This place was fabulous! Just recently(Nov 2015) visited Spain and this, by far, was our favorite restaurant! Patatas Bravas to die for! And very generous servings of vino tinto! Staff was very friendly and quick service even though the place was packed! Highly recommend!

We came for a drink at the bar and their tinto list was huge so we asked for our bartender’s opinion. He was very helpful and knowledgeable too. We let him choose the wine for us and it was very nice. My first favorite Tinto Rioja in Spain – the start of my education. He clearly loves his job and wine. It is so fun to meet people like that. I wrote down his name but I lost it along the way. He is a red-head with a heavier lisp than typical in Madrid. I hope this place recognizes a wonderful employee as he is(maybe his name is George?) We came back for Sangria on another day and enjoyed watching the staff make it. After reading all the reviews, I wish we had been hungry when we came. Next time :-)

Delicious food with really reasonable prices! BUT the portions are huge. My tall male friend and I split the fried potatoes and each got our own meal — I got the Spanish tortilla and he got the paella. Really tasty but we couldn’t finish it all and were thrown in a food coma afterwards. So unless you’re ravenous, I suggest you do only one plate per person! The sangria is also delicious and a bottle was the perfect size for two people to have 3 – 4 small restaurant glasses each. :)

Really enjoyed this spot. The food was great. I made the mistake of ordering the wrong wine. Fortunately, the wine is cheap and I remedied the situation with another bottle. I had the paella and the squid. Outstanding. I plan on going back tomorrow! Great crowd and good service!

Amazing food and really nice staff. The only problem: its always full! Suggestions: Gambas al ajillo and Entrecot. Also try the Vermouth from the tap

For the type of place this is, it gets 4 stars. Not for the sophisticated or fussy diner it offers good value. My companions had Tripe and the Oxtail. both first time experiences and well worth their experiment. Another had the lamb chops and was equally impressed. My seafood paella was on dry side but OK. Having enjoyed a freshly made one a few days earlier it paled by comparison. Wine selection excellent and well priced. Server was pleasant and efficient. Visit based on review by UK Guardian newspaper. Took pix but they would only replicate those already posted. Visited over Christmas period.

We went here for lunch and the waiter was very helpful! His English was fairly decent and he told us the three most popular main dishes to order. My plate was just a ton of shrimp and it was delicious and filled with garlic. Prices were good, service was good, Id definitely come back

Bad and rude service. Bad experience. The food is «OK» good but I m totally upset about their service. Discriminate To those who don’t speak their language, which is Spanish. I didn’t speak Spanish. So, I have a dinner there a hour ago with my girlfriend. We sat down and I was ordering food, and as I was speaking, in half way, the waiter took the menu away before I complete my ordering. He Walked away quickly and randomly made some order for us(we seated close to the kitchen and heard him speak to the kitchen with random dishes name.) We were shocked and took us a while to draw him attention and asked him what he made order for us, we have to made him«stay» on our table and REORDER our food. Unbelievable, he showed no interested to listen and ended up missed one of our orders as I laterally told him 3 dishes that we Would like to order. 1) fried mushroom(it’s ok, cheap but very oily) 2) tripe stew(not bad) and 3) paella(which is the missing one) and 2 drinks. At the end, We finished the 2 dishes and drinks and no paella. We waited 20min and still nothing! We were pissed and We called the bill and the same waiter took FOREVER to give us the bill and found out he didn’t make the paella order for us. No apology and took the bill immediately, Rushed, right after I paid. Why I felt discriminated because we observe the same waiter while we WAITING for our PAELLA, he would talk to other customers who speak in Spanish and spend much more time to make their order. Left with unsatisfactory and hungry stomach. Worst dining experience in Madrid. Sad. Please don’t support this restaurant. There are many other great food and better service restaurant. I made a bad choice.

Were looking for a nice late night place to grab some drinks(sangria and cerveza to be exact) and Fatigas del Querer delivered. There were a few bar seats and lots of tables here to lounge around and additionally enjoy some tapas. We were there just for drinks, but they also gave us some complimentary mini cracker sticks and mini chorizo sausages with our drink purchase. There are a lot of food and drink options on Calle de la Cruz but it doesn’t seem like you can go wrong here. My brother loves«sweeter» sangria and the sangria here was definitely on the sweeter side with a few chunks of fruit and not overkilled with red wine.

This restaurant is super busy! They serve tapas, but the portions are huge! I was used to the small sized tapas and accidentally over ordered. I ordered: — Shrimp with garlic sauce — This was good, but anything in garlic sauce is good. — Patata Bravas — Probably the best I had in Madrid. The potatoes were fresh and I really loved the sauce! — Oxtail with potatoes — This was so big! We couldn’t finish the oxtail, which made me so sad. But the oxtail was yummy! The meat was so tender that it was falling apart and melt in your mouth ready. I wish there was more sauce. Tip: I’d recommend only order the Oxtail or Patata Bravas and not both, unless you have a lot of people. We had way too many potatoes left over. — Paella — It was OK. Too fishy for my taste. Not something I’d highly recommend The service was decent as well. It’s hard to flag waiters down when they’re busy but also because we are tourists and just have a hard time communicating sometimes. Not a must try, but definitely better than all the restaurants near the touristy areas!

Food: After running the Rock n’ Roll Madrid Marathon, I was super hungry. So I walked from my room to this place based on the reviews. I ordered their paella, the tripe stew, and a glass of Berceo red wine. The paella was pretty good and I love seafood! But the tripe stew wasn’t that great. It was a bit overcooked and chewy for my taste. Service: I had good service and they were able to understand English, but my waiter totally sized me up and thought I couldn’t eat everything that I wanted to order. So I had to prove it to him by eating the paella first and then ordered the tripe stew. That caused a rather lengthy wait because it took a while to cook the tripe stew. I guess it’s not a very popular item on the menu. Location: It was pretty loud and seemed like a really popular place to be.

favorite tapas joint we hit up in madrid. chiperones a la plancha were fantastic… sepia a la plancha was well executed and legit overflowing the plate. server was young but awesome… even letting us know that he thought we ordered too much food… hahah. little did he know we had grown second stomachs for our trip to spain. :). chorizo was beautiful glistening on warm bread… and the rioja de la casa for one euro 80 was better than a 15 dollar glass in the US. awesome spot for people watching if you can get the same table we did at the very front. big fan of this place.

Ok, this place seems like a scene, people are loud and want to have some fun! It’s a packed house tonight. We had to wait a bit, before we got a seat. What we ordered: Sangrias: We had to order another round, since it was yummy Tripe stew– Yes, this is not for the faint of heart! Haha, the waiter kept on warning us, you sure, you want this… we said«yes.» This is a heavy and more traditional dish. But, gosh, it was sooo tasty! Omelette-tasted like potatoes and mayo, but still ymmy Shiitake mushrooms-fried dip in ranch dressing, different twist other than calamari? Not bad Paella-was average, but I thought it went well with the tripe stew.

Madrid is one of my favorite cities. From the wonderful people to the plethora of Tapas Bar’s. SO when me and a friend walked into Fatigas del Querer, I was so pleasantly surprised to see how friendly the staff was. Actually not surprised at all, as we were treated like Canadian’s and not the American degenerate pig bastard, that we have become everywhere, except Thailand. That being said the bartenders kept us busy with our broken Spanish and there better English. Try the Iberico, Try the Chorizo, try, try, try! Loved it all. The wine the food the company! Although I thought Florida shrimp aioli is better, I was still impressed. Can’t wait to get on a plane again.
