The entrance of Waffle Town faces the main road. It has quite a lot of seating, to accommodate big groups. Although their tables are fixed into the ground, so you can’t really have too big a group. We came in a group of 10, so just nice, there were 10 seats together. The ice creams here, reminded of the ice cream at NYP south canteen waffle shop. More like the typical Kings or Walls ice cream. Hey! But at least there’s rainbow flavour? Waffle with one scoop of ice cream $ 4.50 Pretty reasonable, considering hipster cafes charge twice of this. AC Barker boys are all too familiar with this shop, reminiscing the days they used to head over here after school. I got my all-time favourite cookies n cream. Apart from the whipped cream, the ice cream tasted normal, like the kind you get in tubs from NTUC. RAINBOWICECREAM! Paddle Pop? Nonetheless, this creamy ice cream is still a kids favourite! The waffle was quite crispy but didn’t stay crispy as the ice cream soaked through this. Check out Les Patisserie’s waffles if you like crispy waffles that has ice cream soaked right through it! All in all, a cool hang out spot for those living around the area. I just wouldn’t travel all the way to Balmoral just for this.

Honest to goodness, a kid loves nothing more than a waffle and ice cream on top. My parents used to bring me here all the time to appease me — that was way back in the day, when Waffletown could be found in more places than it can now. Their Balmoral outlet is probably the most convenient for me, as well as for the school kids around, so don’t be surprised to see kids from ACS or SCGS around here(even during school hours), or the odd parent treating their kids after a hard day’s work at the tuition centre. I think the fact that this is the crowd that Waffletown looks at might suggest something about their quality of food. There’s no need to please palates, just stomachs and children’s whimps and fancies. But that’s exactly what I come here for. A simple waffle, with a scoop of ice cream, or sometimes just maple syrup and butter. Genuinely nothing I couldn’t do by myself at home, but sometimes these are the simple pleasures you desire. They’re apparently quite proud of their fried chicken here as well, which I assume isn’t far better than the standard you’d find in any fried chicken shop in a food court, apart from the ambience you get here. But get your focus right — it’s all about giving that kid on you that little plate of crispy waffle he wants.
