Horrific customer service experience. Confirmed a room for three nights via Priceline, so we’d prepaid reservation. Checked in by the most unpleasant mgr. Kellie, who insisted we must pay $ 25/night ADDITIONAL for king room vs. 2 queens. Issued room key, which did not work for the room, so had to return for re-key & settled into king room assigned. Then staff banged on the door to move us to a queen accommodation and said no thank you. She then threatened to call police for their error. My wife was approached by another guest who overheard how we were accosted by staff and said her family was treated with similar rudeness… Caveat emptor

Although not perfect, my second stay at Best Western Plus was significantly better than the first. I was pretty unforgiving after my first review primarily because my I felt the hotel could have put my family’s safety in jeopardy. Why would I stay at a hotel again that I originally gave one star? Because I rolled the dice on Hotwire for a hotel in Fairlawn and thought my chances were pretty good on not getting this hotel when I booked, but I rolled some snake eyes. I wasn’t happy when the result came up, but my stay ended up being OK. My stay was two nights in late September. There is no issue with parking at this hotel, the lot doesn’t fill up and all the spaces are close to the entrance. The front desk staff was welcoming and allowed me to check in much earlier than than the 3PM check in time. The chlorine smell was absent in the lobby and I had no issue with the servicing of the room. My room was spacious and clean with free internet access. The main issues were that the one elevator in the hotel was broken for a full day which wasn’t a big issue with me, but would be more of an issue for those that find stairs more physically challenging. I could also hear every noise and conversation of my neighbors next door. There are still of plenty of other better options on the hill and in the rest of Fairlawn, but I wouldn’t immediately rule out Best Western Plus if it was one of my options.

Stayed here over a weekend. Courteous and welcoming staff, spotless rooms and a good selection for breakfast. What more do you need? Thanks Best Western, I will be back :)

Yeah… well…I used priceline to book and got stuck here on a name your own price deal. I usually end up at the Radisson just down the street… same star rating. Well… I’m not repeating THAT mistake! Upon checking in, I had to wait an extra 5 minutes after check in so someone could«inspect» the room. What?! A customer should never be kept waiting for something like that. The bed… wow…terrible. If best western really wants to compete, they will put some money into their bedding! Never again!

the hotel itself is nice, but the staff is awful! what is so disturbing is as i was in the room, a male staff member barged into the room without knocking!!! i was mortified, luckily i had clothes on! then when i told the front desk they didnt even apologize and gave me a look like they could care less! disgusting!!!

I had a reservation for one night in this establishment. We were delayed by unseasonable winter rain storms in the Midwest. Roads were flooded, rivers were overflowing, the interstate was snarled from Indiana through Ohio. When I realized we were not going to be able to make it too Akron, I called the inn in the early afternoon to tell them I couldn’t get there. They refused to release me from my reservation. I called the manager the following day. He said that they did not sell out that night, they had not turned anybody away. He stood by his ironclad policy and heartlessly refused to refund my money. I could easily understand if my reservation had caused his inn to loose money, but it did not. He just had the opportunity to screw me through his policy, so he did.

The moment you step in you smell chlorine from the pool. The lady at the front desk was courteous and prompt. The room I had on the 4th floor was awesome! A little hallway for me to do lunges, nice sized flat screen and it was clean. Breakfast was bland but it was offered unlike many of the other hotels in the area. I’ll definitely stay again if I go back to Akron!

Stayed here for one night while I was in Akron for an important examination. The gentleman who checked me in around 5:30 P.M. on August 6, 2013 was SO friendly and very, very courteous! I knew right then that I would enjoy the stay and I was not disappointed! The room was very clean and very nice, a comfortable bed, nice fluffy pillows, and good water pressure(which is the most important thing ever). It was also quiet and I was very happy for that. Breakfast started at 6:00 A.M. and I got down there right around that time. There were muffins, bagels, a waffle maker, eggs, sausage, juices, fruit, anything you could wish for. It was all perfect. The hotel is in a great location as well! Montrose West Avenue is lined with restaurants galore! You could walk to them if you wanted to! I chose this hotel because it was literally 150 feet from the building in which I was taking my examination but should I need another hotel in the Akron area again, I will without a doubt choose this one!
