UOB has a 1 for 1 promotion on both the English and Japanese High Tea sets, which average at around $ 20 per person and is a lovely place for high tea. The lobby is quiet and tucked away at the side of the hotel, and has an amazing view of the lush gardens and waterfall outside, which you can see through the high glass windows that the lobby bar is situated next to. We tried both the Japanese and English sets, and I must say the English set wins HANDSDOWN. The Japanese one had a lot of rather strange tasting mochis(you know that chewy rice ball desert that is quite popular) — pretty as it was, it really did not do it for me. The English set on the other hand had gorgeous little sandwiches, fruit tarts, chocolate tarts, scones and cheesecake, and every set comes with a pot of tea, or coffee and even fresh juice! Quite a bargain considering you would usually pay $ 10 for a glass of fresh juice at such a place. Also loved the décor and furniture — everything is plush and comfortable, with bright paintings on the walls that really make you feel like you’re on holiday.
