Bar el Francés

Packed bar with all of the french speakers in Tarifa. There’s an option for bar seating and outdoor seating, but you can only do tapas at the bar, which is what we opted for. We managed to eventually find a corner and then started picking out tapas. The staff was friendly and because all of the tapas on display, it’s pretty easy to just point at what you want, but be careful not to hit someone eating in front of the display (itty bitty eating space). You can go up multiple times and it doesn’t matter who helps you: they’re pretty good at keeping track of what everyone ordered.
The food itself was fine, but not memorable, maybe french tapas just aren’t our thing. The entrees looked good so maybe that’s what we’ll have to do if we return to Tarifa. However, the prices are good and you get something different and lighter than typical Spanish fare. Also, nice wine selection and if you like tuna, there are a lot of tuna options.

De viaje con los amigos, acabamos en Tarifa para pasar unos días. Tras el viaje en coche y el calor propio de la tierra en julio, nuestras ganas de meternos en la casa que habíamos alquilado y preparar algo para comer tendían a cero…
Paseando por el centro, buscamos un sitio para comer y, por recomendación de una buena amiga, nos encontramos con El Francés y entramos.
Solicitamos una mesa en la terraza y, a pesar de estar lleno, nos la dieron bastante rápido.
El servicio (en gran parte, francés) fue atento en todo momento y la comida… Espectacular. La calidad de la materia prima era evidente, y el pescado era fresquísimo.
Os dejo unas fotos de algunos de los platos que pedimos.
–Ensalada de chipirones con hierbas variadas, limoneta y jengibre.
–Atún a la plancha (buenísimo)
–Berenjenas con mermelada de tomate y queso de cabra.
Fue, definitivamente, un acierto.

Mince je né sais plus si les cartes de crédits sont acceptées ou pas. Pas grave, si vous êtes à Tarifa (Espagne, Andalousie, juste plus en-​dessous on est dans l’eau), allez casser une graine à Bar el Francès. Le nom dit tout, c’est tenu par un Français, et c’est ce qu’on y cause quand on maîtrise pas l’Ibérique, ça arrange. En plus l’accueil a été très sympa par la très mignonne et très grande serveuse brune cheveux courts (je veux qu’elle se reconnaisse), et c’était très bon et très raisonnable.
Après on se balade dans la vieille et charmante Tarifa, ses ruelles blanches et fraîches, pleines d’une silencieuse Histoire, et on va perdre des heures son regard sur les côtes marocaines, au-​delà du Détroit de Gibraltar…

Bar el frances ist finde ich eine durchschnittliche Tapas Bar. Wir mussten wirklich sehr lange auf unser essen, bzw auf das bestellen und zahlen und trinken warten.
Die Auswahl an Tapas war sehr gut, die Tapas Portionen mir an diesem Abend sogar zu groß, es ist jedoch kein Ort der mir lange in Erinnerung bleiben wird.
