Quaint, affordable and customer friendly, Gino’s is everything that you want in a barber, minus the pretense of appointments and satellite TV. 1st and 2nd stars — Feels like a barber shop; operates like a barber shop My last barber — whom I won’t mention in this re umpire since there’s history between the two joints, had grown wearisome. I couldn’t get good service just by waiting. All the good barbers had gone to appointments only, which is just pure hassle. Not Gino’s. It’s first come, first served based on the sign up sheet. No one is more special than anyone else. You just have to be willing to wait if you have a preference. Fine by me. I love the quaint old school barber shop décor with the brown vinyl waiting area chairs and the black and white tile floor. I’m here now, and I couldn’t be more relaxed. Want TV? Go elsewhere. Only entertainment here is car magazines and classic rock on the radio. 3rd and 4th stars — Got my cut like I want it It took one visit to find the person to cut my hair when I visit Gino’s. I had to bounce through several barbers at my last barber shop before I could find consistency. And then THAT barber went to appointments only. And then the one after that did the same. I’m not missing anything that I got before. A great cut. A hot shave at the end of every cut. Perfect customer service. All without the pretense of being too busy. Try Geno’s. You’ll like it.

I was a customer of European Barbers for a couple of years and had TERRIFIC haircuts until one day when I went to get my customary haircut from Al. Evidently Al was in a creative mood and took my hair from its usual 3 inch length on top to ¼ inch ALL without asking my permission. Needless to say, I will never go there again. It took 4 months for my hair to grow back to its normal length. In the interim, I went from looking like a middle aged executive to a punk rocker.

Awful. I got the worst person in the place. yuryi he was so arrogant. would not let me decide for myself what I wanted for my hair. Acted as if he was doing so much without really even cutting hair. Such a shame I thought the place had so much potential I’m sure the other people there are much much better. my haircut is lopsided and looks like a 5 dollar haircut. so upsetting, treated so poorly, buy this one barber others might be good. It is a well choreograph elaborate presentation of trying to milk a big tip instead of just cutting hair. drawn out to be seemingly so complex and ridiculous.

When it comes to getting a man’s haircut, you really have just a few options. You can go to a high-end salon and get charged $ 65 or you can go to Great Clips for $ 12. For me, my hair usually looks the same coming out of the door at both places. So, I’ve been going to Great Clips for the once every 5 week trim job. Nothing fabulous, nothing horrible. Just a quick and cheap cut. Oh, I also went to Sport Clips once. It was like somebody said«Let’s take a Hooters, a sports bar and a great clips, put them in a blender and see what comes out the other side.» Gentlemen, I give you Sport Clips. So up until today, these were my options. I happened to be virtually jumping around my neighborhood on Unilocal, checking out highly rated businesses around me when I stumbled on Gino & Jackson. All I had to read were the words«hot lather shave» and«hot towel treatment» and I was on my way out the door to give it a try. When I walked in, I took one look around and thought, now this is a real barber shop. It’s not trying to pretend to be anything but a barber shop. No gimmicks, no cheesy stock photos on the walls, no corporate logos plastered on every surface. No girls in tight referee outfits trying to retain a sliver of dignity as hair stylists while men ogle their racks. Nope, just a straight-up barber shop. Within 15 seconds, a lovely woman named Aysel approached me and took me back to her chair where I had a very thorough hair cut. At Great Clips, their motto is «Get ‘em in, Get their $ 12, Get ‘em out.» It’s the quickest cut you’ll ever have, not necessarily the most flawless. At G&J, they take their time to be precise and retracing their steps 3 to 4 times to ensure there are no stragglers or missed hairs. They even trim your eyebrows and the fine hair on your ears. The best part was the hot lather shave and hot towel treatment. Once they finish your cut, they put this hot shaving cream on your neck and then carefully shave you with a straight razor. After this is done, they take a hot and steamed towel and wrap your neck head and face with it. It’s so soothing and nice to have them go the extra mile with these extra touches. Why every hair salon doesn’t do this is beyond me, because I’ll now be going to G&J for as long as I live in this area. And what’s the cost difference? They charged me $ 18 not including tip. That is so worth the price. Be sure to ask for Aysel. She’s really good at cutting hair and very sweet at the same time.

Came here on recommendation of fellow Unilocalers(thanks Nick R.). Great call! This is a very busy, old fashioned barber shop. It’s moderately upscale and they take credit cards including AMEX. Come in, sign in, and wait to get called. Solid hair cut with a warm lather neck shave. Finished up with a warm towel to the head and a dollop of gel. I’m coming back here again. Why not five stars? Because they have to demonstrate consistent quality over time to earn that from me. I’m not easy. But they’re certainly trending that way, in my book.

The best barbers around. This is the only place I will get my hair cut. I always go to Mona to get my hair cut. They take their time and care about making sure you’re happy with how it looks. They straight razor shave your sideburns and the back of your neck. You can also buy a shave if you like. I never have since I straight shave at home, but I would imagine it to be a good experience since their hair cuts are great. It works out well because I can go get my hair cut while my girlfriend goes next door for a manicure. They sell shaving brushes and shaving soaps/creams inside as well, which is highly recommended over canned goo. It’s cheaper in the long run and works better. Go for a tube of Truefitt and Hill shaving cream, the official barbers of the English Royal Family haha. The 1805 is my favorite kind. Check this place out to get a great cut. Like I said, I go to Mona. She does a great job and doesnt talk your ear off, just concentrates on your haircut. The last time I went to supercuts(about a year ago, before I found this place) the girl wouldnt stop talking about how she went in to get her wisdom tooth pulled and they pulled the wrong ones and blah blah blah… Kill me now. I was like a hostage in that chair. Gino & Jackson class it up and really make it a great place to get a cut and feel like a man. A+ all the way.

I really can’t say much about barber shops here in Atlanta, but this place is nothing like the rest, best place I’ve been to in 10 years! Ask for Kathy or Tomar, I’m sure the rest are great but that’s who I use!

I have been coming here for years and recommend this place if you are a man. This is not a fancy hair salon, this is a gentlemen’s barber shop. I lived in Europe for a good number of years and used to get crazy haircuts there. People are much more conservative with their hair here in America. One of the hairstyles I had in Europe was a nearly shaved head with lines carved in the side with a straight razor, like three Adidas stripes. When I first walked into this place, I asked who was good with a straight razor. That’s when I met Yuriy. Since then, he has been cutting my hair for years. Now that I work in the corporate world, my hairstyle is much more conservative for mainstream America. Yuriy asks how I want my haircut, but now, I just tell him that he knows what looks best. Best barber I’ve ever had.

This is a a true gentlemen’s barber shop. And if you’re looking to get a haircut from someone who just got their license last week, or from someone who cuts women’s hair, kids’ hair, men’s hair, and dog hair, you’re in the wrong place, as the good people who work here are true«barbers.» If you have the time and the means, I wholly recommend that you treat yourself to a proper shave as well. Not only will the shave be incredibly close, but your skin will feel fantastic. The whole thing is pretty relaxing, too. I was lucky enough to find Gino & Jackson when I first moved here in April 2005, and I’ve never been anywhere else for a haircut since then. Enjoy.
