Before our trip north back home from AC we stopped here for breakfast. I had the French Toast with a side of sausage along with coffee. It was delicious! Service was fast and courteous. Food also was prepared properly and fast. Prices were reasonable, would recommend this place to others. It says it is under new ownership, not sure how recent that is.

This place was a go to spot in college. I know that it was closed and sold. I was passing through the area and thought I should stop in just for old times sake. The layout is of course the same. Some stuff was spruced up. It looked clean and the staff was very nice. I was glad to see that they added a few items in the breakfast menu. I got what was essentially a bacon, egg and cheese wrap with potatoes on the side. The potatoes were meh, but the wrap was really damn good. It was pretty well stuffed, big too, and put under a panini press, so it was nice and grilled. I was more than satisfied and ready to continue my journey. This place always held a special spot in my heart and I’m glad it’s in good hands.

Went here for dinner last week the appetizers were good, I should have stopped there. I had the French onion soup which was tasteless followed it up with what was supposed to be prime rib. I should have had breakfast.

We were just here half an hour ago. I ordered from the Wednesday special the chicken portabella, comes with a small cup of soup, salad, coffee and desert. The chicken was undercooked so I ended up returning it and ordered western omelette instead. When we got our check, they charged $ 2.49 for the soup and $ 4.59 for the salad, which I thought not right since they served us an undercooked chicken. Do not come to this Diner the taste and quality of food is not worth the amount of money you will pay.

Was driving on the pike and saw that the Galloway diner had reopened so I decided to stop in and give it a try… i was with my husband and kids… we ordered broiled seafood combo prime rib and the kids got chicken fingers… the meals came with soup or salad got Manhattan clam and cream of turkey and it was delicious. Food came out quickly… our server name was Ashley she was very pleasant and came back twice to fill our drinks and check on us… when we were finished eating she brought the kids ice cream and also asked if we would like anything… Definitely worth the stop and we will be returning

Was happy to hear that the diner was reopening. Happy to say the food was great and the service was amazing!!! our servers name was Jennifer, she was pleasant and everything came out in a timely fashion. This will definitely be our home again considering we live around the corner.

Just ate at the Galloway diner and had an experience I wasn’t expecting. Had a Mediterranean panini and enjoyed every bite of it with some disco fries. Each bite of the of it had a crisp crunch with juiciness of the chicken and pesto. Service was nice. The server checked up on me a 2 times after I ordered before I asked for the check. Once to see how everything was as well as if I’d like anything else to drink. The second time after I had finished my meal for a dessert option. All the cakes are from an in house baker and looked absolutely delicious. Definitely worth coming back to the Galloway diner.

Back in high school, I use to be a huge fan of the galloway diner. Well, times have changed and now it’s under a new owner. So I stopped in here with my dad… since he insisted and was paying. I looked over the menu and thought it was a bit pricey for diner prices but then again I haven’t been to a diner in years. I saw the other Unilocal views and figured I’d be on the safe side and order chicken fingers. They were served with fries and ok. Super salty for some reason… but I’m not that picky. I think what gets me the most is the service and atmosphere. I’m convinced the owner is having the employees park in the front or something. There was 4 tables there… and a packed parking lot. Yeah, makes no sense to me. I also felt uncomfortable with all the standing around the employees did behind the counter areas and the other kiosk. I’ve been a server before and I’m curious to why no cuts have been made so a server can make money because it was not bumping in there at all… Oh well, end of rant. Food came out fast, but I like I said…4 other tables were in there.

One of the worst meals ever. Four of us went for dinner and only one had an edible meal. Stale rolls that were burned trying to reheat, cold and I mean cold hard mashed potatoes and beef so under cooked no one felt safe eating it. How hard is it to make chopped steak? Worst part of the whole experience was manager who clearly didn’t care. From this experience I would have to say this place is a total failure.

This was my second visit here, and so-so is the same as the first visit was. My wife ordered sweet potato pancakes, I ordered regular pancakes. They came out in an acceptable time. Mine were a little coarser than I would expect in pancake consistency but were hot. My wife said hers tasted funny. She NEVER complains, but she actually called the server over and explained that they tasted sour and could she please have regular pancakes instead. It took them about 15 minutes to bring over the replacement pancakes which were the same as mine except I had been done eating for ten minutes by then. I think anyone understands it takes about 3 minutes to cook pancakes so they were dragging their feet. Both she and I have been in the serving industry and know that if someone has a meal problem you get them their food ASAP because they have already had something other than a good experience. The server said his«supervisor» was giving him a hard time because they were sent back. I suggested that he tell the supervisor to come over and see me(which no one did). I paid the bill which was about $ 16 for pancakes with 1 coffee only, and no other side orders. I told the person at the register who appeared to be an owner about this, and she was aware of it by stating«I took the potato pancakes off». I suggested that she have someone check the batter because my wife said the pancakes were sour to which she said the server told her we sent them back because they were too soft. First visit was lunch, and I wouldn’t go for that again, second was this time and I probably wouldn’t go back for breakfast which is too bad because the restaurant is 5 minutes from my house and we were really hoping it would be good. The people that own the Galloway Diner own another one somewhere near Toms River and have been open for several months here now so any opening«jitters» should be long worked out. I have only spoken to one other person who has gone there and they blasted the sauce that came with their chicken wings as «terrible» and the meatloaf looked plastic and tasted that way according to their group, so there goes dinner.

I made a Unilocal account just to write about this experience. I was at the same table as a fellow poster. My friend had ordered a pasta dish which came out fifteen minutes after our meal, after we were told it would be right out when we first got our food. We were done with our meals by the time my friends meal came out. We had to request to speak to the manager, he did not try to come over and apologize for the situation. 3⁄5 of us had worked in a restaurant before and completely understood that these things happen. Once we called the manager over and told him we were upset with the situation, he snapped at us that they’re just reopening, they’re understaffed, and they haven’t advertised yet and just received a rush. In reality, they received one more table in the restaurant. That is not a rush, and if you are understaffed– then don’t open! And clearly because you haven’t advertised yet, it directly affects pasta being boiled. It was ridiculous– It one excuse after another without out any solution. Our waitress came over to us and said she could give us a free dessert. We appreciated that… even after several minutes of us over hearing them talking about us… Since they stood directly behind our booth in the counter area. That wasn’t awkward at all. However, he should have come over to us and talked to us himself. Whether the whole situation was that she thought it would be right out or not, the manager should not have put his job on her to continuously confront and control the situation. That was out of her pay grade and the restaurant was not busy at all, there were 2⁄3 tables. We all ordered drinks, meals, and appetizers. There literally wasn’t any room on the table left to put dessert! My friend asked instead if she could have something taken off the bill. She went back again to talk to the manager and again was sent over and told us she could take 20% off. When we approached the manager to pay at the register, he said the 20% was only to be taken off of her meal and that he would get fired if he took more. Actually, what would get you fired is YOURBADATTITUDE and customer service. It was a very uncomfortable dining experience that did not at all need to get to that point. Being a fellow server, I cannot give this establishment more than 2 stars because of how disrespected I felt as a guest. I took the time to make a Unilocal because of how awful this dining experience was! Beware.

Well, new owners. That’s about it. Of all the local diners this experience was the worse by far from the service to the food, just lousy. Server didn’t seem to have a clue. Stated 3 soups… Manhattan clam, cauliflower and French onion. Ordered cauliflower… Got. Crab bisque? It was good but Wth… lol… Anyway… Had to ask for bread twice, it came with our dinners… Cold. 2 rolls for 3 people. Ummmmm… Not the way you do it. She wasn’t sure of what salad dressings they had either… Ok One order was hot wings, came on a plate, dry wings, with a saucer of hot sauce. Again… No Order two… Meatloaf. Dry. actually looked fake… Baked potato. Over cooked, skin was actually black. Yuck. A saucer of corn… I say saucer because it’s a tiny flat bowl… Anyway. Order 3 had no complaints… only that it was a tiny portion for diner food. Server was polite, nice… Tipped 20% …not her fault she wasn’t trained properly and the cook has culinary issues. Will give it another shot to see if things have improved on a later date. At this rate it’s not going to be around long.
