I don’t understand the bad reviews. We came in on a cold wintry night because it was in the main tourist drag and looked somewhat traditional. The beef steak was good but a little more rare than you’d get in the states. Pork was also pretty good. Of course the scenery is good and it’s a bit pricey but I’d definitely return.

We wandered in here for lunch this afternoon. It was warm enough to sit outside overlooking the canal, and chilly enough that we were glad to be wearing our jackets. People watching was excellent. We were given menus. I decided on the open-faced hamburger«with appropriate accompaniments» after asking our server what the difference was between that and the cheeseburger. I chose that because it would have less bread and because it specified the meat would be cooked rare. Alan ordered pan fried fish. He had water and I had hot tea. Our server seemed a bit impatient as we decided what to have and then she pretty much disappeared for the rest of the meal. Another, friendlier woman took over. Alan was pleased w/his fish, which looked good. My hamburger was on the cool side when it arrived, but it was rare enough and tasty. Accompanying it were diced lightly pickled beets in a small ramekin, capers, a mustard-based relish and finely chopped red onion. In another small ramekin floated a raw egg. Because our server didn’t explain to me how the Danish would eat it, I was on my own. I ate the beets separately, spread the capers, relish and onions on top of the meat and cut it into pieces w/knife and fork. It was tasty. I didn’t know what to do w/the egg and don’t eat raw eggs anyway, so I left it. When our second waitress picked up our plates I asked her how the egg was eaten. She said it was put on top of the meat. When I looked appalled, she said she couldn’t eat it that way either. Aside from the largely absent service, there was a fair amount of cigarette smoke wafting over from adjacent diners. It wasn’t as bad as it could have been because we were outside, but it was certainly more than what we’re used to at home in the Bay Area.

Busy restaurant but a pleasant atmosphere and efficient staff. Food is homestyle not super gourmet. Not a bad option and fairly reasonable for Copenhagen/Denmark

The bruschetta here is AMAZING. Everything else? Meh. My chicken was dry. My co-workers weren’t impressed either. The service helps to make up for it — we were a loud and rowdy table past closing, and they never said a word.

We ate inside by a chilly Sunday. I took a 2 courses fish menu and my girl took a 2 courses meat menu. First of all, if you take a meat menu and expect to have only meat, be careful because there is salmon and some fish as a starter. My menu was nice bit my girl complained about the cook of the meat and the sauce which was not a pepper sauce bit something a lot more bitter! Service is ok without being terrific though.

Great bar for waterfront drinking in the sunshine. Great/friendly staff, in particular if you are male/heterosexual persuasion.
