Walked in and told to sit anywhere with barely a hello. Dark as a dungeon with no one in the place. Bartender and waitress more interested in gossiping and checking their phones. Answers to our questions seemed to be a burden to them. We ordered lunch portions so they just overcrowded a side dish with the meal. My shepards pie was bright red in the middle so needless to say that ruined my appetite. No one seems to care about this place and it shows. We won’t be back.

What a joke. Don’t bother. I had soup and ½ sandwich. Pasty potato leek soup and soggy corned beef sandwich. Actually corned beef special to my surprise because the menu said corned beef sandwich, not special. My husband’s inside out burger sucked. First and last time eating here.

Wanted to try here after being in the area. Came in and there was a «seat yourself sign», we sat and it was not busy. Waited 10 minutes no one came to take our order — I walked up to get menus myself. Another 10 minutes… nothing. I tried to get the attention of a waitress and was ignored. We ended up leaving after 25 minutes of no service.

I’m going to keep this short and sweet as I hate long reviews. I had the Shepard’s pie which was OK, and the French onion soup which was slightly better than the Shepard’s pie. My boyfriend ordered the double chicken breast entrée with mashed potatoes and string beans. The chicken had NO flavor, none at all, the mashed potatoes were luke warm and tasteless and the string beans were uncooked and tasteless. Only thing good was the Sierra Nevada pale ale which never disappoints ;)

Went there Sunday night. Walked in with a party of 3. Sat ourselves, waited 10 minutes before going to the bar to ask if there is any table service. The bartender/waitress Kristen comes over and gives an excuse that she didn’t see us come in or why no one came over to take care of us. We ordered drinks and she got them within a few minutes, came back 15 minutes later to take our order but makes no apologies for the amazing service we are getting. We order our food, 20 minutes go by, she brings small side plates, 15 more minutes go by and the other servicer seems completely capable to take care of her customers but Kristen is not. Finally our food arrives. Once again she makes no apologies for the slow service but since my burger is almost cold I assume she was too busy flirting with the guys at the bar to get our order in a timely fashion. After she finally returns I tell her how I feel about the service. She doesn’t make eye contact with me but keeps staring at the TV screen as if a customer complaining is no big deal. She even says the management lets the employees leave with no regard to how many customers they have, she makes claim that they are short handed and didn’t expect a large party to show up,(party of 11 the other server is taking care of by herself with no customer complaints), She makes no argument to the fact that she is too busy hanging out talking to guys at the bar, not serving them, just flirting, but claims it is perfectly normal. We have been there every month, sometimes twice a month for the past 6 months, but if this useless creature is ever to be our server again we cannot take a chance of going back. the food is what we expect and even like. But with this kind of service the food would have to fall under amazing for us to return. The Dubliner should invest in servers that are capable of having personality or ability over a great ass since that is all this girl had to offer here. I give a two. Would be a 4 star because I like the food and atmosphere but the crappy service brings it to a 1 star place.

The O’Day’s Chicken tenders with Jameson Whisky Sauce was delicious. I’ve never had that type of hot sauce and it was tasty. It was more buffalo than BBQ style which was not really what I expected. I was thinking it would be like Friday’s Jack Daniels sauce. Normally buffalo sauce is too spicy for me, but this one was just right and it was pretty tasty. The potato skins were delicious. They weren’t gigantic as some places serve and they had just the right amount of toppings. I would recommend. The wait staff during the afternoon doubled as a bartender and she was very friendly and courteous.

OK :(Sadly just OK. They had what they called corned beef and cabbage, and it did involve corned beef and cabbage, but it did not equate to the picture in my mind.(mind = big cunks of corned beef in a light broth with potatoes and cabbage Dubliner= warmed up sandwich corned beef, sauteed cabbage and mashed potatoes) Didn’t know I’d be so picky right — and the sad this is normally I’m not, but when you have something on your mind, the only thing that quells the craving is what you want or something better! I’m going to have to keep trying. On a POSITIVE note… and when I say POSITIVE I mean with five +‘s — Dubliner Delight, homemade flakey pastry with vanilla Ice Cream, whipped cream and honey/brown sugar/whiskey sauce and a DOUBLECHOCOLATEPEANUTBUTTERSTOUT for desert! Dinner wasn’t my fav, but they hooked me right back in with the desert and while I may not eat here again, I’d stop in for desert every… I mean any day of the week :)

The walls are green, they have lots of Irish whiskey and Guinness. Food is good bar food but its not a culinary treat. The staff is young and cherry. Service is good. It fits the bill of a good Irish Bar.

Never been impressed with this place. It looks nice on the inside but looks aren’t everything. Only had beers while there so it’s pretty hard to mess up a beer. Staff seemed to be more concerned with their friends or regulars than taking care of us. Bar food was so-so. Not impressed at the quality or the flavoring. We left rather quickly and unsatisfied.

I love the Dubliner exactly for what it is. It’s a great local spot for a bite to eat or to have a few drinks. It’s cozy, the ambiance is comfortable. The owner is great and I’ve never seen anyone in restaurant management work as hard as he does. I’ve had them host my fiancé’s going away party and they were very accommodating and made it so much easier on me.

I’ve never been a huge fan of the Dubliner. I found their service to be friendly, but their prices are a little high for me. Last time I went there, they wanted 10 bucks for an order of wings. There are plenty of other bars in absecon.

The Dubliner sucks! I went there with my girlfriend recently. We went in sat down, it was seat yourself. The waitress came up with plastic place mats which also is the menu. We noticed 80% of the food was fried. My girlfriend ordered the black and bleu inside out burger which on the menu they acted like it was a «Dubliner specialty» She ordered it medium, and it came out Raw. Not Rare, RAW! Red mushy meat inside, she sent it back and it came out again RAW!!!, sent it back a second time and it came back Extremely well done! She only ate like 3 bites and didn’t want it. I ordered fish an chips and it was extremely greasy and the batter just fell off the fish when you picked it up. Chips were okay but nothing I can’t do myself with a white potato and hot oil. I bet if I went to Ireland I wouldn’t have been served such appalling food and isn’t that the point? Irish pubs are supposed to make you feel like your in Ireland right? Charlee(another reviewer) stated that serving imported beer on tap doesn’t make you special and I fully agree. I know plenty of bars who serve Guinness, Harpers and Smithwicks on tap. In a nutshell I will not be coming back. There are fast food chains that serve better food… which IMO is the worst critique you can give any sit down restaurant.

The Dubliner basically sucks. It feels NOTHING like an Irish pub inside. Irish pubs(on which I’ve become an expert by proxy, since boyfriend’s family name is McGinnis) are supposed to be dark, cozy, and at least somewhat friendly… Dubliner is none of these things. I’ve now eaten here twice and experienced the bar/nightlife once. I won’t be back. Tables are practically stacked on top of one another on the restaurant side. I was here for Quizzo, and even my little self had to shimmy past people to get to the bathroom. I agree that Irish pubs should have a «tight» feeling, but this was ridiculous. I thought the prices were outrageous for what they offer. $ 7 for a «veggie plate appetizer???» You mean to tell me you cut up some vegetables that you bought wholesale and plopped them on a plate with a side of ranch and you’re charging $ 7? Come on!!! They have some«authentic» Irish dishes: shepherd’s pie, bangers & mash… I’m not buying it. This place is so damn tacky. The first time I ate here I ordered chicken fingers(I’m 5 apparently), and had some of boyfriend’s Dubliner chips. Chicken was okay; you’d really have to be an idiot to eff up frozen chicken tenders that you threw in a deep fryer. Dubliner chips weren’t bad, but I’ve definitely had better homemade versions. Last time here they had what looked like an awesome special: grilled shrimp and scallop skewers with fresh vegetables and rice. At a pricepoint of $ 8, I was pretty psyched. Until it arrived at the table. The shrimp, no joke, were the mini shrimps I steam for salads. The scallops were equally puny. There were literally 2 baby shrimp and 1 scallop on each of the 2 skewers. That’s right, 4 baby shrimp and 2 scallops total. Who is this going to fill up!!! They were so damn hard to see on the skewers though because the vegetable chunks were friggin huge!!! The vegetables were probably the best part of this meal, which is a shame because it could have been sooo much better if Dubliner chose not to be so cheap. The very thin layer of rice on the bottom of the plate was okay… it was obviously Minute Rice but whatever. The server was actually really sweet and I felt bad that it looked like just her running around to all these crammed tables of obnoxious drunk kids. Dubliner prides itself on serving Guinness, Smithwicks, and Harp on tap… sorry Dub, but I’ve been on cruise ships that serve all of these beers on tap. You’re not special, and you’re certainly not an Irish pub.

The Dubliner is a decent place. There’s nothing wrong with it, but there’s nothing remarkable, either. It has standard bar food for standard prices, and the usually selection of crappy beers for reasonable prices or decent beers with a high profit margin. Most of my friends seem to like their wraps.

I stopped by this place during a whirl-wind tour of the northeast about a month and a half ago. Most of the restaurants I visited seemed to blur together. This place stuck out, though. I was there from noon until about three catching up with friends. Food was good, service was friendly and fast. Next time I’m back in the area I would definitely stop in.
