Best specialty cocktails in town. High end ingredients, well trained bartenders. Perfect spot to be classy before going bowling n getting sloppy lol. Can get a bit tight sometimes but its easy to make new friends that way.

Delicious, creative drinks at great prices and lovely, professional bartender. The taco truck out front has the BEST carnitas ever. The meat was crunchy even after being rolled into a burrito. Some of the patrons were too drunk and angry for a Sunday afternoon. Would love to be a regular here but wouldn’t feel comfortable getting drunk around some of the regulars.

Probably the most perfect bar anywhere. With fantastic mixed drinks served in generous pours, a taco truck outside with great burritos, and shuffleboard in the corner if your date is a less than ideal conversationist, this place is the tops. Try the Hotsy Totsy drink in the winter. Also, make sure you’re there when Aurora is pouring; she’s passionate about her art and takes great pride in making your drink to a high standard.

I don’t know what to tell ya… when you come here you’re in for a treat because the place is not really what you expect it’s very divey but it’s also very stylish and always the weirdest things are playing on the television. I used to come here sometimes order burrito from the outside truck, and bring it inside then order one of their many other famous cocktails. With different are Rums, vodka, and speciality drinks available for one and all. There’s even a cocktail that used to be on the menu that’s not there that was a bit spicy and tasted like jalapenos I totally forgot what it was called. I think the place used to be a old school Pharmacy it’s always amusing coming in here because you have a very different crowd that comes the that are part hipster part local favorites and the room for seating is very unique wiith a back bar. Sometimes I come here and get a «hot toddy» I think that’s my favorite thing on the menu at they make, check it out for yourself. If you live to tell about it you will find a new watering hole.

Very rude lady bartender from the hours of open to 12:00 Friday. People go to drink and socialize. Not tend to the personality issues of the bartender. Sad because I will never go here again.

WAY over priced weak poorly made drinks(mostly ice).a bartender(Aurora) that’s a total bitch and has no business bar tending(almost all of the 1 star reviews mention what a bitch she is) there’s no place to sit and the bathrooms are disgusting and covered in piss. It’s mind boggling that this place has managed to stay open… it’s probably due to the lack of options in the area and the taco truck next door. UPDATE: if you look at the response I got from«management» you will see how«professional» this place is. I posted legitimate complaints and all they could come up with is «you don’t know what Your talking about» I’ve also received several mean messages from their employees ranging from«we’re all laughing at you» to «your so ugly» I do no what I’m talking about your«bar» is a joke… your«bartenders» should be bar backs… your drinks suck and your bathrooms are a breeding ground for MRSA/disease and covered in piss. If I didn’t know what I was talking about I wouldn’t be able to describe your shit hole in detail. Your drinks SUCK your bar sucks your bar tenders suck and the only thing bringing in business for you is the taco truck next door. I wouldn’t have left this review had it only been about what a dump this place is. It was the way I was treated there that made me write this. In response to the comment left by management: I do know what I’m talking about I’ve been to your dirty shit hole. You have plenty of one star reviews about the same things I said. Weak poorly made over priced drinks and a bartender named aurora that’s a rude hag and your bathrooms are a breeding ground for disease.

Such a great cocktail bar, the bartenders are really professional and can do some crazy tricks. The crowd is always an interesting mix of hipsters and Albany locals. The shuffleboard is fun, as is the great music and cool old movies always playing. Not to mention, this place happens to have a crazy excellent taco truck parked outside everyday of the week. These two spots and not to be missed.

Best mixed cocktails Of the Bay Area. I’ve been coming here since I first move to the area in 2012. Still not feeling like a regular, but I always love the drinks I’m served. The bartenders know their stuff. I’ll come into the bar, indecisive as ever, and they will create a cocktail that is just what I wanted.

This is becoming my favorite bar in the Bay. Cocktails are fantastic, service is friendly, prices are reasonable, and there’s always a trashy movie playing in the background to keep you entertained. The only downside is their wine selection is almost non-existent, but this is really a place to enjoy a good cocktail anyway.

I love a little low low spot… and this place doesn’t disappoint. Aurora is a bomb ass bartender, and she does a drink called the«Hotsy Toddy», where she sets it on fire with a pyrotechnics show. It’s worth the $ 10… Soft core porn on the screen, nice funk-soul selection playing on the jukebox… I can dig it . I will definitely be back!

What a great time I had at this place. Right next door to my favorite taco truck. It offers a wide selection of high-end cocktails and used as a pretty full bar. Totally supported by the locals. A popular place to meet after work. The bartender was very pleasant with me and my drinks were made perfectly. It’s not a real big space it’s sort of intimate but it’s definitely fun.

The only thing I like about this place is the sign outside. It looks good. Especially when I’m walking by on my way to get a cheeseburger after drinking at any other place ever. And I’m really wondering where everyone else reviewing this place finds places to sit because every time I’m dragged screaming and crying into Hotsy Totsy I’m forced to stand awkwardly in everyone’s way for 20 minutes before finding a place to sit down. Although I only stay long enough for my friends to engage in puerile peer discussion before I slink away and get drunk with my cat.

This place is great! Serves a mean Lemon Drop if that’s your drink of choice like me. The bar tender was holding it down all by herself on a Saturday night and they have taco truck right outside where you can bring in your own food. But my favorite part was two patrons had brought pets with them from small to large. I feel the dogs have everyone a comfortable as if they were having a kickback at home. Nice touch

Excellent cocktails, brisk service, and shuffleboard, too! There’s all kinds of seating, and you can usually enjoy some weird movie on the screens from wherever you sit. Last time was the Star Wars Holiday Special and Flesh Gordon. Both classics! So head on by, ask for an obscure cocktail, eat some tacos from the truck outside, and enjoy!

I’ve been here a couple of times and in terms of cocktails I’d say it’s one of my favorite places in the Bay Area thus far. The drinks are delicious and they have a collection of liquors I don’t always see in other places so they have some different options on the menu. I got a warmed apple-flavor-forward cocktail the other day and it was lovely. I didn’t give it 5 stars because the most recent time I came, when we wanted a 2nd drink, 2 of my companions attempted to order drinks and ended up giving up. The bar was busy because a group came in, but the bartender passed over each of them more than once when they tried ordering. I think there was a new menu that night so maybe things were a bit mixed up. I will probably go back eventually because the first time I went I had a great experience. I hope whatever kink was there the last time I went was just a fluke or will get figured out.

Hotsy Totsy is fast becoming my favorite spot on San Pablo(north of University, I still love you Missouri Lounge). The Club is a small, funky cocktail bar with a dark interior, a cool tin ceiling, and lots of comfy couches and stools. There’s also a shuffleboard, if that’s your thing. There are often risqué B-movies playing on the TVs, much to the amusement of the patrons. The bartenders are awesome. They’re super-friendly, able to cope with the masses asking for all kinds of complicated cocktails, and have produced consistently excellent cocktails. Prices are fair — a well cocktail is about $ 7, name brand is $ 8, and their cocktail menu runs around $ 9-$ 11. The booze selection is impressive. The Club has a pretty healthy list overall, and an impressive rum and gin selection relative to nearby places. The crowd is friendly. I’ve been here by lonesome once or twice and both the regulars and the passers-by are sober-ish and make good conversation. I’d definitely recommend stopping by if you’re looking for a good cocktail bar in the Berkeley or Albany area.

You must experience Hotsy Totsy. And you must be prepared for an itsy bitsy, teeny weeny, hotsy totsy hangover the next day. It just comes with the territory. Bottled *craft* cocktails for $ 7. Fancy freshly-made cocktails for $ 9 – 12. Weird 70s soft porn on the TV, a pool table, a permanently-stationed taco truck outside, golden lighting inside, antique pharmacy signage… it’s all so very magical. It’s the place you take your friends to prove El Cerrito is not the end of the world. It’s just a different world. The old-timey neon sign sends it’s boozy siren call to all San Pablo Ave passers-by. But don’t drive yourself here. Taxi or BART or bike or stroll so you can fully appreciate their alcoholic art. It’s a prime, low-key spot to socialize and feel as if you’ve discovered suburbia’s most treasured gem. That’s our lil’ Hotsy.

The Hotsy Totsy is one of the East Bay’s best bars. The problem, however, is trying to drag your friends to the Hotsy Totsy, especially if they’ve never been there(and can’t seem to understand why you want to hang out in Albany of all places). When I lived in Berkeley, it was a struggle to convince everyone to head to the Hotsy Totsy. We had to make sure it was on taco truck day(though now it is amazingly a permanent feature outside of the bar!). We had to take BART. We had to stumble our way to and from BART. Let me assure you, though, that the trip was always worth it. When I lived in Oakland, I still made sure to visit the Hotsy Totsy. When I lived in San Francisco, I still made sure to visit the Hotsy Totsy. And now that I live in LA, I still had to make sure to visit the Hotsy Totsy. Simply, fabulous bartenders and solid cocktails(including some amazing classics). The bartenders know their ingredients, and it really shows. It is the kind of bar you would want to end your night at, especially if you can appreciate sipping on a well-made cocktail. It offers shuffleboard(looks like the pool table is long gone), funky movies, and(for emphasis) a great taco truck outside. Bonus points: I went on a Sunday and they were playing football on the TV. Now, I see a lot of people throwing the term«dive bar» around. Absurd. Is it an older bar with a local crowd of mixed ages? Yes. But is it a dive bar? No. I recommend this spot to anyone visiting the bay and looking for a great local bar. And, really, now that we have ubers and lyfts to make trips to the Hotsy Totsy, there’s no excuse not to go. Get there, order a real cocktail, and enjoy the night.

A local dive bar with well made drinks for good prices. The crowd seemed to be mostly people in their mid to late twenties who were looking to hang out and talk. They have some fun movies playing on the TV’s, I think it was some kind of 1920’s burlesque highlight reel the last time I was in there. For those of you who like watching the bartenders do their thing, this is the place for you. The people working behind the bar at Hotsy Totsy had all the flourish of an upscale bar without the premium prices. A fun place to go if you are already a few drinks in and looking for a place hang.
