I will disclose that I was on the verge of «hangry» when we made it to the Tree Lizard on Dempsey Hill last night. The place was a little difficult to find and we eventually found a sign and a set of stairs that led us to their game room area, which had pool and foosball table. The place wasn’t busy at all, with only 3 other tables occupied. We got a seat on the patio close to an outdoor play ground for kids. Our server was prompt and polite, but didn’t seem to know the answers to many of our questions, such as «How big is the Caesar salad?» We started with the Pipsqueak cider($ 11) and it hit the spot. Not too sweet and pretty light. Our salads came out about 25 minutes later(I was keeping close track due to «hangry» mood and growling stomach), which seemed a bit long due to how few tables they had. I ordered the half roasted chicken with fries and coleslaw($ 20.90). The«hanger» must have prevented me from keeping it strict Paleo and swapping fries for a salad. That’s what I’m choosing to stick with at least. The coleslaw was really a salad with light dressing and not slaw at all. Hubby got the baby back ribs with fries and coleslaw($ 24.90). Their special sauce tasted just like McDonald’s sweet and sour sauce. We left full, but not really satisfied. The Tree Lizard had fairly expensive, nicely plated bar food. Next time we’ll hit up PS Café or The Disgruntled Chef in that area. It’s a less risky move when suffering from a «hangry» mood. This place gets a 2.5 out of 5 stars for me.
