Bonnie Bloom, O.D.

I would echo everything the first reviewer said. I have seen Dr. Bloom as a patient for 4 years, including one emergency and she and the staff have been excellent in every way.

I saw Dr. Bloom in early 2010 and was pleased with her service.
The staff is friendly, flexible and accommodating. The best part is the attention and care I received from Dr. Bloom. She took the time to educate me about my vision and recommendations to improve my vision. I did not feel rushed and felt she genuinely looks out for her patients. When it came time to order my contacts, I told her that I wanted to save money by ordering online. With out hesitation she proceeded to give me what I needed to place the order. This never happened at my previous eye doctors office who would frown at this idea. They overcharged me for contacts and their frames were so overpriced. Because of the attention and service I received, in March I referred a family member and they had a great experience with the doctor.

I would actually have to go with 3.5 stars I think for this one… But it wouldnt let me pick that.
I have been to Dr. Bloom once before, and was very happy with the results. She is definitely thorough, which is good. Good conversation, seems trustworthy, and today we had a good chat about work, her kids, my job, etc. So the doctor and her work as far as checking out my eyes gets 5 stars. Also, before I used her since she was on my old insurance (United Health) but they now take my new one (VSP) and handle all the claims stuff for you. Very happy about that.
The problem I had today was really with her office. I had a 3 PM appointment, which I was there just a few minutes early for. They checked me in, I updated my paperwork, and then sat down. And waited. And waited. I didnt get in to see the tech to do the normal tests for half an hour. I didnt see any other patients leave before me, and they seemed to be slow today. I know that I would have to wait some, but if I have to take off of work to go see them, the least they can do is respect my time too…
I guess the prices for the exam are OK, since my insurance picks it up Im not sure. Glasses and frames seem to be pretty steep, so you may want to get your exam done and then take your prescription elsewhere to get them made up.
All in all, I would recommend Dr. Bloom to anyone, but just make sure you have some free time on your hands.
