This was a solid dining experience, though there could have been a few improvements. Making a reservation was incredibly simple, and when we arrived, we were promptly seated. The restaurant doesn’t get that much traffic, so I think it would be possible to just walk in(but making a reservation to be sure doesn’t hurt). The interior is decorated beautifully and matches the rest of the palace. When ordering, the waiter wasn’t very familiar with the menu(when I gave the name of the order he had to look at the menu), which isn’t a great thing for such an upscale restaurant, but it’s not really something to gripe about. I actually recommend not going with the set-course meal because ordering a starter and main dish is plenty; the portions are pretty big. The dining experience for us took two good hours. I’d imagine the 5-course meal would take 3 or even 4 hours. [FOOD] Salted Scallop: The scallops themselves had little taste; really the only thing I tasted was the oyster sauce, which was a little sour. The radishes were very fresh and light; my mom really liked them(and so did I). Tartare of Danish Veal: Chicken skin was on point: crispy and flavorful. Imagine a nice bite of fried chicken and that’s what you get with this thin piece of skin. The tartare itself was a little disappointing; there was virtually no taste. The lettuce emulsion added some acidity to the dish. Poached North Sea Cod: This was magical. The fish is cooked absolutely perfectly. Just touching it caused small chunks to break off. The sauce pairs perfectly with the fish; it’s light and buttery. The capers add a nice bit of flavor too. Everything in this dish was just on point. Danish Beef Tenderloin: I’ll just say this now, but if you don’t specify, the beef comes out medium rare. For my mom and me, this was no problem, but someone next to us asked the waiter to have the chef cook it more. The meat was very tender and flavorful, but it was a little hard to chew and swallow. The dish also comes with a pretty big bowl of mashed potatoes, which are incredibly smooth and buttery. Chocoholic’s Satisfaction: This comes with a scoop of black currant sorbet, three small chocolates of varying darkness, and three containers of chilled pudding matching the darkness of the chocolates. I call it chilled pudding because that’s the closest thing I can describe it as. The sorbet is extremely sour and was pretty impossible to eat by itself. The puddings though are all amazing. My favorite was the 72% dark chocolate(there’s milk chocolate, 72%, and 78%). Andreigaard Organic Danish Apple Juice: Overstated. It was definitely not the best glass of apple juice that I’ve had. It was a little sour. To be honest, Simply Apple tastes better(and is a lot cheaper). Bread: I kind of have to mention it because it was pretty amazing. It’s a little denser than regular bread, but the crust is nicely charred, and the inside is incredibly soft. The butter is also really soft and spreads very easily. [OVERALL] Not a bad place to go. At night, you can go up the tower and see the city. If I came back, I’d probably only order the cod. The restaurant is definitely cheaper than the Michelin star restaurants though.

There is something distinctly unique and exciting about the opportunity to enjoy an excellent meal sitting a few hundred feet above the seat of the Danish government. We started by hitting up the top of the tower/Overlook for an incredible view of the moon rising. I cannot stress how gorgeous it was and the mood it instilled. Then we went down into the restaurant itself, which sits just below. It is simple in decoration, but very clean and modern with an architectural taste that I loved. Service was decent, if not exceptional. However, the piece that really set it apart was the main course, which was a large trunk of perfectly cooked fish. The butter sauce used for the fish was spectacular, and it was one of those moments where even if you’re not a stalwart fish fan you fall in love with the dish and cut it into smaller and smaller pieces to enjoy every single bite.

The place is definitely worth checking out and it is a very cool place to take visitors. I was in a business lunch it was a little too loud for a business lunch. The view you have from the top of the palace is breathtaking the whole experience in the tower it is very nice has a lovely decoration that gives a cozy museum feeling. The lighting is soft the tables small and comfy. The menu was a little disappointing as there is only smorrebrod for lunch but on the other side they were very good so again great to take people visiting they get classic Danish food and a great tourist tour. I tried the salmon and the chicken but the salmon was my favorite. I also tried their special apple juice that was really good I really recommend it. The location can’t be better just off the city center. All in all I recommend it for an expensive open sandwich lunch and a touch of tourism.

This is one of those places you may never find, if you don’t know you have to look after it. It is located in one of the most iconic places in Copenhagen, and if you get just the right table, you can enjoy the view over central Copenhagen city, while having some very fine dining. Tårnet is located in the top of the danish parliament, placing you high enough up, that you might be able to look all the way to sweden, if you look closely. The view is absolutely stunning and the food aims to give you the same experience. The waitering staff is very professional and even though we had multiple waiters come with the different courses, it had no impact at all. We went for the 5 course dinner. It looked daunting at first with 5 courses, but the portion-sizing was just right. Everything about the menu was spot on, and asking for a little schnaps on the side, added just that little extra. Because of its location and the fairly limited marketing they do, this is absolutely a place that you can do a table reservation to on a day-to-day basis. I would recommend anyone going here, as they have a great variety of dishes, both for lunch and dinner. I’m looking forward to next time!

I’m a big fan of the royal family, the Danish democracy and parliament and the idea of having a restaurant in the tower on the top of the building that houses some of the very very Danish icons is really appealing to me. The restaurant is beautiful, interior design is stylish and it’s a quite cozy(or in Danish ‘hyggelig’) restaurant. I really loved the venue. Remember to go to the top of the tower and watch the sunset — it’s a wonderful view! The meal was very tasty — had the pork which was perfectly cooked and served with really delicious potatoes. But… Service was horrific. I’ve never met such a grumpy, impolite waitress before. She didn’t presented the meal, which we noticed the other waitors do, we couldn’t get extra bread, which the other waitors would give to their tables and when we asked her questions she would answer in a really harsh tone of voice. When I decide to go to a restaurant there’s a bit expensive I expect to be treated nicely and professional — and she didn’t. I’m sorry guys, but that kind of behaviour can not get a 5-star recommendation although the location and food was amazing.

The place is beautiful and the views are nice. BUT, we didn’t enjoy at all our«romantic» dinner. First of all, our dinner was booked for 9:15PM. We got there 5 min ahead of schedule, but we were asked to wait –fair enough-. The problem started when the waiting time exceed the 30min. They finally got us a table, in a corner(!) But when we were ordering our food(the 5 menu courses: 525DKK), we were asked to choose another one because we didn’t have time to eat them all!!!(They were closing in an hour and a half) So the whole experience was ruined. The service wasn’t good. They offered us two complimentary drinks –but we had to remind them once the bill came to our table…- We will not come back …

Free tower in the middle of the city to have great views? Yes please! This is the tower attached to Christiansborg, and it is free to go up. There’s an elevator that takes you up, and then there are thirty-some stairs to get outside. The top is fenced so you can’t fall over, and the view is really nice. There’s basically views of the entire city, and I could see everything! Definitely worth it to go, as it’s easy to get to in the middle of the city.

Amazing space, service, wine, and food. Staff was very helpful, and pleasant. The food was innovative modern Scandinavian mixing various combinations of flavours from local ingredients. Wines were paired well with the dishes i ordered. The space itself is unique with sculptures matching those on the exterior of historic building. Overall a lovely experience.

When I first came to Denmark 9 years ago, I was definitely not a fan of ryebread, let alone smørrebrød. For me, these bite-sized open sandwiches fall most definitely under category of snack, not proper lunch. But of course, 9 years is a long time to change my mind, and although I would still prefer something else if I could, I would definitely not refuse an invitation to eat smørrebrød here for lunch. The menu is short, especially for lunch, but they do have lunch special that my friend got(I couldn’t because it was selected by the chef and one of them had chicken on it and I don’t eat poultry) so I had to go with a la carte. Mine was smoked salmon from Fanø with shrimp and egg salad. It was super delicious. My second course was fried place with capers and mayo that was also equally delicious, but the salmon was the best of the two. The fact that they have Jacobsens beer to go with the lunch menu is awesome. I love Jacobsens — especially the dark beer and the beer goes with the smørrebrød nicely. I could see that people also drop by here not to eat lunch but to have tea and sample their cakes and chocolates. They all look great and I must try it next time. Maybe I have changed my mind about smørrebrød — at least the one in Tårnet is very nice. PS: Service was perfect as well.

A free view of the city is not a bad deal! So you should do it! Well can’t say it is comparable to the vor frelsers kirkes view in Christiania, but as it is for free it is very much worth it! It’s perfect for budget travelers and for people who can’t go up too many stairs, as there is an elevator that brings you almost to the top. I particularly liked the floor before the top with all the statues. Take a look at them, they are very interesting. The tower is in the heart of the city so it is very easy to reach. You need to go through security to get in but it is a very fast process. What might take a while is the elevator queues. You need to use two elevators to reach the view area. Generally I thought it was a well organised process. Good pictures can be taken there! It is not as narrow top as others in Copenhagen so there is lots of room for many people. The only thing that makes it harder for a good picture to be taken is the very high railing. Better for me though that I have a fear of heights! Don’t go on a Monday as it is closed.

I visited Tårnet a few weeks ago, together with a friend. The visit was quite special, because we had talked to the owner in advance, and he had promised to have a cup of coffee with us, and tell us more about the restaurant. So my view is definitely colored by the great story he told, and the amazing service we got. However, each time I looked around, all other guests seemed to enjoy themselves, and everyone seemed to get great service as well — so I’ve decided that it’s okay for me to write a review anyway. My friend and I were at Tårnet for the cakes — and not for the food. This day there were seven different ones to try, and we shared one each. All of them were good, some where fantastic. I found to favorites, that I will try again, if the cake menu is the same the next time I come. I’m pretty sure that they change it every now and then. Three cakes and a coffee i 135 dkk, which I think is a really good price, when you think about the amount of cakes and the quality you get. Tårnet is 100% organic, which I think is amazing. When looking through the menu, it feels like everything is thought through. That goes for the interior design and the atmosphere as well. The view from the tower is amazing, and if you want to leave your table and sit in the window instead, that’s okay. The restaurant has even put out pillows in the window, so you can sit there.

Amazing restaurant in the heart of the Danish parliament building. The food is served in a very cool venue, which has previously been used to store Danish statues. To the extent possible, they have kept the status which gives the room a unique atmosphere. Food was great and prices ok — definitely a great place to go if you want a special dinner in Copenhagen. Also, the restaurant have kept a staircase in front of the windows overlooking the city, where you can sit and enjoy the view. So take your wine glass while you wait for the food to arrive — and get a unique drinking experience. Last thing — don’t miss the view top one floor up, where you get a panorama view of the city heart!
