poker on Monday nights in a side room as well, if you’re a poker fan. I’ll stick with the trivia and pasta, thankyewverymuch.

Wow! Eaten there twice this week and not disappointed. Once for lunch and tonight for dinner. For lunch, I had a meatball hoagie and pasta salad. The meatballs were very well prepared and the sandwich was perfectly toasted. Pasta salad was a perfect combination. For dinner, I tried their Mac and cheese pizza with chicken. Sounds like an unusual combination but well worth a try. Service was very good and they kept my tea full. Try it, I think you will like it.
