We have eaten here twice in month and the food was excellent. The staff was fabulous and the wine list is listed with many local wines that are very good. Live music Friday night and many specials. Will come again soon.

I love the Ledford House, it never disappoints. The owners are lovely and always interested in making your experience pleasant. We usually take our dinners at the bar because the view is amazing and the bartender makes everyone — whether locals or visitors — comfortable. The music is just right, not too loud for conversation, but located next to a small dance floor if the spirit moves you. We have our favorites on the menu, notably the duck, the fish, the BREAD!, and all the salads.

The menu was limited, only offering for fresh fish of the day was sole, and seared ahi tuna, no shrimp, or prawns or local fish. Instead I ordered a filet mignon steak, medium to medium rare. The first steak was good sized and arrived ice cold in the middle– I sent this back and received a different steak, which was even smaller. The second steak was warmer in the middle, but still nothing but raw. I sent this back as well. I received a comp’ed glass of wine. House salad was good, but clam chowder with clams still in shells was overpriced at $ 14. Third time the steak arrived was okay [it was the second steak cooked again]. Note: I saw at least one other undercooked steak returned as well… what are the odds that so many steaks are not properly prepared… at a restaurant boasting Zagat rating stickers in the front window??? Wait staff was very in tune with customer service.

The Ledford House staff are great. We were visiting the area for our 10 th anniversary and chose the Ledford House based on the recommendation of a local. Great choice! We booked online a week ahead and received an email confirmation from the host. Once in town, I called to rescheduled for a later time, and they had commented on it being the“Anniversary reservation”. Once there, they gave us a tasty champagne treat. Very nice touch! I’ve had other restaurants completely ignore a special event request/note on a reservation. The staff was very attentive throughout the evening. It was 8pm on a January Friday, so not too crowded. The food was great and my only complaint is we ordered so much we were stuffed(it was all very tasty). They also had very nice live jazz. My wife hates jazz, and I worried it would be smooth jazz. But we were pleasantly surprised with a piano/guitar duo that played nice mellow jazz that still had some heart. Nice! Overall great experience. I’d rate the food a solid 4, but the service and atmosphere kick it up to a 5 star. Thanks for a great anniversary dinner, Ledford House!

Fantastic food. Great atmosphere. Good cocktails. Some of the best food in mendocino county right here. Was pricy, but I don’t mind paying for kick ass food.

Ledford House was the perfect spot for Thanksgiving dinner. Located just off Highway 1 in Albion, it features large windows with amazing coastal views. No matter where you’re sitting, you’re bound to catch picture perfect ocean vistas. We were fortunate enough to arrive around sunset and catch a particularly spectacular sky. The restaurant itself is cozy with white lights sparkling around the window. It was a great way to kick off the holiday season. Their Thanksgiving menu was $ 50 a person which included soup or salad, entrée and dessert. Being vegetarian, I opted for their spinach, mushroom and gruyère cheese soufflé. It was a pretty indulgent option but worth every bite. Brussels sprouts came on the side and were roasted and nice and tender & flavorful. The starter salad I had featured fresh cranberries, walnuts, apples and spring greens. Everything tasted so fresh and well prepared. My boyfriend got the traditional turkey with sides plate and he completely enjoyed it. Warm fresh bread & olives accompanied our meal as well. Service was friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming. This is really a top notch restaurant with quality which matches the price and well executed dishes. Definitely come here for your next special occasion or if you want to treat yourself to a fancy meal on the Mendocino coast.

I honestly can not rave about Ledford House enough… and my entire family(which came from the East Bay, Oklahoma and South Carolina, and we are all very«well traveled», having traveled extensively nationally & internationally) can not stop raving about it. We came on a Thursday night, with a party of 13 adults &4 kids, with reservations. Some of our party arrived approximately 15minutes prior to our rsvp & were immediately seated at our table. We ordered several appetizers to start(2 Artisanal Cheese Plates, 2 Charcuterie, 2 Goat Cheese Tart &1 Escargot Plate) and everything was absolutely perfect. I am STILL gushing about the blue cheese off of the Cheese Plate & I’m dying to know where I can order it to ship to my home across the country, and my sister, son & I shared the Escargot. You KNOW if you can get a 12 yr old to even try Escargot, it’s got to be nothing less than incredible… He LOVED it & I would’ve ordered him another plate to share with him if I had thought he still would’ve finished the rest of his dinner when it came lol. I see some people have had issues with there not being a «kid friendly» menu, but between appetizers & pasta w/butter & cheese or pasta with pesto that they offered for our children, there was no issues, and our kids are all weird/picky eaters. Our group had everything from the Mussels Provencal, Spanakopita, Cassoulet, Lamb Shank, and Steak au Poivre. I had the Mussels myself, and tried my sisters Steak & my bro-in-laws lamb and each was delicious(sisters steak was one of the largest filets I’ve ever seen, cooked to perfection & tasted devine. The portions across the board were large, but not ridiculously large, and the prices are completely reasonable when you understand that everything is fresh and most is locally grown/raised. Our wait staff was WONDERFUL, they knew the menu, described the specials, were exceptionally patient with our large group and had great personalities. Over the course of the evening, I started out my night with a Champagne cocktail(the Nymph something?) and later a girlfriend & I both had a Lemon Drop. My bro-in-law had port and several others had a Cabernet out of Ukiah(Nelson I think was the vineyard?) and so now my group can be added to the bartenders FANCLUB because our drinks were all incredible as well. In fact, days later, I ordered a lemon drop at a restaurant in Bodega & was highly disappointed because I couldn’t help but compare it to the one I had at Ledford. I’d like to give a HUGE Thank You to Tony for being a wonderful & gracious host during extraordinary circumstances… and I didn’t see Lisa in the kitchen that night(it doesn’t mean she wasn’t there, I just didn’t see her) yet ALL of our food was prepared perfectly and with the attention & care, just as if she had prepared it herself. We had been looking forward to this dinner since mid-August, and Tony, Lisa and their ‘family’ not only lived up to every expectation, but went above and beyond! Top all of that off with one of the MOSTINCREDIBLEUNSPOILEDVIEWSALONGTHECOAST and I honestly don’t think you can ever go wrong here. I’m already looking forward to our next visit and diving into that blue cheese followed by a Lemon Drop

Spent our 5th wedding anniversary dinner here and couldn’t be happier with our choice! Arrived just in time for the sunset which was gorgeous. The cheese plate, filet, duck and bread pudding were scrumptious. Thank you to the kind staff – we felt so special.

Outstandingly perched on a cliff. Perfect French food, prepared with love and originality. Example: fresh, raw oysters were topped with a little spoonful of sorbet made from tomato and horseradish. Brilliant. Prix fix menu of $ 30 each night in addition to many delicious offerings. Staff lovely. Nicely priced too. Don’t miss it.

Lovely dinner — had a salad and pepper crusted filet with a crème brûlée for dessert — the owner was so nice and greeted me by name. I found out chef is his wife — boy they make a great team! I sprained my ankle before I left phx and didn’t have it wrapped — too much wine and painful ankle made me hit the floor when I got up — totally embarrassing but they were really sweet to me! So I am giving 5 stars for this restaurant. Thanks again! I will b back!

The food is fantastic, the portions are plentiful, and the service is very friendly and attentive. The food is delicious(my filet mignon was a PERFECT medium rare, and the chocolate pudding cake a la mode with hot fudge is TODIEFOR!!), and the plating is gorgeous! Even the bread and oil with olives while you wait is excellent!

This is such a lovely place to share a meal. The location, the menu, the wine list and the service are just fantastic, and I am so glad we found our way to Ledford House on a dark, rainy night. I can only imagine how incredible it is during the sunset and warmer weather! Our meal was great. The food is thoughtfully prepared with incredible flavors and textures, and the staff is well-trained in pairings, so get yourself some wine and settle in. We did three courses of amazing — great appetizers(I had a squash gallette, my husband had a beet salad), wonderful entrees(I did their subtle yet fresh mussels, he did the incredible and fabulous steak), and sublime deserts(something chocolaty and otherworldly). So good. The atmosphere is chill but a little weird, and by weird i mean the dining room is a little outdated and slightly less intimate than most. It’s got fun murals and bright colors that don’t quite mesh with the caliber of food and service, so that’s the one component keeping me from giving it a full-on 5-start rating. Would I come here again? Absolutely, in a heartbeat, especially for a sunset.

Came here as a group of 4 for their New Year’s Eve dinner($ 85 for prix-fixe 5 course with vegetarian options) and included the $ 20 cover for the live band/dancing and a glass of champagne. The decorations were festive and the service was exceptional. The food was ok was the general consensus. I LOVED the roasted garlic. We also all agreed their olive oil is one of the best we have all had. I liked the celery root dish but the other 3 hated it. The two people who ordered the duck entrée really enjoyed it. We paid the $ 20 corkage fee for a big bottle of champagne we brought along. We got 4 full flutes for 3 people from it, so the fee was worth it over paying per glass of alcohol. After dinner we got one dance in and actually headed to our rental house for the midnight ball drop. Would love to come back during the day to see the view from the restaurant.

Very confused how this place is rated so well. Our experience was disappointing, from food to service. — Pork chop appeared to was boiled then broiled(I imagined an oversized, grizzled pale pork chop chasing me in my sleep that night) — The duck was too gamey(so glad I didn’t order that). — We sent the raw oysters back b/c the one I tasted was NOT fresh. — Rotten pieces of arugula in our salads. — Kids pasta was served in a soup of butter. — The seafood platter and escargot were so-so. — Empty plates sat in front of us too long. Fake candles on the tables(?) — Forgot that it was a birthday celebration when dessert came(icing on the cake, wa wa wa) The live music(piano and guitar) wasn’t enough to make up for it.

Another amazing meal here. I loved the lavender lemonade with gin and we all agreed the rose sorbet was the best we ever had. Bold flavors compared to some of the other local restaurants. Rich warming cassoulet, tender filet mignon were perfectly prepared. Vegan dishes by request.

We pass by this place every time we go to Mendocino, but last night was our first visit. The restaurant is small and cozy with incredible views. We had a sunset dinner which was romantic and there was even live music. The host was so kind and our server was really down to earth making our dinner very enjoyable. Appetizers: Escargot was tasty. Homemade bread with olives was delicious! Main entrees– Duck and rabbit dishes. Meat was cooked perfectly and ingredients were fresh and beautifully plated. Glass of albariño from Drew winery and a local beer hit the spot Dessert was an amazing homemade rocky road ice cream with brandy sauce. The best part was the macaron which was divine! I have never had a macaron like this! I am truly glad we tried his place and would definitely go back!
