By far the worst overpriced food in copenhagen i guess. Wether no special decoration nor a good ambiente. The food was waaaaay overpriced. We felt cheated after leaving. Service was ok — friendly though. The food itself was bad, we got the pepper steak and got 100gr of tenderloin, two broccolis and a half carrotte with two potstoes for 199 krones. The broccoli was over salted, the pepper sauce was no pepper sauce — like out of the maggi box. The toilets were dirty. Not to forget to mention that the service took 35 minutes to deliever the food but the restaurant was half empty. Wouldn’t even let my dog eat here. As you see, i’m angry.

$ 50 for a beer and about 12 small pieces of herring. Absurd. As for quality and service average — and what you’d expect in your tourist area. Nothing special.

Wonderful location but disgusting and overpriced food. Not much to say other then to recommend readers to go somewhere else to grab food and possibly just bring it to this area to eat. I ordered the fish of the day(Salmon) and my friends ordered the 3 course meal which had about a 45 min delay because the servers forgot about their order. The salmon was bland and was definitely not worth about 30USD. No. Just No.

After being ignored at the restaurant next door we took refuge here. Had the best salmon I’ve had in quite some time. My companion had the pepper steak, also well executed. Recommended.

Fair food but our waiter Christopher gave us the lunch menu and later said it was too late. We ordered two ½ lobsters from the chalk menu posted outside and a shrimp sandwich. We got the tiny lobster and had an entrée of shrimp pasta forced upon us. The shrimp were over cooked and over priced. It was beautifully presented. The price for the lobster was much more that the price posted. Not a good impression on our first day, but great view and street music!

One of a string of nearly-identical sidewalk cafes along Nyhavns. We kept debating whether we were better off at this one, or the one to the west. It’s not clear if there’s really that much of a difference. The 3 herring plate was fine, and as advertised, but nothing special. The red wine herring in particular was far sweeter than I would have liked, and the curry one was a little odd. Fine, and as expected for a tourist-strip café, but nothing special.

Whenever you get to Copenhagen, trust me, you’ll end up at Nyvahn sooner rather than later because the narrow harbor represents the most photogenic part of the city for tourists. Colorful clapboard houses and wooden ships, all of it dating back to the 17th century, represent the most familiar image of Copenhagen as a charming seaport, a fact not lost on the dozens of restaurant owners lining the northern side of the canal, all virtually indistinguishable from each other since they all offer the same outdoor seating in the same manner. I just happened on Hereford House since their decidedly American menu appealed to me after a day of smørrebrød. I don’t think it’s related to the Kansas City chain as the menu included herring, chicken salad and lobster soup as well as burgers and club sandwiches. Me? Yes, of course I ordered the Burger, self-proclaimed to be «the best in town»(see photo). Since it was the only burger I had in Copenhagen, I’ll take their word for it. It was definitely a big patty, a bit undercooked for medium-rare since the juices were flowing onto the plate, and placed in what looked like a split ciabatta roll which was a bit on the hard side. It came with bacon and a side of steak fries and salad that doubled as toppings for the burger. Total cost was a whopping 119DKK(Danish krone), which equals about $ 21 or more than four Double-Doubles with Fries at In-n-Out. How do you say«ka-ching» in Danish? FOOD — 3 stars… a decent enough burger and fries… but $ 21…shoot me AMBIANCE — 3.5 stars… on a crispy-cool morning in Nyvahn, quite nice, especially with the blankets they provide for comfort SERVICE — 3 stars… is it bad that I don’t remember? TOTAL — 3 stars… probably need to get out of that area if you want cheaper eats
