Mary Rose is amazing! I like to keep a «Ramona Flowers» style, in both cut and color, and she nailed it. She spent a lot of time with me helping me pick the perfect shade, too, taking into consideration the way it would fade since I’m out in the sun and the salt water a lot. I couldn’t be happier.

I am a high maintenance you know what about my hair. Mary Rose nailed it on our first visit. I have a wonderful stylist in Seattle that have been traveling to see from the east bay for years, but hoped to find someone local who could do as good a job (if not better). I absolutely love my cut and will be going back!

I’ve been to a lot of stylist, and Mary Rose is by far the best. She is very experienced, knowledgeable, attentive, organized and tidy.
I made the jump to platinum blonde and it looks amazing! We had a consultation where she taught me about the processes and made a plan to do it gradually. She planned this whole thing like a military mission, with exit strategies and work arounds in case something went wrong. My hair was a little brassy at one point, because of some warm highlights I had done a while back, but she tested a few things and figured out how to tone it out.
I’ve never had a stylist actually contact me after we were done and make sure I was happy! She gave me an awesome cut too. I feel like a movie star!

Do you see all these hipsters with their funky cuts here? Do you? Look at that color! Look at that style! So even having known Rebecca for ages and NEEDING to find a good stable stylist here in Alameda, I honestly couldn’t see myself getting my hair did here. I figured my request would be far too vanilla, and either she would feel uninspired or I would end up with something I didn’t want. But a twist of fate led me to Rebecca, and I owe it to her — née, to the WORLD! (or at least Alameda) — to set the record straight.
First, it IS a hip little salon. Cozy, fun, eclectic and inviting. The interior brought me back to my twenty something days in SF when I was much cooler than I am now. I was offered a beverage of my choice, and I settled in. A little nervous, I brought a picture and asked if she could pull it off… and she did.
But what I really loved is that even if I had asked for something very simple, Rebecca gave just a hint of an edge to it, and has continued to do so with each and every cut and color. And we’re not talking a streak of blue or purple… more like, just a little more texture where it needs to be. Or my highlights… just simple highlights… she did such an amazing job! I actually had someone approach me after having seen me across a huge ballroom and ask who did my highlights.
I don’t know if the ladies feel its a compliment to say that they can do «normal» do’s, but it is certainly meant as a compliment. Rebecca is not a one trick pony. She’s able to do everything and do it incredibly well!
On top of that, shes friendly, witty, and the conversation is always interesting, and her breath is never stinky. (seriously, if you have ever had a stylist with bad breath bent over you shampooing you, you know how important this is)
I would give more stars if i could. i would.

Jenene is a miracle worker! She give excellent cuts and she is an amazing colorist! She is a delight to sit with while she gives you the rock star treatment! I walked out of the salon feeling beautiful! Thank you Jenene! You’re awesome!
Update. It had been a couple months since getting my hair done and people are still asking me if its a «fresh do» to me that is a sign of an amazing hair cut! Still looks newly done after quite some time.
