I’ve been to this location a few times over the past few years, and each time, whether on the dining side or the hibachi side, the meal has been a 5-star experience. The service is great and the food is even better. The quality of the food and the manner it is prepared is tops. It is a wonderful place for a «night out». If you’re looking for great Japanese food and a top quality experience, I recommend.

This is the place to go if you like your meals prepared in front of you. it’s my daughter’s favorite place to go for birthdays because of the entertaining cooks. Can get rather smoky. The food is not spicy with BLAND sauces. You will need a doggy box to take home half your meal unless you are starving.

The manager is absolutely horrible. I had complications with my order and instead of doing what a good manager should, he literally grabbed a menu and pointed out where it said what and made me feel like an idiot. When a customer is unhappy, you do something about it. Whether it be taking it off the bill, giving a discount, a gift card, or just sincerely apologizing, you make sure your customers are happy. The food is pretty good but it’s very inconsistent. Honestly, I would only go here for the sushi at this point. There are too many other hibachi places that are not nearly as over priced for crappy service and a manager who only cares about money.

Great environment, food looks fancy on plate… but it tasted average, I can tell the chicken and the fish has been in freezer for a while, it didn’t taste very fresh, staff waiter attitude was friendly But what upset me the most us after I got back to hotel I got diarrhea within half hour. I have not eaten anything before or after this place I would not recommend it

Great place! Teriyaki entrées come out sizzling and there’s a wide variety of desserts to choose from! For such a classy restaurant with fantastic ambiance the price isn’t too bad either! Miso soup wasn’t very good though…

This was my first visit to wasabi, and my first impression was just ok. There is a lot of hype around the name, and it just didn’t blow me away. I ordered the Kyoto bento box. Seaweed salad, yaki-tori, Cali roll, and teriyaki chicken. Let’s start with the worst, the Yaki-tori is just a chicken skewer and it was very over cooked and dry to the point of being inedible. The Cali roll was just ok and the chicken teriyaki was good. Very moist and flavorful, but I can make this at home. I might come back and try something else, but I’m in no hurry.

I came here for dinner. I ordered a drink, hibachi chicken and filet combo, and fried rice and it was ~$ 37. Pretty average price for a hibachi restaurant. The drink was really strong, but didn’t taste great. But, it gave me a buzz, so that’s ok. Unlike most other hibachi places I’ve been to, they give you your meat, veggies, white rice(fried rice is a $ 2 upgrade) and lo mein. I’ve never been to a hibachi place that gives you two starches… usually it’s just one. However, since I was paying extra for the fried rice, I was a little upset that I just got a tiny bowl of it. But, having two starches made up for it I guess. The filet was perfectly cooked and the chicken was well done. The flavor was pretty good, but nothing spectacular. Something that I ate gave me a stomach ache. My guess is that the yum yum sauce was the culprit. After our order was taken, we waited for about an hour for the chef to come to our table. Some others at the table ordered appetizers, so maybe they were waiting for them to finish. But, it’s not fair to make me wait for people I don’t know(or maybe they were just understaffed that night). Once the chef arrived, everything was finished in about 20 minutes. I’d rate the food 4 stars, but since I had to wait an hour for the chef, I’m rating my overall experience 3 stars.

Worst service from the manager! I visited this establishment with my coworkers and was greeted by 2 servers. I pointed to the item on the menu and ordered the teriyaki steak and lobster, $ 25. Apparently the new server put the wrong item on the grill and I was charged for a meal that costs $ 9 more. When I got the bill, I asked the more tenured server and she spoke with the owner/manager. He said because I ate it, he was charging me for the entire meal. I asked to speak with him and he came to my table and said I should’ve noticed it was wrong and not eaten the meal. He then asked me if I could not afford to eat there. I asked him if he was insulting me and he then said he would take off the $ 9 difference after trying to negotiate from taking off $ 4.50. The chef was also strange, one of my coworkers said she didn’t want her noodles and extra pieces of shrimp so he put the extra food in a bucket and said he was allowed to keep it for himself. It was odd and unprofessional as most hibachi grills just distribute the extras among the other customers at the table. The floor is also extremely greasy. This was my 2nd time there and I noticed I almost slipped on the floor near the hibachi tables both times. All in all, I will never go back and my coworkers agreed.

It was large portions and great food. I got sashimi, which was delicious, but the salmon was not very good. It was fresh, but not the best quality… Didn’t taste much like salmon. I am from DC where you pay higher prices for less food, so this is a great place in my opinion. Our waitress was very nice and gave me a free bowl of miso soup. Definitely try it!

I was pleasantly surprised… Very Good Sushi! Started with the tuna tartare, it was great and just the right size. Small pieces of tuna stacked with avocado, masago, along with some tasty sauce on the plate. The chirasi was huge, for $ 19 I received so much fish I couldn’t finish it all. Everything was fresh and very tasty. Although I did not order any rolls I saw a lot of them being made and they all looked great!

Wow! Believe it or not, I had a great sushi dinner in Akron OH. I’ve eaten at this place once before, about 3 years ago for a business dinner and don’t remember it being anything memorable. This time I stopped in with my wife and two kids after a long derive out from Buffalo. The entranceway is really cool, with waterfalls, a koi pond, and Japanese drums. It feels a little like Epcot Japan. We sat in the dining room off to the side(not the hibachi area). My wife and I had the Wasabi Special Sushi for 2 and I have to say, it was really, really good. An assortment of maki, nigiri, and sashimi and they threw in some interesting items that don’t always make chefs choice dinners, such as octopus and white tuna. Everything tasted very fresh and was expertly prepared. I like the way they scored the tops of the fish on some of the nigiri to make it even more melt in the mouth. The only criticism I could level was that the tuna sashimi was a little chewy, like perhaps it was cut a bit too thick. Miso soup and ginger dressing salad were also very good, albeit standard. We also ordered edamame and a chicken teriyaki dinner for my kids to share. The service was extremely quick and friendly and I appreciate that the waitress brought my daughters each their own salad, soup, rice etc despite the fact that they were sharing an entrée. The chicken was so good the kids devoured it and we ended up ordering a second. My wife and I also split a bottle of sake and the total bill was still under $ 100. Good value. Highly recommended. I’d give it 4.5 stars if that was an option. Can’t award 5 only because there’s nothing particularly unique about the place and I reserve that for one of a kind experiences.

This place was next to our hotel and out of the 8+ places that were close wasabi had the best rating. I’m so glade we came, the food was amazing the server was very nice and the management treats the customers very well. We were waiting on our table and customers who had pick up orders would get their food and the manager would carry their bag to the car for them. To me that is caring about your customers. I recommend this place if your looking for a good meal.

When my dad, my mom, and I went to Wasabi, we had the habachi. This is what each of us got; Me– Chicken & Sirloin Steak -$ 24 Dad– chicken & Sirlion Steak -$ 24 Mom– Scallops & Sirloin Steak -$ 26 The food was amazing and fast. The chef was hilarious! I don’t have much to say but I would give it 5 stars. The total price was $ 85.40. But the food was worth it.

Still the best in town for sushi and hibachi experience. Great staff, skilled and friendly(also funny) chefs. If a restaurant can stay open on «restaurant hill» as long as they have and still have a wait at the door, they are obviously doing something right. Check them out, call ahead for reservations they do get busy.

Great service & food! Totally like the atmosphere there. When we arrived, there were tons of people waiting on hibachi. The host told me that the max wait for hibachi was about 30 mins on Friday night, and, surprisingly he delivered. The chief is very friendly & entertaining. The portion of food is more than enough for two people. The reason that I gave 4 stars is because the vegetables seems not too fresh. The chief didn’t cook long for the vegetables but some of my vegetables were super soft already. That’s the only down side that I had that night. Otherwise, it wood have been perfect!

Out of the ENTIRE world, this is my favorite restaurant. I moved to LA and still every time I’m in town I cannot wait to go here. It is DELISH! The Montrose Roll perfectly fulfills my «white girl sushi» requirements. The staff is always very nice, the atmosphere is gorgeous, and it’s a darn good restaurant for Akron, Ohio. You MUST check it out. And you MUST have the Montrose Roll. PROTIP: Sit on the regular restaurant side if you’re above the age of 6 and below the age of 76(my grandmother is OBSESSED with the stupid hibachi show — she thinks it’s like seeing fireworks and getting kisses from Santa at the same time). You will not smell like a Japanese kitchen, and there is so much less noise and drama with kids and such. It’s much more peaceful on the other side. And they will serve you the same exact thing.

We had a friend visiting from the Philippines and thought this might give her a little flavor from home. There was a wait for hibachi so we did traditional. That was probably the wrong choice. We had the soy bean appetizer and the steamed dumplings. Both were ok. We then had the misho soup and salad and we all got a teriyaki dish. Soup and salad were just OK. Teriyaki had a good taste, but steak was a bit tough. Rice was a big lump. Fried rice, at a surcharge, had little flavor. Prices were decent and service was good. I think we just ordered the wrong items. Everyone seemed to be taking food home, but we ate all ours. Didn’t think the portions were that big.

A good to very good hibachi restaurant. Pretty typical from other ones I’ve tried. I got the sirloin steak for $ 24 which is expected and came with soup, salad and shrimp. Didn’t try the sushi. Also, squirting sake into your mouth for free is pretty cool.
