The lodge and grill are better than any other restaurants anywhere and definitely nearby. Try Japanese shrimp appetizer.

Finally went back to Ken Stewart’s for more than just drinks. Overall, it was a very nice and fancy place. And as expected the prices are quite high. The steaks are in the $ 50 range. Chicken and fish entrees in the $ 30 to $ 40 range. I got the 8 oz strip and frites. The steak was good, nothing special. Never had frites, and didn’t care for them very much. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but since I don’t regularly drop that much money on a dinner I’d probably try something else in the future. However, if frequented such places more often I’d come back.

In the top echelon of fine dining in Northeast Ohio! Very expensive but when you are looking to splurge for great food this is it. You can take advantage of their ½ off drinks and apps on certain days of the week during happy hour. I’ve never been disappointed. King Crab legs are always a fav! Fleming’s/Hyde Park are nice chains but Ken’s is a step up.

This used to be a great place, but sadly, my recent visit will be my last. The service was ok, and one of my party had a nice scallops special. However, my daughter, a somewhat picky eater, asked for a plain cheese pizza, and instead got some unpleasant tasting offering with a smoky sauce that she refused to eat for which we we charged $ 16. My meal, the mixed grill, tasted ok, but the shrimp were way over cooked, the lamb ribs were totally blackened on one side, and I had to cut the charred top and bottom off the fillet mignon in order to eat the overlooked middle. This was drenched in a sweet spicy sauce with no other accompanying sides on the plate apart from crispy onions(that got soggy from the sauce). If that wasn’t bad enough, I almost fainted when I got the check to find out that this special, which they did not tell me the price of when ordering, came in at $ 78, twice the price of any dish on the printed menu. By the time you added tax and tip, my $ 100 plate was even more disappointing. No wonder the place was almost empty!

I had a truly outstanding experience at Ken Stewart’s Grille this week. I hosted a corporate event there for 11 guests, and picked the place sight unseen largely off Unilocal reviews since I’m not local to the area. The event staff did a fantastic job accommodating us in the club room. They moved décor around and used a screen to make it feel like we were in a private room. Service was outstanding, two friendly, efficient waitresses served our group with perfect pacing to the meal. Great wine list, expertly made cocktails. A wealth of specials supplemented the already substantial menu. I had a bone in veal chop that was one of the best I’ve ever had. Expertly prepared, slightly charred on the outside but medium rare on the inside. The fat just melted in your mouth and I savored every bite. Dessert was also excellent. It’s an expensive place, but I was looking to impress some associates and this place was exactly the right choice. Bravo Ken Stewart’s!

Steaks /American In the area for a few days for business and looking for something more interesting that what I can get at the hotel or the chain places, I stumbled onto Ken Stewart’s Grille. It was a Tuesday and the parking situation was already tight — they have a super helpful fella out there helping with the parking as they utilize other parking lots as well as their own. Scored a seat at the bar and the extremely competent bartender got to me and we discussed some wine by the glass selections and I settled on a Chianti — it was yummy. I started off with what they called mushroom toast which was sauteed mushrooms in a light cream sauce over two nice hunks of bread. Holy crap, it was so good, I think I felt it move… I followed that up with the mixed greens salad which is part of the dinner I ordered apparently — works for me. Main dish was Steak & frites, one of my favorites. Steak was cooked correctly and the frites were addicting — they had a hint of tarragon which just kept making me reach in for more. I typically do not do dessert, but the bartender was convincing and even recommended one that would pair with my wine nicely. All in all a superb venture and I will be returning there again when next in town. Parking in lots and on the street.

Okay, so I learned a couple things about Akron’s place in the culinary universe when I dined at Ken Stewart’s Grille last night:(1) White french sauce is a thing, and(apparently) exists only in Akron and(2) Sauerkraut balls, also unique to Akron, are actually pretty tasty. Now I know why mom(born and raised in this fair city) demands that I bring her a bag or two when I make my infrequent trips to the rubber city. I must admit I chose to dine at KSG because my cousin used to be a bus boy there and said that all the really rich snotty people in Akron ate there, so I figured the grub must be pretty good. And I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed my walleye – this was better than any previous experience I had with this dish when I ate my way through northwestern Minnesota(a noted walleye hot spot). Indeed all in our party enjoyed their meals. The surf and turf was wonderful, as were the appetizers. Not an inexpensive night out by any means, but worth it I thought – the food, décor and service were all spot-on.

My quest to find the best burger from a non-burger place brought me to Ken Stewart’s Grille this week. I have dined at Ken Stewart’s many times in the past and have always thought their food was well above average. I like that they have an ever-changing selection of chef’s specialties written on the board as you walk in so there is always something new to try, while also continuing to keep the classics on their printed menu. On my most recent visit I placed a to-go order for the 10oz KSG Prime Burger and added on an appetizer side of their Fried Pickles. I ordered the burger cooked medium and chose cheddar as my cheese choice on the sandwich. The burger itself was larger than many I have tried so far and the prime beef that they use definitely had a noticeably different taste than your typical ground chuck or round. It seemed a little leaner than a typical hamburger, but the fact that it is labeled as prime really does not guarantee that it will be much leaner since the USDA inspectors label a whole cow as prime based on a sampling of the ribeye and there was no indication of what portion of the cow the KSG Prime Burger was made from. Unfortunately the beef was about the only positive point of the sandwich. Everything else was very lackluster. For how large of a burger it was it only came with half of a tiny tomato slice, 3 tiny slivers of onion and half a piece of romaine lettuce. Also if I had to guess, the bun was just pulled out of a bag and the burger placed on it. This is the first place on my burger quest that has not toasted the bun, had bacon, or had any kind of sauce. The burger comes with a large side of truffle fries and these were much better than the truffled tater tots that come with the burger from d.b.a. The fried pickles were excellent as well and the sauce that came with them was fantastic. They and the fries are what rounded this review up to 4 rather than 3 stars. If I had only had the burger and never dined here before this would have been 3 stars. So overall, it was not a bad burger but it definitely lacked in some areas that other of the nicer restaurants in the area get right. I will definitely return to Ken Stewart’s but I can not see myself picking up a burger to-go from them again.

Awesome restaurant with very good service. Bob jumped at the chance to have lamb t-bone with mashed cauliflower with garlic and cheese and fresh herbs. I jumped at the chance of having flash fried perch and home fries, with a fresh greens salad with crisis and candied walnuts. Fresh hot bread was served with the drinks – I tried Stewart’s diet root beer(not the same Stewart and no caffeine). Nice jazzy music played in the background, bathrooms were clean.

A friend and I came in for lunch on Valentine’s Day and were quite impressed! I cannot remember our servers name, but she was quite attentive and very sociable. I ordered the Cobb salad with the house vinaigrette and my friend had the scallop feature. For me, going out to eat is hard due to the fact I have celiac disease. I hate being«that» annoying person, so I try sticking with salads. Ken Stewart’s having the«gf» label on the menus really helps, so that was a huge plus. However, my server did not seem to have much knowledge of the food and how it is prepared. She also did not offer to ask the chefs which dressings were gluten free, and only offered me vinaigrette. I was not a fan, at all, so I’m happy the dressing was on the side. The Cobb salad was great dry anyways. My friend absolutely loved his scallops and considered ordering to take home. To finish off our meal, we had cappuccino and Crème brûlée. They were absolutely delicious! The fresh vanilla bean crème brûlée was to die for. We will definitely be back.

Always lots of daily specials and the food is always delicious. I almost always order a salad with blackened salmon… yummy. Great wine list for an extra oomph in your day. Service is attentive without being bothersome especially during a business meeting. Park in their lot outside. Screw the meters.

It has been years since I had visited Ken Stewart’s. Thinking of going somewhere special les me to reserving a table a few Friday nights ago. From the moment my party sat down, we all felt relaxed and yet attended to. The décor is tasteful in the main dining area, the menu is diverse for most and the quality and presentation is 4+ stars. The filet Trio was a fun dish to enjoy with three differently prepared mini filets. The ahi tuna is a very generous portion and perfectly prepared. The salads are creatively mastered while the deserts are to die for. We will be back!

What can I say? It’s my home town and favorite restaurant. I compare every owner to Ken Stewart because he is the epitomy of perfection and restaurant excellence. Love, the Grille, The Lodge, TreBelle and now the newest in downtown Cleveland! Awesome food, first class dining experience and beautiful comfortable décor.

My husband and I continue to come here twice a month, probably, for date nights. Its hard to find a place that has better service and food quality than Ken Stewarts. We have gone to a lot of other high-quality restaurants in the Akron-Cleveland area and keep coming back here! They have amazing food and the servers are always willing to make changes for whatever you request. We just went on vacation to Mexico and stayed at a very high end hotel, which had amazing food. We both told each other that the only place in Ohio that has better food than this is Ken Stewarts!

I’ve been patronizing this place for well over 20 years. Today I have decided I am over it. So many tacky things between the bar manager snacking on food behind the bar to the place, well, needing a way past due complete remodel.

service was really good. very nice music of choices. Not too loud and but just loud enough that i don’t hear other people’s conversation next table. Food was amazing. i had an Old Fashion. It was a little weak. Other than that, nice dining experience for couples.

Ken Stewarts Grille definitely doesn’t have the most innovative menu but if you’re feeling a little spendy and want a leisurely, consistent dining experience with food you probably wouldn’t make for yourself, KSG is the place. They make this scallop-beurre-blanc dish in Fall that makes me deliriously happy. I went for lunch out on the patio that, despite it’s proximity to Market St., is very cozy and well-appointed. I had an intense craving for their Angus sliders and, as always, they delivered. Three perfectly cooked sliders, one peppercorn, one mushroom and swiss and one cheddar and bacon served with their home fries. Perfect and reasonably priced lunch fare. Add to that a Sloe Gin Fizz(I must have been channeling my grandmother) and KSG’s absolutely DIVINE peach bread pudding with whiskey sauce and vanilla ice cream and the afternoon was complete. Could have used stretchy pants… I have been to Ken’s many times and the service had always been impeccable. Servers never rush and are always well informed of the menu. The key to Ken’s is to hit ½ off apps and martinis on Wednesdays and Fridays. Total freaking steal. I rarely go on any other nite. You really can’t get better food for the price on those nights. Great for a group with tons of apps to share. And they make a mean martini…
