In Spain again. Luckily Unilocalers are taking over Madrid(thank God!), so BC we are around in the Malasaña neighborhood and we have been walking by this restaurant daily we decided to give it a try. We had 3 appetizers(entrantes): house salad mixta, jamón ibérico de bellota, and pulpo a la gallega. The food tasted delicious, the presentation was great and the service was outstanding. The waiter was very courteous and welcoming. He offered us a special local wine and care for us the rest of our meal. We had coffee for dessert and the ambience was very calm and quiet. We enjoyed our meal very mucho!

Right across the street from our hotel, the Princess Husa. We sat outside on a pleasant evening. Service was very good and very helpful and the food, although not great, was much better than some other places in Madrid where we were disappointed. We had shrimp with garlic sauce, a variety of empanadas, and fried calamari. No home runs but also not bad at all. Wish I had found this place sooner because some of the other Madrid places we ate at were meh at best. I realize this is not a ringing endorsement, but I would go back.

Our hotel told me about this restaurant that was across the road. This was perfect as we had walked all day. We had Tapas for lunch so wanted something different.. I checked on Unilocal and the description sounded different. The highlight was the service. Our waiter did not speak much English and we know no Spanish so we struggled initially. Our waiter tried so hard to be understood even resorting to charades.. It all worked and we had great dinners and had a great time. At the end after paying the bill our waiter shook all of our hands and then offered us free liqueurs. On leaving he shook all our hands again. He then chased us down the street to give us something we had left behind. Just an outstanding evening with outstanding service.

Our very first day in Madrid and we headed here for a quick dinner since it was close to the Hotel Princessa that we were staying in. Most famous Crab dish and best Sangria in Town!
