We stopped in here for drinks after dinner at Jim Thompson’s on Dempsey Hill. I ordered a gin drink with basil, but I think I may have received the wrong one because it tasted like very sweet lemonade. I’m not all that picky, but did a gin and tonic on the next round. I can’t speak for the food here as we did not order any, but the ambiance was wonderful. It was a patio tucked away in greenery with soft glowing lantern-like lighting. I’d be interested in checking them out for dinner some time.

Finally found this place after weeks of trying. Went there last Saturday night. Ordered the ribs and wings. The ribs was a bit disappointing… Or perhaps my expectation was too high. It was not as tasty as I thought it would be. It was juicy and tender meat. But alas… The taste need a bit more work. The wings are OK and a bit tastier. But love the service though. It was quick. Pleasant and attentive. The atmosphere of the restaurant too is nice and comfy. Hopefully they will do something about the ribs taste.

my attempt to be reacquainted with hacienda landed me on the path to the green door. no, i do not recommend you go through the green door. the full size white door to it’s right may be a better bet! once through the door, you are immediately greeted with greenery ala you personal backyard. the welcoming staff were friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. to better appreciate the colourful décor, a day visit is best. but if it is the more romantic hue you are after, do wait until dusk. they describe themselves as a before and after bar. maybe before and/or after you have/had dinner at their sister restaurant, roadhouse? so what’s really behind the green door? their draft beer options include local archipelago. happy hours 5−8pm daily. and of course your standard whisky, wine or cocktails. speaking of their cocktails, in memory of the lovely female star of «Behind The Green Door», which was one of the first hardcore, full-length films to usher in the«Golden Age Of Porn», they created a cocktail named Marilyn Chambers. i must order that next time!!! the Zen cocktail that i had, though tasty, was simply not cold enough. cindy’s starfruit cocktail, though cold, was simply bland. finger food menu sounds really interesting. the beer candied bacon is definitely a perfect pairing with beer! just think gourmet bak kwa! the swordfish skewers paired grilled swordfish cubes with pear held together with a cinnamon stick. there’s really more to try, more to report. and do note that the finger food comes from the kitchen of roadhouse across the tarmac. so did i mention they have their own herb garden? yes, they do. did i also mention someone wanted to pick some herbs to bring home for planting? no, it wasn’t me:)
