Friendly relaxing environment. Fantastic views with a very well equipped kitchen. We stayed here with my large family and it was a hit. We cannot wait to come back.

Very beautiful and spacious place to stay. It has a large and fully equipped kitchen with a fireplace. Great for family get togethers. It’s just a few minutes from downtown Mendocino.

Very impressive and stately with mid-​century charm. Perfect for a party or family reunion. Expansive space with very high ceilings, a stage, great views and a fully equipped kitchen give this former schoolhouse a lot of appeal.

My boyfriend and I attended a weekend full of great events at the Albion Schoolhouse and couldn’t have been more blown away by the beautiful setting and the fantastic venue. Approaching at night we were welcomed by a trail of soft lights leading up to the schoolhouse, which provided a great venue for dinner and dancing. The next morning, we were awe-​struck seeing the property in the daylight and we still dream about the wonderful events we plan to host at the Schoolhouse. The venue is so adaptable, whether you’re interested in a casual get-​together or a formal evening event, that everyone will find something to love at the Albion Schoolhouse.

The Albion Schoolhouse is hands-​down the coolest event venue in Northern California! This historic house is located in an idyllic location just south of Mendocino, has incredible views, and an expansive, yet cozy feel to it. There is something so magical and transportive about the space and property, that you will wonder if it really could have existed when you return to reality after your event or vacation there. There is a huge, open kitchen, a spacious dining area, a stage for entertainment, and an overall incredible flow to it. It’s the perfect place to facilitate wondrous memories. Plus, Sydney and Justine are such warm wonderful people. They constitute the epitome of good hosts. I can’t wait to have the opportunity to go back!

What a fabulous place to have a party! Located about 2 minutes south of Mendocino, this place is perfectly situated on a huge green expanse with views of the water, a great layout that allows for a comfortable flow even for large events but also has rooms for coziness. An open kitchen with modern conveniences and wood burning stove to hang out around. A deck to chat outside and even a little stage in the former assembly room for toasts or presentations. A schoolhouse built in the 1920s such a distinctive place — great for memory making. So not the typical event space. I hope I get invited to another party soon so I can hang out there again.

The Albion is a bit of heaven on the Northern coast of California. An ideal location for parties, weddings, anniversaries, and gatherings of people of any sort. There are gorgeous views of the ocean from the west facing kitchen/​dining room/​hang out space that are breathtaking. The house is elegant and extremely well designed for parties, comfort and social events. The proprietors are amazing and caring people who bring their talent for creating beauty and community to their Inn. I am coming back for sure!

I had the pleasure of attending an epic celebration here a couple of months ago. As a wedding photographer for well over a decade, I’m super attentive to how visually detailed and original locations are. It is rare for me to discover a location with so much charm and sophistication as The Albion Schoolhouse, the owners have created a truly special experience. If you are having a party and want an ultra-​charming memorable location, The Albion Schoolhouse is it!

My visit to The Albion Schoolhouse took place last fall, during an event that was held there. In a short 24 hour period of time, all of my senses were indulged. The building itself is unique in style, having previously been an actual schoolhouse. However, it has been converted, renovated and decorated in a most luxurious manner that belies the simplicity of its early years. For entertaining purposes, the flow from room to room affords an opportunity for the seamless transport of food from one end to the building to the other. The views of the pastoral fields surrounding the building and then, the roiling ocean, create a visual paradox. Although the event I attended was for the purpose of entertaining guests, I can easily imagine The Albion Schoolhouse as the perfect site for a family reunion, a family vacation home, a retreat center, a learning center, a place for a small business meeting and small to medium theatrical, musical or reading presentations. The hosts, Sydney and Justine, provide warmth, guidance, knowledge of the Mendocino community and exhibit a sincere desire to assure that each and every guest has the best Albion Schoolhouse experience possible. I suggest taking the opportunity to visit and stay at The Albion Schoolhouse and find out for yourself.

I recently attended a fabulous event at The Albion Schoolhouse. The party included a delicious sit down meal catered by a local chef, an entertaining show featuring the talented guests, and was followed by dancing the night away. As I drove up to the Schoolhouse, the natural beauty of the surrounding area immediately struck me. I was fortunate to arrive before most of the guests and was able to experience the Schoolhouse as a tranquil retreat. As guests arrived, the Albion Schoolhouse seamlessly transformed into an elegant and inviting party. Justine and Sydney have done a beautiful job with the restoration and every detail is attended to. The bedrooms, remodeled bathrooms and kitchen are all stunning. It truly is a gem. I can’t wait to visit again.

This incredible spot, with a grand view of the ocean, is the perfect place to have the perfect party! It has everything! I can’t wait to book it again!

The Albion Schoolhouse ROCKS! I was there for a party and next day follow-​up brunch. The property is incredible; open, warm and spacious. It is the perfect place for whatever you need it to be whether it is a party, a retreat, a conference or a peaceful getaway. The owners Sydney and Justine are the perfect hosts.
