Stopped here for lunch with and out of town foodie friend. He liked the Minestrone soup but a little bit salty. Staff is friendly and prices are reasonable.

Came here to have a late breakfast visiting from DC. Awesome breakfast. It’s a quaint place with food that is not balanced right in terms of taste. I had the pancakes eggs and turkey bacon. Pancakes were just right. Not too sweet and overpowering. Big portions! I don’t eat a lot all at once but I sure did today.

Ordered take out, food was delivered after waiting about an hour and came cold. Meatloaf was very small portion, hard and dry and got about tablespoon of mashed potatos with cold lumpy gravy. They forgot roll! Never ever patronize them again!!!

Salty over cooked food mud. Can’t believe people still go here. Proof smokers and old people have no taste buds left. Second star is for the servers as they work their butt off and deserve better kitchen staff.

Just as advertised. A local diner with an expansive menu. Ate at 6 and the place was busy. Good salad bar. Ordered fish and chips. The fish(4 pieces) were tasty. would have given 5 but the fires were dry and tasteless. I would still recommend, sans the fries.

About two months ago, I made my first appearance here with my husband and his grandmother. They both speak highly of this place so, why not come here?! Good: 1) Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. She came back frequently to refill our coffee and ask how we were doing. 2) Cheap! 3) The food was delicious. We all enjoyed our meals. 4) The portion sizes are huge! 5) The wait time for our food was not long at all. 6) No one rushed us to leave or pay right away. They allowed us to eat at our own pace. Bad: 1) When we first got to our table, I noticed some food on the floor. 2) Some of the waitresses looked miserable. No smile, no ‘your welcome’. Overall, it was a good experience and I hope to be back soon!

This is my goto place for breakfast for years. Perkins has turned into Denny’s(including that ‘smell’ and the sticky tables) while the pines has REALLY good food, great prices and great service… unless u get Pat as ur server. She will fling ur food at you then leave u stranded waiting for ur check… which never comes so u just leave. But otherwise its the best place I know of in the area for breakfast.

Great Food, Great Service, Great Prices/Deals and AWESOMEDOWNTOEARTHHARDWORKINGTAXPAYINGOWNERS!!! To the person who gave the review about the young people working there, WHEREDOYOUEXPECTTHEMTOSTART… give me a break, at least they aren’t on a street corner selling drugs. They are there trying to earn a HONEST living and THEYARESTILLLEARNINGANDBEINGTAUGHT… cut them some slack. I love it there! My favorite is their breakfast cinnamon bun french toast omg… heaven!!! I wish you guys over there many more years of success!!!

I would like to thank Pines Diner for great customer service two nights ago we had placed an order for delivery, when the food arrived the food was all messed up as if the bag was dropped or something so we had our four dinners covered with soup and mixed in with other entrees, So I called to complain and they had the manager call me back and as he did so very promptly. Not only were they more than willing to replace the food that was damaged, he was kind enough to make it right and delivery me my entire order. I was more than pleased with everything and I will always be a happy customer of theirs and recommend them to everyone. Thank you so much! Dave R.

My fiancé picked this place out of the blue. It was near the house and a quick bite to eat. Their Maryland crab soup was a joke. Basically it was vegetable can soup with some imitation crab meat. The cajun chicken breast with bacon was pretty tasty so it compensated for the soup. The service could be better. Do not try their lemonade because it taste like water with a little drop of lemon. I will not be coming back to this place.

It’s a good little spot to grab a quick egg or pancake breakfast nothing special. Service could be a little better other than that everything is ok!!!

So, I live right around the corner from this diner and I have never been! I finally went last Sunday, and I was super disapointed. I ordered a philly cheesesteak and egg bagel. Living so close to Philadelphia, you think they would know their way around a cheesesteak. It came out, no sides included, and apparently no cheese included. I had about a dime sized amount of provelone cheese hidden somewhere inside. The worst part was the meat itself. It was literally a piece of steak ums folded in half and put in between bread. No thanks. Our table set up was pretty awkward too. It was a booth with a 12 inch divider in the middle. So I was pretty much having breakfast with some random dude. On to the next place!

One of my favorite lazy weekend breakfast spots. Homey atmosphere and pleasant and attentive servers(major kudos to Desiree, our favorite) — be prepared to wait in line at peak times on Sundays, but it is worth the wait. All in all one of the best little gems in all of Delaware County. Inexpensive, clean, and the best Habersette scrapple in the county. Go!

Great atmosphere, particularly around this time of year! The servers got the whole place singing a Christmas carol, it was awesome! The food was yummy, loved the giant chocolate chip pancakes! Only downfall was the actual location… The oober tiny strip mall space really does not do the place justice. It needs more space for both the seating and sound level to improve. But the diner itself is a solid four star establishment, if only they had a better space…

Paid $ 16 for 1 crab cake and 4 small scallops. The crab cake was all filler and the scallops were small and over cooked. To add insult to injury my baked potato was about the size of a plumb. The dinner was not worth the price. For a crab cake that’s made of nothing but filler and small, bay scallops…$ 11 — $ 12 would have been a more appropriate price for this meal. We used to go to Penn Pines diner all of the time for dinner prior to it becoming Nick & Lou’s and the food was magnificent. We hadn’t been there in several years because I moved out of town and I was shocked to see the drastic change in the quality of the seafood. I will say that I was there for lunch 2ce and it was decent. The waitresses we’ve had(3 total) have all been exceptionally nice. I’ve also noticed that business isn’t what it used to be. When the old owners had this place it was jam packed around dinner time, and quite often you’d have to wait for a table. For the price, there are definitely better options for dinner. I’d probably go back for lunch or breakfast though.

This hidden gem has become«our place» for breakfast. The food is delicious, the portions are huge, and the prices are low. Perfection. Another thing we love about this place is that they hire local high school kids, and those kids are good at their jobs. The service is fast, friendly and accurate. It is typically packed on weekends, but they turn tables over pretty quickly(somehow, without rushing patrons) so we never mind waiting. Try the french toast — it’s amazing!

Breakfast Went there for an afternoon breakfast and it was definitely above average. The service was fantastic. When I went in, I was one of 3 tables and by time I left there were about 10 filed tables and the service was constant, polite and efficient. Much better than most diners around the area. The food was about what you’d expect, nothing earth shattering special, but not disappointing either. I got a typical meal — pancakes, eggs, sausage, toast, coffee. The pancakes had a little too much vanilla extract for my taste, but if you’re a fan of that style they might be just what you want. Atmosphere — very nice. I normally don’t trust diners in strip malls, but this one is great. Feels like you’re stepping back in time while everything is still new and clean. The bathrooms could be nicer, but they weren’t dirty by any means. They seem to have very good deals on lunch and dinner so I’ll probably be checking that out next time.

This is a terrific little diner tucked away in a strip mall at the intersection of Providence and Springfield Roads in Aldan; blink and you’ll miss it! So keep an eye out for it as you’re coming down the street. This is where you come when you have a hankering for diner food. I had the chicken croquettes replete with the requisite bright-yellow chicken-flavored gravy. No complaints whatsoever with my food or the service. But I am forced to deduct a star for the lack of bright greens at the salad bar. Spinach should have had a place here, but the lettuce was a romaine/iceberg mixture, so it sufficed. Well, what can you say? I’m a health nut! A cute place. I plan on coming back.

A diner folks. And one that seems to cater to an older clientele — but that is not a bad thing at all. This is a hidden gem, who’s plain and sometimes drab appearance may overshadow the food. Simple, old favorites in large quantities. Seasoned a little mildly, a lot of their customers I suspect have salt and other restrictions, but it is still flavorful. The Yellow Gravy served iwth things is interesting, and very tasty. The prices are very reasonable. And, they deliver. Anything. It comes«deconstructed» a bit at times, but there is always enough food for two with every order. And, the family is addicted to their rice pudding. This place is a step back in time, and I hope folks remember it as a possible stop for when you’re looking for good American style food and cooking.

Wow, 4 out of 5 stars for this joint? Really?! Ugh! Had dinner there and don’t order the prime rib! It is about ½″ thin! The chicken croquettes are a joke! All filling and barely any chicken I could find. We sent that back and opted for pancakes which were excellent! The seafood sampler entrée — nothing special whatsoever! Jocelyn, the waitress, was nice enough but very slow! Never came back to offer refills till we flagged her down for one. Waited 10 minutes for A1 sauce. The salad bar had the basics. The blue cheese dressing had no flavor and the lettuce was wet which added to watering down the dressing. The other two dining have been here for breakfast and say its excellent!
