Food was amazing! Every dish was spectacular and unexpected. The service was fine but not exceptional. We had a 19:00 reservation and felt we had been banished to the dark, extremely hot basement with the other Americans. Every table near us was also American! The top floor is bright and seemed much cooler with the windows open. I would suggest asking to sit upstairs if possible. It’s very reasonably priced for the level of cuisine served.

I really, really wanted to like Host. As a fan of the ‘New Nordic’ and all that come with it, I was excited for a special dinner at Host. This ain’t Noma or Momofuku Ko, but we had high expectations after reading reviews and hearing praise. Four stars for cost and drinks, which are included in the dinner if you go for the indulgent option. For food, one star… I actually(no shame) had to get a shawarma sandwich after dinner at Host because I was still hungry(and I’m normal sized…). The courses are many and seem innovative, but there’s something amiss from each course regarding the flavor. I also was not a fan of the hasty service or the burnt french press coffee at the end. If you’re gonna be considered a serious restaurant, get your coffee right. If you want to experience the new nordic, head to Bror instead and get your EtOH at Mikkeller afterwards for the slightly a higher total price. Save yourself the hunger you’ll experience at Host-both literally and figuratively.

Yum, just yum. Höst serves up really delicious, creative and fun food without being overly complicated. The Signature Menu was fantastic and [spoiler alert] comes with a couple of surprises. Of all the hip places I ate in Copenhagen, I got the best bang for my krone at Höst. It’s actually a great value regardless of the city you’re in. You’ll definitely want to make reservations a few days in advance and even then you’ll probably be eating at 6, but it’s worth it. My only complaint is that the service, which in all other aspects is great, does feel a little bit rushed.

Great experience, our group had a bunch of vegetarians but the kitchen executed a great meal for all. The mix of flavor and visuals made for a great evening and the service was impeccable. Menu changes every month but some stand outs was the beet meringue and the potato chip topped dessert. While everything was great those really stood out to me.

One of the best damned meals I’ve ever had, hands down. Since I came all the way from Canada, I splurged on the signature menu and wine pairings — please do yourself a favour and order this, you will not regret it. I now have a new appreciation for things like radishes, juniper and birch bark. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the staff are a delight.

Super nice and cozy restaurant close by the lakes of Copenhagen. It offers an elaborated Danish cousin, prices can be high though. I like coming here for special occasions. I particularly like the design inside the restaurant, where the wood and the trees have a special protagonism :-)

There is Noma, there is Geranium, there is Relae, and then there is this little restaurant called Höst. You won’t have to book weeks in advance to be able to have dinner here, and I guarantee you’ll wonder why it isn’t, considering it is definitely up there as one of the top restaurants in Copenhagen. The Höst Signature Menu is highlighted by Norwegian Lobster with Chicken foot, as well as Pork Neck with Lingonberries, and I have to say that everything was executed perfectly, both in terms of taste and aesthetics. An example of that was in the Hake Scallop with mussel-cream; It was presented within the scallops own brilliant shell, with incredible use of color contrast with the sauces. The best part however was the dessert. Talk about adventurous, the Nordic Yogurt creation was infused with volcanic ash, making everything you taste literally explode in your mouth, in the same way that pop-rocks do. Unbelievable experience in taste, and I guarantee you won’t find a taste like that in your average Nordic restaurant. Overall, an impressive experience at Höst, both in terms of the food, but also the service. The staff is incredibly friendly and their insight about the food they serve makes it an even more reputable place. Rarely give full marks but this place absolutely deserves it.

For my birthday I received a dinner at an optional cofoco restaurant and I chose at Höst, which has been recommended massively by my friends. Höst didn’t disappoint. We were greeted at the door, set at the table, served by waitresses the whole evening and served numerous different extra appetizers throughout the evening. We chose«En aften på Höst», which includes sparkling wine, 3 cours dinner, winemenu, coffee and water. Cozy atmosphere, the design of the room reminds me a little of Brooklyn, New York with all the raw materials and dimmed lighting. The experience was in all exquisite. Will have to go here again.

Truly excellent and flavorful food. Ordered the regular Prix fix menu with wine pairing. Came with a TON of food(several surprise courses) and drink. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Meal took us three hours and was an amazing warm experience.

Lower your expectations. The atmosphere is nice, but the service feels a bit rushed. Henry Ford would be proud, the feeling is similar to his invention of the assembly line for mass production. Höst capitalizes on the hype around the Nordic kitchen. Nothing is inherently bad but the dishes feel incoherent, trying to fetch points for being inventive instead of focusing on delivering good food. At the current price point they don’t deliver an experience worth repeating.

Simple, but very pretty restaurant. Service is on point. There were 4 of us in our party; 2 ordered the signature menu and 2 ordered the menu along with the wine pairings. Excellent dining experience. Dishes were served at the right pace. Servers explained each dish after setting down the plates. Every dish was interesting as well as tasty. I’ve never tasted any of the combinations served. I highly recommend this place!

Wow, just wow! I went here with friends and had no idea about what to expect since I didn’t do the research. Höst is now one of my all time favourites all categories. The atmosphere, the staff and above all the food were outstanding. I have literally nothing to complain about! We ordered the Höst signature menu. If you go, that is what you should get. I wont say anything more since that will spoil the experience. If you want to go be sure to book 3 weeks in advance!

I knew I had to get a taste of the new Nordic cuisine trend before I left Copenhagen, but I just couldn’t bring myself to shell out that much money for one meal at Noma or Relæ(or even get a reservation, lol) so I jumped on the opportunity to dine at Höst after reading so many rave reviews about it! And, of course, the fact that they’ve won so many design awards meant that the dining experience would be more than just the food. I went with the Höst Menu, and because of the research I did, I knew going in that I would be in for more than just the three courses listed on the menu. However, I was not expecting the EIGHT courses that I ended up having! Each one was so unique, like different-themed parties in my mouth over the course of the meal. Of course, all the ingredients were incredibly fresh, and the flavors within each dish worked so well together. My compliments to the chef! I could go on and on about the food, but I really wanted to highlight the service I received. I notified the person that seated me that I only had about an hour and a half, as I needed to catch a flight(yeah, not an ideal situation). She made sure all the servers knew, and I could tell that they were trying to serve me as quickly as possible without trying to rush my dining experience. I had an incredible meal and still made my flight — there’s not much more I could ask for. Needless to say, everything about this place was fantastic and worth every penny. I would definitely come again if I’m ever back in CPH!

The Copenhagen food scene is as real as it gets. I had a couple of restaurants in mind to try(i.e. Noma(impossible to get into, Restaurant Radio, and Relae) but decided on Host instead, namely for location and how easy it was to get to(right next to Norreport Metro Station and Tovelharrne(sp?) Our reservation was for 9:15PM, super late. But we walked around the area and got«snacks» to kill some time. So make sure to make reservations early! Or you might have to wait a long time for dinner. My friend & I both ordered the signature host menu and were very pleased. There were many«surprise» dishes in between the main dishes. Our waitresses were very attentive and our water was refilled constantly :) The highlight of the night was the lobster that came with the appetizer. It was delicious. Melted in your mouth like a wagyu lobster. We left stuffed. The menu doesn’t sound like much but new Nordic cuisine is likely making its way around the world and I’m glad to have experienced it at Höst.

What a place. Had dinner there, their 3 course menu. First of all it was 7 courses that were extremely amazing both in plating and taste. I would absolutely go back here the next time I get into Copenhagen. Was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Cannot wait until I get to return.

The combination of price, service, and presentation would make this a 5 star place — such a beautiful place starting at 325DKK with essentially 5 courses(since it’s 3 courses plus lots of surprises/small dishes in between). Make sure to reserve a spot! Too bad I’m not too fond of the taste — the concepts behind all of the food and unique combinations of flavors is super interesting to hear about and look at; but in your mouth, the flavors are just confusing together, which I was disappointed about since it’s supposed to really high class cooking. I got the Host menu(regular) and really enjoyed the pork belly that was the main entrée and dessert(salted caramel ice cream with pop rocks). The appetizer(hake) was ok and I wasn’t super fond of the surprises/small dishes in between, but I suppose these change frequently. Tried bits of my friend’s meal who got the Signature menu and enjoyed mine more.

I was traveling in Scandinavia and heard Host was great! As a foodie I made a reservation ASAP. I must say from living in Miami, I was not impressed with any of it. –Service:Was not good, I expect when spending over 300 $ p/p service should of been much better. –Food: I didn’t love the rustic garden earthy food… it literally tasted like dirt sometimes. I get Denmark is all about farm to table but they took it too literal here. My favorite dish was the salmon and bread spread… that is not saying much –Fun Fact: They serve a chicken foot and expect you to think it is soooo«ingenious» It really is gross, they serve that in China for 10 cents on the street I love Copenhagen but not this restaurant

This is one of my most enjoyable dining experiences to date. Everything from the service to the ambience and of course the food, was unforgettable. While the set menu describes three courses, you get so much more. My husband had the Höst menu and I had the Höst Signature menu as we wanted to try as many dishes as possible. We both also asked for our respective wine pairings and as soon as our waitress walked away, another server was there delivering our amuse-bouche. From there we enjoyed dish after dish; each one as interesting and flavourful as the next. The presentation of everything was exquisite and the dishes themselves were incredible. Once the last dish was taken away and we finished our last drops of wine, we regretfully asked for the bill. After seven to eight dishes a piece we had nearly forgotten that it was technically a three course meal. All in? About € 140 total. I know there are a lot of excellent restaurants in Copenhagen but I can’t imagine a better value and experience than Höst.

So good and so reasonably priced for Copenhagen dining! This is my first experience with the cocofo restaurant chain and it’s definitely entice me to try the others. At Höst, aside from the a la carte options, you have the opportunity to order either the regular menu or the signature menu. I’ve sampled both and although the signature menu is slightly better(especially if you like rib eye) I still felt pretty good about getting the regular menu items which had an excellent first and second course. The only thing that was slightly off putting was the beetroot ice cream at the end. It was a little overpowering and exactly a sweet way to end the meal. This was the only time I prefer the signature menu for its more traditional take on ice cream. What really put Höst over the top for me was the«surprise» courses you get between the regular courses so you end up getting 6 – 7 dishes. Definitely a must try for Nordic cuisine!

Un resto surprenant! Le menu de 3 plats en comptait en réalité 8 avec les avant plats. Une équipe joviale, pro et un design de très bon goût. Je le recommande vivement, vous en aurez pour votre argent.;-)

Wow. This restaurant is a gem in the city and a place any local(or tourist) should try at least once. Walking in you will fond a comfortable and airy atmosphere while lovely pork rinds and almonds wait for you at the table when you are seated. The food is small in portion but big on flavour. I would recommend quite a few dishes but I understand the menu changes frequently and to be honest I don’t want to give away any surprises when it arrives. Whatever you pick on the menu will be delicious. A great place to take someone if you are looking to impress.
