This place is one of the possible reasons why the Spanish food in Sevilla is so much better than the Spanish food in Boston. I met up with my hostess from Gines(a suburb in the outskirts of Sevilla) and she took me and a few other people I hung out with to this place, there were probably about 5 – 8 of us that ordered. It was fairly crowded, with a decent number people, mostly Spaniards, since it was a Friday night. I had a great time eating at this place, and thought the dishes were excellently tasty. We ordered a bunch of «platos»(dishes) rather than tapas because there was a group of us. Here’s what I remembered getting with my hostess: Queso de Cabra al Horno(Baked Goat Cheese) Pez espada(Swordfish) Pijotas(I have no idea what it means in English, but it’s some sort of a fish that is fried. I think it means«hake».) Espinacas con Garbanzos(Spinach with chickpeas) Patatas Fritas con Salsa Brava(fries with a spiced up sauce) Ensalada Pollo Cocktail(this is a grilled chicken with salad) I really liked the goat cheese. It was served on a really crispy and freshly baked large piece of toasted bread. Loved the delicious flavour of the goat cheese. Probably the dish I enjoyed the most was the Pijotas. It was a little similar to eating fried calamari, crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside. The swordfish was pretty good and meaty. The Spinach also was decently good and I actually liked the chickpeas. As for the fries, one of my hostess’ friends warned me that the sauce is spicy. I ate the fries, and it was not too spicy, but I knew that the more I ate them, I needed a cold drink soon. I had a good glass of wine as my drink and it went decently well with the tasty food. Atmosphere is fairly casual, and interior is very Spanish. Chairs are fairly hard. I remember that there was a room in the back, and there were a lot of Spaniards and possibly some tourists watching a lady sing flamenco music with a Spanish guitarist. Eating at this place was not the conclusion, but the beginning of a somewhat insane night in Sevilla. Overall, I thought I had some of the best Spanish food in Sevilla so far and I have yet to find a place outside of Spain that would replicate the tasty food here. If I ate at the Spanish restaurants in the Triana neighbourhood of Sevilla, I probably would have given this place 4 Stars out of 5, but since the food was really good, and I had some dishes that are not going to be this good until I come back to Spain, I am going to give this place an excellent rating. If I come back to this place, it will probably be for the seafood, the fries, and the goat cheese.
