La Oca doesn’t look like much from the outside. The entrance is small, rather narrow, and doesn’t look like it would lead into much. To one side are 4 racks of chickens roasting on a rotisserie and on the other side a refrigerated meat case. The chickens are pretty much rotisserie chickens, the same as commonly found in many American super markets, but the meats are something else. They are very appealing, look very nice, with large sirloin(known as entrecôte, though such is generally a ribeye cut in most places) cuts of veal not commonly found in the United States which was what lured me into La Oca. Upon entering the main dining area I was surprise by its size and pleasant décor. Indeed very nice; rather upscale in appearance. I was given a standard menu in Spanish, English and French along with a daily menu. At first I was going to go for the eel, but finding that it was an imitation eel, went with the sirloin cut of veal which I had seen in their refrigerated case. Though their rotisserie chicken look good and was recommended to me by my server, I decided against it as I figured I didn’t travel all the way to Spain to merely dine on some barnyard cluck I could have just about anywhere. My meal came with a rather simple salad merely comprised of some fresh sliced red peppers, lettuce and onion with a few ripe and green olives; nothing special but not bad. As for my veal dish, it came with fries, a roasted red pepper and the veal though grilled hardly had any char to it. However, the flavor was good and the cut tender. Really the best thing about La Oca is the pleasant dining atmosphere and the service of the wait staff, all of whom were properly dress and professional in every way.

Open later — we arrived at 11pm and were starving, so decided to take a chance. Started off with a half chicken and it was incredible! You walk past an open rotisserie with the chickens roasting and they smell as great as they taste. Unfortunately it only went down hill from there. The liter of sangria was very very small and barely poured four very tiny glasses. My husband had pork sausage and bean, and I had carbonara pasta, our friends had a lamb dish and also carbonara pasta. All four dished were incredibly bland and lacked any flavor. Only one of us finished our dish and that was because he wasn’t sure what other options we would have tonight. Plain Plain Plain This meal was so very disappointing, only bright point was the half chicken that started our meal.

We called on here on our last night after we had enjoyed this place the first time we visited last year. As with our previous visit the service on here is good. There is plenty of waiters to serve and the turnover of tables is at a record speed. I had the ½ roast chicken. It was simply gorgeous. Very delicious in deed, you must try this. My partner had a pizza, and he claims its was also delicious. The price of the food in La Oca is very reasonable and that coupled with excellent service warrants the 5th star. This is a very busy restaurant and can cater to larger parties if required. The maitre dee is very welcoming and it’s nice to be acknowledged from the moment that arrive. Go visit this place, you will not regret it!

Hemos tomado el menú del día. Los huevos a la florentina estaban buenos pero el pollo a l’ast estaba demasiado seco y poco acompañado. El postre de la casa era muy escaso y la crema catalana estaba buena. La valoración final es floja, teniendo en cuenta que es un sitio especializado en pollo. El precio asequible, eso si, pero recortando de cantidad. El servicio muy amable.

El servicio atento y rápido. Hemos cogido un menú diario por 10,9 €. De primero unos huevos a la florentina que estaban buenos y la yema en su punto con espinacas y una bechamel suave. De segundo pollo acompañado con unas patatas fritas, ya que el sitio era lo que pedía al ser la especialidad, me ha sabido a poco ya que estaba estaba un pelin seco, no habría estado nada mal que lo hubiesen acompañado con un poco de alioli. De postre, tarta de la casa, en este caso de melocotón. Buena de sabor pero justa de cantidad, escasos dos dedos de grosor. La conclusión que saco es que probablemente el servicio de carta se lleve las alabanzas que le faltan al menú. Lo mejor los huevos que estaban muy buenos.

Este lugar va ganando categoría y calidad cada año que pasa, Conozco personalmente al dueño desde hace muchos años y he visto la progresión de este restaurante año tras año. La carta es extensa y variada, la comida típica está muy buena y el trato del personal es correctísimo ! ! ! Y, como siempre hago alguna observación menos positiva, de este diré que en ocasiones el precio se dispara un poco con los extras que te ofrecen sin cesar :-) de buen rollo eh!!!

GRAN servicio y buena comida a un precio bueno y razonable teniendo cuenta el sitio en el que esta, en una de las calles centrales de Sitges. Menús a 12,95 que incluyen primero, segundo, bebida y postre. El sitio es amplio y el servicio rápido y muy amable.

My wife and I had the pleasure of enjoying dinner here and I have to say, it was amazing. The service was fantastic, very friendly and attentive, food came out fast and hot and they made you feel like you were part of their family when dining in. We decided on the lasagna which came on a ceramic plate straight from the oven, it had a great mixture of bolognese sauce, ham, hard boiled eggs and of course cheese. It was the best lasagna we have ever had. We paired the lasagna with their version of garlic and they prepare it, well teach you how to prepare in such a manner that you will eat garlic bread this way for the rest of your life. I will not spoil it for you, it is definitely a must do, we will never use bread with garlic butter spread ever again, lets put it that way. I ordered the Veal steak with a side of mushrooms and peppercorn sauce, delicious to the core. This place is a hidden gem in the downtown core of Sitges and it is somewhere you have to try. What really pulled us in was the 4 racks of rotisserie chicken they have cooking right in the middle of the restaurant in the front. All of the major ovens and grills are at the front of the restaurant and you can see them make your food. Truly an amazing experience, we will go back tomorrow to try the other cuts of meat and pasta.

Really great restaurant in the city of Sitges, a small and lovelly about 50 km soth of Barcelona. Traintrip takes about 30 minutes. The is where the barceloneans go on vacation they say. Now back to business. La Oca offers many nice dishes, from meat, fish, pasta and spesially lovely pizzas. The interior is great as well.

Wer Lust auf Hähnchen hat, kann in Sitges zwischen Schnellimbiss oder urigem Restaurant entscheiden. Da die Preise sich nicht viel nehmen und beide Etablissements in kurzer Laufweite von einander liegen, haben wir das schicke Restaurant gewählt. Es liegt in der beliebten und belebten Einkaufsstrasse von Sitges und lockt schon am Eingang mit einem riesigen Grill auf dem sich die Hähnchen eine goldbraune und knusprige Haut hohlen. Also bitte nicht mit dem Strand verwechseln. Man wird freundlich am Eingang empfangen und zu einem der Tische geleitet. Das Restaurant ist ziemlich groß hat eine schöné altmodische Balkendecke und ist freundlich und mit einem Auge fürs Details eingerichtet worden. Die Holztische und –stühle sind funktionell und urig, aber nicht besonders bequem. Hähnchen wird in Spanien ja grundsätzlich mit Messer und Gabel gegessen, was bei diesen Hähnchen auch überhaupt kein Problem ist. Unter der leckeren Haut fällt das saftige Fleisch fast alleine von den Knochen. Hmmm, das war ein Festmahl. Die Bedienung ist variabel, sprich man bestellt bei dem einen, Getränke und Essen bringen dann andere. Preise 2011⁄09: Viertel Hähnchen 4,60EUR, halbes 7,95EUR, Beilagen wie Pommes um 2,50EUR, Grosses Bier 3,65EUR.
