Great place to eat healthy. Their soups are delicious. My personal favorite is their tangy tomato.

The unique thing I’d point out about this location is it’s located in Biopolis. This is important because the place is swarmed with people during lunch and commute rush hours. Therefore, I recommend going during off-peak times to avoid the rush or to try a less busy location. The following is cross-posted from my JCube Soup Spoon review, but still relevant to this location: I have tried two soups here. The first is the chicken ragu, which had a very strong herb flavor and plentiful chunks of meat, but could use a bit of heat. The second is the lamb and sausage ragu, in which the meat had a delicious, high-quality flavor. I could still do for a little more spice, but it was quite tasty. I have also tried the spicy wedges, which, ironically, are also not spicy, but do come dusted with a chili-powder-like… powder. Nevertheless, the potatoes tasted fresh, were nicely fried, and still enjoyable. Normally, the bread bowl is amazing at this place. It is basically a huge square of hollowed out bread with a big top. Although the portions are large enough, the prices are a bit high for soup. If it weren’t for that, this would make an excellent frequent lunch stop or a nice place for a fast dinner.

I have loved Soup Spoon since I was first introduced to it… almost 10 years ago! I’m happy to report that the quality of soups has not dipped one bit! Quality ingredients and well-balanced flavors(not too salty and not too bland). And I’m glad that my favorite soups are still around, plus some variety added. My fave is the Tangy tomato basil soup! It’s got a nice spicy kick and rich tomato flavor. If you haven’t already tried Soup Spoon, you should give it a shot :) You might just become a Souper like me!

I’m happy that there’s Soup Spoon, I honestly am. Has it really been 10 years??! That’s been quite a bit of time to keep coming back only for ONE thing. Ok, so I’m weird that way, but I have a hard time admitting that I really dig fungi… not to cultivate(although I’ve tried my hand at it; it is a good time), but to eat. I enjoy earthy flavors and few of nature’s wonders are as adept as the mushroom in representing this flavor without the cloying bitter hints(not to mention the grit) of actual dirt. If it isn’t already clear to you by now, I visit Soup Spoon only to get at their Velvety Mushroom Stroganoff. I like this product so much that I didn’t take issue with them calling this entirely vegetarian offering a stroganoff. I usually get the take home packs. I do this because as the soup is gently reheating in a saucepan, I stir in Tamari(Kikkoman). The earthiness of the shiitakes is coaxed out a little more by the wheaty hints of the Tamari. Of course, the fact that there’s alcohol in the Tamari helps. A totally legal way of getting a head trip with mushrooms.

1. Roasted Pumpkin soup — My favorite! thick and flavorful :) 2. Tokyo Chicken Stew Chicken, white radish, carrot, leek, shitake mushroom, enoki mushroom, bamboo shoot, lotus root, celery, garlic, onion, sake, mirin — Clear broth. Tasty yet healthy. It has a kinda of sweet yet savory taste. — Has chunks of chicken meat in it and a lot of exotic, asian vegetables in it too. The roll of bread that accompanies the soup is great too.

This probably doesn’t deserve 5 stars, really, but I feel like I owe it to them for literally keeping me alive while studying for my PhD qualifying exam when I was too stressed to eat real meals.

The place is located in the basement of the Fusionopolis so it’s a bit hard to find but super awesome place for a quick healthy meal. My favorite meal here is the tangy tomato soup and the boston clam chowder.

Its the perfect comfort food for a rainy day. They have quite a bit of variety, from Russian to the normal clam chowders, and while they may not be the best tasting soups around, for this price, it’s actually very decent. You can get it with or without salad, and with a sandwich to complement your meal. Generally, i just go for the sandwich and soup option as the pastry is a bit too much for my liking.

The Soup Spoon can be found at most places, and I’m glad there’s one at Fusionopolis. If you’re a soup lover, I’ll definitely recommend going to Soup Spoon. Although their main range of soups does not change over the years, they do roll in new choices, usually displayed on their standee or the menu screens. You can always go with a set meal and get a salad/wrap/sandwich to fill your tummy. The outlet there is rather quiet and peaceful. A nice place to dine with friends, but not suitable if you’re thinking of staying there for long hours.

I see Soup Spoon as a comforting friend, someone who knows I’m dieting and yet manages to warm up my soul and fill up my stomach with delicious full-flavoured soups. It is one of my diet mode staple food, other than Subway and Yong Tau Foo. How many restaurants in Singapore show you the calorie and nutrition content of their food? However, do note that the calories stated excludes the bread roll that comes with the soup. My favourite has to be their Simon and Garfunkel Chicken and Mushroom Ragout. Besides having a funky name, the soup is chocked full of chunky ingredients; with every bite you can get a good balance of meat and veggies. It makes you feel contented so it doesn’t feel like you’re dieting. Oh yeah and there are SIX types of mushrooms inside — Portobello, Oyster and Abalone Mushroom, the Enoki and Shitake, and Button Mushroom, which means WOOTS for a mushroom fan like me. I particularly like this outlet at Fusionopolis. The lunch hour staff are amazing. They are always efficient and there’s one friendly lady there who goes the extra mile for service. Once I had my meal there and requested for my side — the apple to takeaway(reserve as snack later). She asked me if I’d like the apple to be cut up, I said yes. She then told me she’d give me the apple when I’m done with my meal so it wouldn’t turn brown so quickly. She was totally like a MOTHER. And the story climaxed when I got my apple and it was packed so neatly in their cute plastic container complete with utensils. She could have just thrown me one apple like the witch in Snow White you know. I was very touched. This outlet is also a great quiet place to chill during non-peak hours. A few times I had their carrot cake while sitting there waiting for friends after work(diet FAIL). The carrot cake, though not advertised much, is refreshingly delicious. Let this be our secret. We need more of such restaurants.
