Tori-Q

I am a big fan of Tori-​Q since young, this little café has been around for quite a while. Used to eat it quite often during the weekends during my school days as I find it to be cheap yet delicious. These days, I seldom eat it because of the choices of food we have today, and also its not very healthy to eat it so often.
My personal favourite is the Tantoro Pork, I find it to be the most delicious among all, follow by Chicken and Chicken Skin. My regular meal would consist of 2 Tantoro Pork, 1 Chicken and 2 Chicken Skin with Rice — this cost around $ 6 which is considered reasonable for today’s cost of living. Usually, I will order either Honey Lemon or Green Tea to enjoy together with the meal.
If you haven’t been here before, you should give it a try. Try the egg as well, its quite good and the others are also worth a try. Overall, I go back once in a while to enjoy the Japanese style meal.

This is a Japanese fast food place at the basement of Clementi Mall. There is only one major option here — meat on skewers with rice. For meat, your choices are pork (different cuts) and chicken (cooked differently). They also have quail eggs and dumplings on skewers. For a better deal, get a set meal that comes with 4 skewers and rice. They have 4 different sets with reasonable prices. You can also add $ 1 for a cup of miso soup.
Their service is generally friendly. They offer free samples most of the time and serve really fast. Although it can be a little stressful if you don’t know what you want and need time to figure out. There is also limited sittings with clear signs that no outside beverages is allowed. They do have bottled drinks like Coke and Green Tea.
Flavor-​wise, they are pretty good. Their meats are grilled very well and with the teriyaki sauce, you really can’t go wrong. Definitely a great choice for busy weekday dinner. You can easily get in and out in 5 minutes.

This is a small stall in the basement of the Clementi Mall. There is always a person out front giving free samples, so it is easy to try and see if you like it. They have only a small bench area with about 5 seats inside, so most people take away. There is a good option for a bento box that contains rice, plenty of tasty sauce, and 4 skewers. My favorite choice is the chicken balls. The chicken with green pepper is also nice. Other options include plain chicken and pork. Overall, the food is quite nice and the meal is priced decently at $ 6 – 7. It is good for a fast, easy meal on a weekday.
