Honestly one of the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had. Got the kalita brew of their Kenya beans, and it was like champagne in my mouth. But coffee. Tiny, cool spot, friendly folks, unpretentious. Thumbs up. If you’re into third wave coffee, this is your jam.

Everything a Copenhagen coffee experience is supposed to be. Cozy and comfortable café decked in Danish design and cool charcoal art on the walls. And the coffee. Excellently executed cappuccino’s are not large, but delicious. Coffee is a serious art in Copenhagen and the Coffee Lab is one of the city’s best. A perfect place to warm up on those grey days but also tables outside capture the sun when it’s overhead.

Great little place. The décor is very nice and the staff is friendly. The Espresso was great! Looks like a good place to come in and read :).

All I can say is– SUPERB latte. Usually I can’t tell the difference between the tastes in coffee very much, but when I took a sip of this latte, it was eye opening. It’s definitely one of the most perfectly roasted coffee I’ve tried in CPH. The inside isn’t too spacious, but there weren’t many people when I visited. A couple of people were reading their books or typing away on the laptops, but for the most part it was nice and quiet. It’s a perfect environment to be productive. I would definitely come back – maybe tomorrow.

In all honesty, my flat white was good. But I had to give it one star down from the supposedly four star review. It was so noisy in the little café with people talking all at the same time. Maybe I was just being unlucky but there was this guy sitting next to us who happened to have work meeting over skype or something and he was almost shouting the whole way. Across us were two men in business suit talking about work in equally raised voice, probably because of the first guy talking so loud. There was also some other guy with laptop who was around before he packed his stuff and left. Perhaps this is the kind of café where people sit down and work, and I really don’t mind that, but not when you’re holding a meeting over skype or whatever and stir the«hygge» over a cup of great coffee. Being a coffee«lab», they obviously sell lots of coffee«thingies» from coffee beans to coffee makers and machines. I’d say this place is good for take away and I could see many people do that, probably most people who work at Christiansborg since it’s just right across the street. As for me, I’d probably find my coffee hangout somewhere… quieter.

Oooph. I’ve gone back and forth over what rating to give this coffee shop, but in the end I am going with how I rate the coffee. Like many of the cool digs in Copenhagen, Copenhagen Coffee Lab is in a basement, tucked away amongst one of the lovely side streets of the city. The décor is very minimalist and cosily woody. There are chairs and desks, sofas, armchairs, stools — a very cool variety of furniture in a fairly big space. Sadly, a scowling, unhappy barista looked up at us, waited for about two seconds to see whether we were ready to order — um, WHO is after two seconds?! — and, seeing that we were not ready, turned away and ignored us until we decided. Even asking him questions about what they offered(as the menu was in Danish) induced a frown and a terse answer. To end his misery, I chose the pour over coffee and hubs ordered a flat white before taking our seats. Grumpy barista set it on our table quickly(though skillfully) and walked away immediately, without a smile or acknowledgement of our presence. But a quick browse over Unilocal reviews revealed that this is his natural state of being, so I guess he’s at least consistent… But here is where the four stars comes in and actually makes this shop worth a visit. The coffee is good. Really good. My pour over was nice and rounded and well brewed. Hub’s flat white had a great flavour and kick from the beans. And sitting off away from the grumpy staff was very nice indeed. The music selection is great, and the shop itself a lovely place to soak in some relaxation. If the guy were a bit friendlier, we would have purchased some beans since they seem to roast their own, but we were too intimidated and didn’t want to deal with him anymore, so we walked out with a good taste in our mouths, but slightly taken aback by how horrible the service was. So, fellow Unilocaler, you’ve been warned. I definitely recommend CCL, but go in with low expectations of the service and you’ll probably be able to hang on until the delicious coffee appears in front of you. There might not be a smile with that service, but it’s the coffee you came for, right?

Located just a couple of blocks from the Kongens Nytorv station and the busy city center is Copenhagen Coffee Lab. This place is tucked away in a basement but provides a cozy environment. The place has a hipster feel but what coffee place doesn’t? They have beautiful wooden rustic-looking tables that are huge so they’re perfect if you(and a bunch of your friends) want to work. They also have a small room that you can rent out for larger groups. As for the coffee, I’m no expert(I’m trying to get there!), but I enjoyed my Latte. They have all the standard coffee items, including slow-drip coffee. They also have Flat Whites which is apparently hard to find. They take their coffee very seriously but aren’t snobby about it. The guy working even gave a great explanation of what a Flat White was since I was unfamiliar with it. They also provide«coffee courses» so newbies like me can learn a thing or two. They sell a few pastries which they make themselves. The smell of fresh cinnamon rolls was definitely tempting. They also sell coffee beans and home brewing equipment so you can enjoy your coffee at home. What’s great about this place is it’s close proximity to the city center, but it’s still far from the craziness. If you’re ever in the area and want to make a quick getaway from the crowds with a great cup of coffee, come here.

I go there for coffee twice or more a week. Work right around the corner. Incredibly attentive and serviceminded staff that remembers your name and delivers every time. Your home lab away from home. Big up from me!

nice to know there’s a place deeper in the center where you can get a decent cup of coffee. the aeropress was good and not bitter at all but it seemed to be missing some nuances from the stuff at coffee collective, or maybe my tastebuds were playing tricks on me. if you go at the right time(and obviously the right weather), you can grab a table outside and sit in the sun. the guys working there are nice and unpretentious but they are pretty serious about their coffee. definitely worth checking out.
