Montroig

The food here is pretty good for breakfast and dinner and it’s a great place to just sit and watch people walk by. The best part is that it also has FREE WIFI! I like the open air feeling of the place — it’s very spacious and has high ceilings. VERY CLEAN restrooms too.

Skip it. No, really.
We got the eggs and the mushroom omelette. I’m not sure how you can ruin eggs, but Montroig definitely did. The poached eggs were like stale and runny but not fluffy or mouth-​watering.
The mushroom omelette tasted like cardboard, and basically the only thing that was edible from the order was the toast.
One pro: people watching while sitting outside is fun.

On Sitges main drag (of the same name) and on route to and from the beach this is a popular gathering point and very family friendly. It’s also enormous with an extensive front terrace, rear garden and internal atrium. Bright, airy with gentle easy listening background music it is a ‘relax station’ in the hubbub of Sitges life. A good range of typical Spanish bar food — bocadillos (French bread sandwiches), salads, burgers and the ilk. The salads are great (mine was chicken, mango and alfalfa) and tasty nutritious smoothies (acai and blueberry for me). Not a regular haunt but great for a breather and refuel.

Hay varias cosas que me encantan de este lugar.
En primer lugar, cuando entras tienes una sensación de amplitud muy agradable y el que el local tenga dos ambientes combinados en el mismo espacio ayuda.
Situado en la calle Dos de Mayo (calle del pecado), destaca por ser uno de los cafés-​bares-​restaurantes mas amplios de la zona.
Mesas exteriores todo lo ancho de la fachada del local y en su interior un techo descubierto que le da una gran luminosidad.
El centro del local destaca por sus sofás de mimbre que invitan a acomodarte y disfrutar de una agradable charla con amigos o tu pareja, o simplemente leer un libro, el periódico…
El resto del establecimiento rompe esa decoración con mesas y sillas blancas donde disfrutar de un copioso desayuno especial, como suele ser mi caso, con un zumo natural de naranja, dos tostadas y un croissant junto con dos tarifas de mermelada, una de miel y dos de mantequilla para untar y para finalizar un café (como puedes imaginarte hambre no vas a pasar) todo esto por 4,95 euros.
Si todavía tienes hambre, al mediodía disponen de menú y por la tarde puedes tomarte alguna cosita.
Todo esto acompañado de wifi gratis.
¿Se puede pedir mas?
Yo responderia que si, el único motivo por el que le dio 4 estrellas y no cinco.
Hay ocasiones, cuando baja el personal, que el servicio es un pelin lento para que te pidan la comanda y para cobrar después.
Por todo lo demás, es mi local favorito para desayunar, ahora si, después, un buen paseo por la playa para bajar todo el desayuno!!!

Watch your bill though. The waiter screwed up and ordered two of everything and sure enough, it was on or bill. Sketchy sketchy.

Si alguna vez queréis hacerme feliz llevadme a Sitges.
Hos os recomiendo un local de esos que para mi es un «must»: el Montroig. Situado en el carrer del Pecat, no os lo podéis perder. Está al lado de los Vikingos y los dos locales son clásicos en la ciudad del Garraf.
El Montroig es uno de esos locales que uno no puede pasar por alto. Si tenéis hambre por la mañana es muy recomendable. ¿Qué queréis? ¿Una pasta y un café? Muy miserable pero comprensible. ¿Unas tostadas? Tienen. ¿Un batido de frutas recién hecho? lo tienen. ¿Desayunar una tortilla? Hecho. ¿Un desayuno inglés? También lo tienen. Si alguna vez no encontráis lo que queréis será porque sois un poco especialitos (con cariño lo digo).
Si preferís ir a comer tampoco hay problema. Tienen bocadillos vegetales, de pavo, con pollo, hamburguesas, algunos platos sueltos y podéis tomar uno de esos zumos de frutas que he mencionado.
Y si sólo queréis un cafetito o un te, o alguna infusión de media tarde porque ya estamos mayores y eso de ir a Pacha o a la Atlàntida ha quedado atrás: también lo tienen.
El servicio es lo más complicado. Dependiendo de donde os sentéis os tocará alguien muy eficiente o un pequeño desastrillo. Eso es como parte de la experiencia, nunca sabes si tu camarer@ será más o menos bueno.
Tienen terraza en el interior, lo que parece una paradoja pero no lo es y en todo el local hay unos ventiladores gigantescos en el techo que generan una brisa ínfima pero suficiente para no morir en el bochorno veraniego del Mediterráneo.
Una vez en vuestra vida, please, hacedme caso y pasaos por ahí para tomar algo. Quizá nos encontramos!

Great english breakfats! Unbeatable location and quick service. I have my breakfast here everytime im in sitges.

I came for a late breakfast. It’s was a beautiful setting, but it took a while to get a waiter’s attention. My delicious eggs came quickly (albeit with a little eggshell for extra calcium), but I had to remind them 15 minutes later to bring my coffee. They seem to be understaffed, but the location is great and the environment is very pleasant. Just be prepared for a leisurely visit!
Revised: I decided to eat here again and have raised my review from three stars to four. Service was better this time; perhaps my timing was just poor before!

Fantastic open air café with free wifi, great coffee, fresh smoothies and delicious sandwiches and snacks. Probably not the place for your main meal but a super spot to retreat to the shade from the beach. Snag a table on the front row if you want to see and be seen.

Un endroit très sympa un peu rétro pour boire un verre ou prendre un brunch jusqu’à 14h avant ou après la plage !
Des smoothies top, une carte variée, des prix corrects et un service efficace !

Bueno más que un lugar recomendado se ha convertido en un punto de referencia tanto para quedar con amigos y tomar un café, o desayunar algo completito, El lugar es genial, si consigues sitio en la terraza no te aburrirás ! ! !. Calidad precio «CORRECTA»

Gut, preislich akzeptabel und lecker. Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und für Spanien recht schnell :-) Free WIFI. Wer Menschen gucken will ist hier auch richtig Zu empfehlen.

Vom Ambiente und der Lage sicher ein Café mit 5 Sterne Wertung. Sommer wie Winter geöffnet und mit seiner langen Fensterfront in einer der Flaniermeilen im Sommer sicher ein Genuss, um sehen und gesehen zu werden. Innen ist die Einrichtung sehr kühl gehalten. Der riesige Lichthof und der dahinter liegende Innenhof, gleichen das bei schönem Wetter wieder aus.
Den Service empfinde ich zumeist in der Nebensaison als meist unfreundlich. In der Hauptsaison gehe ich da erst gar nicht hin, es sei denn Freunde bestehen darauf. ;-) Ach ich vergas es fast, der Café schmeckte mir an anderen Plätzen in Sitges besser.

Sicher eine Art Kult-​Begegnungsstätte in Sitges. Mir gefallen die örtlichen Gegebenheiten.
Die Lage auf einer der Hauptflanierstraßen ist perfekt. Sehen und gesehen werden ist hier das Motto. In den Sommermonaten sicher immer sehr gut besucht, denn da sind ja viele Touristen da und da sind gerade an diesem Platz andere Dinge wichtiger, als leckere Speisen und Getränke zu sich zu nehmen. ;-)
In der Nebensaison, also so in den Monaten November — April habe ich andere Cafés in der Nähe besser besucht gesehen.
Einheimische verkehren wohl demnach dort weniger, wie ich feststellen durfte, und das aus gutem Grunde. Zweimal haben wir es zu mehreren probiert und obwohl gerade mal mit dem schönen Innenhof und dem Innenteil nebst Aussenterrasse auf dem «Catwalk» vielleicht mal 8 Tische besetzt waren, war der Service etwas sehr «lahmarschig», wie ich zu sagen pflegte. Hinzu kommt, das wir hier wohl für unseren Geschmack den schlechtesten Café und Milchkaffee getrunken haben. Die Bocadillos waren auch nicht der Hit. Also es geht in vielen anderen Lokalitäten besser und deshalb nur 3 Sterne von mir.

Sehen und gesehen werden ist das Motto dieses Cafes /​Restaurants. Das Café liegt an der Hauptflanierstrasse von Sitges und dementsprechend viel Bewegung ist den ganzen Abend vor dem Café.
Trotz der Größe des Ladens sind nur die Galerieplätze ausserhalb wirklich begehrt. Denn hier wird man auch gesehen, was für diverse Nachtschwärmer wohl noch wichtiger ist. Die Hofseite wird ist bestimmt auch schön, wird aber nur von größeren Gruppen besucht.
Wir sitzen ganz gerne drinnen in der ersten oder zweiten Reihe, denn hier kann man über die Galerieplätze hinweg sehen. Wobei drinnen hier auch eher überdacht bedeutet. Denn das Café ist nach aussen und zum Innenhof vollkommen offen und das bedeutet in den wärmeren Monaten, es gibt immer einen angenehmen Luftzug.
Die Einrichtung ist eher praktisch ansprechend und haut niemanden aus den Latschen — genauso wenig wie die Bedienung. Insbesondere zu den Stosszeiten abends muss man sich schon mal sehr gedulden, da die Spanier hier ihr eigenes nicht ganz durchsichtiges System haben.
Allzu viel Freundlichkeit sollte man vom gestressten Personal dann auch nicht erwarten. Aber man kann durchaus Glück haben.
Es gibt eine Speisekarte mit Sandwiches, Burgern und einigen Hauptspeisen — dazu die üblichen Getränke. Zum Empfehlen sei die Sangria, die wirklich aus sehr leckerem Wein gemacht wird.
Das Essen hingegen ist nur Mittelmass und bedarf häufig des Salz– und Pfefferstreuers.
Die Preise dagegen sind — wie soll man es anders erwarten auf dem Strip — gehoben. 1 Sangria plus Hamburger und Sandwich = 24 EUR.
Fazit: Besser essen kann man im näheren Umfeld alle Mal. Aber so schön kucken und gekuckt werden kann man nur hier.

Bester Platz auf dem Strip

I normally panic when faced with a large array of restaurants and bars in which to choose to eat atI’m rubbish at making such decisions, always striving for perfection. As I didn’t know Sitges too well and we were all pretty ravenous we happened on this lively looking place, whilst on the scheme of things didn’t quite look like the small back street family run restaurant we were after, nevertheless did a good job of feeding and watering us rather well.
Huge space inside (reminded me of an old Wild West saloon) with another eating area out back (which is where we plonked ourselves). Very pleasant too, sat amongst vines and various plants and wildlife (tame birds popping in to say hola).
The front seating area was full of folk people watching to the point that walking down this street feels like a trip down a catwalk. All good fun though.
Standard fare is served here, nothing too adventurous but the sandwiches/panini’s really hit the spot.
Friendly service if a little slow at times, but hey we were not in any rush that day.

Very pleasant, open from morning till late. The food is average, what makes this a place to visit is the free WIFI. Just take your laptop and order a drink.
Very spacious, tables out the front to watch the world go by and additional outside space at the rear.
