Really really great buffet pizza, those bread sticks with the cheese in the middle are the best during the weekdays mornings I’d highly encourage people to try the buffet. The pizza dough is always decent if not the best!

I would not recommend Straw Hat for delivery. Every time we order, we order extra ranch and pay for it and it is never delivered. Tonight, I specifically told the man taking my order that we wanted 3 extra ranch, which he verbally read back to me. We got 1 when the pizza was delivered. We called to let them know that once again, they forgot and the girl on the phone said«it says you ordered only 2» and couldn’t seem to understand that either way, we only received 1. She also blamed it on the delivery guy. Unfortunately, as much as we like the pizza, we won’t be ordering delivery from them anymore.

This place is neither great nor terrible. Good for prices, watching sports, and drinking beers. The service is fine. The food is average on taste as nothing stands out as great.

Yuck! Went here on a Sunday night because my family was in mood for some good pizza. So like many people nowadays, I asked Siri«Find pizza near me». This place had good reviews compared to most places I’ve been to in Alameda so I figured I’d give it a shot. Called in 1 Large cheese, 1 large sausage, mush and pep with a 2 liter of Sprite. First off, the lady who took my order was close to impossible to understand. She had a very deep accent and was speaking way too damn fast. All I heard was 15−20mins and blah blah blah for the price. Trying not to be rude I just figured it’s pizza, I’ll just get the total when I get there. It can’t be that much right? Got there 20 minutes later and come to find out it was $ 48 for my order! Damn ok! A little pricey but hey, it’s gotta be good quality pizza right?! Got home and started eating about 10 mins later. 1. Pizza was cold! How in the hell did the pizza get cold so quickly? I only live 5 blocks away! 2. The taste was horrible! Crust tasted like cardboard, toppings were dry and there wasn’t much flavor at all. Tastes like the cheap ass frozen pizzas you get at Safeway for 10 for $ 10. 3. The cheese pizza that I ordered for my kids… well they hated it and barely finished one slice. I’d like to note: I’ve been a father for 12 years now and there has NEVER, EVER, been a time where my kids said they hated the cheese pizza they were eating. I guess there’s a first for everything. Smh Conclusion: This place sucks ass and I should of went to Little Cesar’s instead. If you’re having a crappy day, are in the mood for pizza, and want to make your day even crappier, eat here. Honesty is always the best policy.

Mama loves the salad bar, and the kiddos scarf down the boneless wings and pizza. Happy family. :) AND… now they have a full bar and more screens to watch games on(plus one with cartoons for the kids). Always friendly service, can’t beat that!

Got here about 11:02 the pizza wasn’t out yet for the buffet(no big deal). I got a salad from the salad bar and ate that while I waited for the pizza to come out. The pizza came out and it was really hot and fresh so I couldn’t complain too much. The garlic Parmesan knots were really really good. Can’t beat an $ 8.99 lunch deal And all you can eat.

They close at 10pm on Fridays. Put in an online order for delivery at 9:20. Immediately get a call Him: «we are closed.» Me: «oh, your website says you’re open for 40 more minutes.» Him: «yeah but we closed early because it was slow.» Me: «fine, no problem, I’ll place an order with another pizza place.» Two minutes later I get a call back Him: «we can make your pizza in 35 minutes.» Me: «sorry I already placed my order with Dominoes, please cancel the order.» I used to work at restaurant chains, and I understand the slow crawl til closing time. But close 5, 10, 15 minutes early. Not 40. Pizza is pretty good though.

I have not been here in a while but was happy I came in today. The lunch buffet is fantastic. Quick, hot, delicious. There are lots of kinds of pizza to choose from and if they don’t have one you like already made, they will make a new one. My kid wanted an olive and cheese pizza and without hesitation, they overheard her talking and whipped up one for her, fresh and hot. When she spilled her water, they were so kind and came out promptly to clean it up, with a smile on their face. Super patient. $ 7.99 for an adult, $ 4.99 for a kid, and I think $ 2 for a beverage. I really like the flavor and style of the pizza too. the ingredients are fresh, cheese is stretchy and crust is just the right amount of crisp. I am sad to read some people have had bad experiences because mine have all been fantastic.

Yeah, save yourself time and order from a pizza joint that actually has your order ready by the time you requested.

We live near the straw hat pizza in Alameda and it’s a go to for us. We like the aloha chicken pizza and wings! The parking is always easy. You can order on line, call, or just swing by. The team is friendly. The TVs are showing local sports or reruns of Tom & Jerry. Easy, fun, good food!

Not sure what happened to this restaurant. We have been here several times and the pizza has been pretty good. Ordered pizza for take out last night and it was not very good. Ordered a large«The Works» for pick up and was told it would be twenty minutes. Arrived to pick up thirty minutes after placing my order and my order was not ready so I had a beer an waited fifteen more minutes for my pizza. At least it will be hot. Got back to our boat(3 minutes) and the pizza was awful. It wasn’t cooked all of the way, way to much sauce and very soggy. Only ate one slice and tossed the rest, that bad. Did nor recognize any of the staff, maybe mew management? Have to find a new pizza place. To bad, this one lose to the marina

Got the buffalo chicken pizza and it was inedible. It was so spicy that you couldn’t taste your mouth after one bite. I’m seriously thinking about a civil suit because I believe many taste buds have been irreparably damaged by eating this cardboard with cheese.

Aww, I really hate being forced to give only one star but this place did it for me, I mean the pizza is blah, the cleanliness of the establishment & salad bar was grimy. The salad bar had a lot of items in there that were spoiled. Once the pizza came, I got excited, but unfortunately, not all that shines is glitter. Next, the«clean» plates came with food that I didn’t order. Asked for another set and even those came with another guest’s leftovers. So EFF it, just asked for paper plates instead. Not a single time did any of the staff address any of the concerns, not to mention the spoiled food at the salad bar. Definitely not worth the $ 50 price tag for this joint.

I frequently used their online ordering to order; that always worked well. Pretty good pizza that you can choose to your liking. Parking here is a breeze since it’s located in a big lot. Customer service was always good. Never ate there, but it seems like they have some good deals and they serve beer as well!

For the money, there’s nothing better! All you can eat Pizza and salad for $ 8. Been eating here since it was a Round table(about 10 years). The pizza here is about a 7(if hot) on a 1~10 scale. What makes this place really good is the Owner(VJ) and his employees. Everyone is happy, and the place has a positive atmosphere. They have good(not great) wedge fries and garlic twist bread sticks. I’ve never tried the burgers or sandwiches, but the pizza is Good. I don’t drink, but this place has a Hugh selection of Beers, something like 20 taps, and a bar, plus a bunch of bottle brands. If your into sports, there’s about 12 or more big screen TV’s playing sports. Also, the all you can eat is for lunch(11am~2pm).

After being disconnected while being«placed on hold», I called back and asked the person if I could place an order for pick up. She responded, «okay, do you mind holding for a second… I mean five minutes.» Thinking she didn’t mean it literally I asked her, «you want me to wait on hold for five minutes?» Her response, «yes.» She actually didn’t seem rude or sarcastic. She seemed completely sincere.

Amazing pizza! I came in from the airport and prior to checking into my hotel stopped in and was amazed by the food and the customer service. The staff was friendly, and the owner was great. He had a positive attitude and made sure all of my questions about the menu were answered. I would recommend one of the pizza sandwiches with a drink and salad. The salad bar had all types of options for your own salad favorites to be created. I would recommend this to any Alameda local or anyone traveling from out of state. Be sure to stop and chat with the owner, he is doing a great job from what I can see. Keep up the great work Straw Hat!!!

I ordered a pizza through an app. For some reason a wrong phone number was applied, and the Alameda, Ca location called my dad’s cell phone. I called the Alameda, Ca location to confirm my pizza order and clarify any confusion. The lady on the phone answered and the first thing she tells me, prior even to discussing my order, was«yeah he was rude.» First, my dad is not from America and has poor english skills. I know he was probably very confused. I was shocked anyone in customer service would blatantly say that, especially when its not even relevent to the order! I’ve managed a food chain before and if any of my employees spoke to any of our customers that way, I would be disgusted. This experience has left poor taste in my mouth. I will never order from here again. I’m so pist off. This establishment is ridiculous. Update: Upon delivery, the man apologized genuinely, and I really appreciated it. I ordered boneless wings, the jalapeño cheese knots, and the garlic chicken pizza. The food was pretty good and still tasted fresh.

Well, they have closed most of the Straw Hat Pizzas in my area with the exception of the store in Lake Tahoe, so my review may be colored a bit by that experience. In terms of finding the store, it wasn’t too bad to get there from the Coast Guard Island area — and I was starving after training, so that was a good thing. They also participated in the United Mileage Plus(rewards network) program, which was what really influenced my visit. Being a Coast Guard Auxiliarist — a volunteer — I was on my time and my dime, so we tend to look for relatively inexpensive eats while down there for training. However, I will have to say that the sandwich — one of the Hot Hats was not even as pictured. The pepperoni was gross — it was not the same stuff I remember from Straw Hat in Carson City or Reno. The potato wedges were so-so; basically the same thing you would receive from the hot case in your local supermarket’s deli. Would I go back here the next time I am in Alameda for training? Probably not. I’d rather find a Round Table or Pizza Factory, as they seem to be more consistent — and better.

Yesterday, my husband felt like a sandwich for dinner. He did not want to go to Subway again to have their pastrami sandwich. It’s almost 7:00PM. A Unilocal search of places that serve sandwiches in the early evening resulted in several places in Alameda. Some were already closed. At first, I suggested Cheesesteak Shop on Blanding. He wanted a sandwich from a place not too far from home. Reason: GS Warriors vs. Cavs game was starting about 7:35PM. Okay, it’s a mad dash to and from Straw Hat Pizza to get the sandwiches in the gray mobile, heading to Marina Village and returning home in a matter of ½ hour. We have never ordered pizzas from Straw Hat, let alone their sandwiches. They are located at the site of the old Round Table Pizza. The layout of pizza parlor is still the same as RTP. As Eugene L. usually does, get the menu and start perusing. Besides serving pizzas, they also offer gluten free pizzas, appetizers, a fresh salad bar, hot hats, sandwiches and burgers. Salad bar still has similar offerings(lettuce, spinach, veggies, pasta salad, salad dressings, etc.) as in the past. Eats to go: one Italian sub with potato wedges and one turkey sandwich with potato wedges. $ 6.49 for each sandwich. Italian sub consisted of ham, salami, pepperoni, Italian dressing, cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato. Turkey sandwich was turkey breast, melted Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo. Neither my husband nor I knew what to expect out of the sandwiches. It was our first time. We were surprised that both sandwiches were delish and they were definitely much better than the ones we get from Subway. It took me two sittings to finish my Italian sub. The service was quick enough that we got home about 2 minutes after the game started, which was a good thing. Another thing I liked seeing was a container for people to donate children’s books to the East Bay Children’s Book Project. Can one imagine that… a fast food pizza joint getting involved with the East Bay community. That’s great and I know my husband and I will be back for their sandwiches and donating children’s books to a good cause, EBCBP.
