This place closed an hour before they were supposed to simply because there was nobody in the restaurant. Really disappointed, was looking forward to a hotdog

Stopped by this past weekend. Burger was very good, but pricey. The beef tastes less frozen than most beef in Singapore. Saw a few guys try the Terminator Challenge which was pretty entertaining. Wish they had a better beer selection. Just had your standard Bud, Heineken, Corona with one overpriced craft beer.

Good reminder of home. Tasted the mushroom and breakfast champion burgers. Overall good. Service was very good. Value, 3⁄5. Premium prices on better than decent food.

Loved the French fries, truffle and reg. they weren’t skinny, like many places in Singapore. Burger was good. Not as good as potato head folk. It was real thick. Really liked that you could build your own burger. Might go here again, but I will go to potato head folk again first!

We stumbled upon Roadhouse in search of a casual comfort food joint in Dempsey and man we were pleasantly surprised! I was tempted to give it five stars but decided to wait after my next visit. My friend and I started with some hot wings with garlic and parmesan sauce. For an avid chicken wing lover like me, it wasn’t all that special but did hit the spot. My friend ordered a medium rare Hot Mama burger off their signature list. The patty was juicy and moist, cooked just right. The jalapeño gave it a good kick without being overly spicy. I wasn’t in the mood for burger so I went for a chicken/mushroom spaghetti aglio olio. As shocking as it sounds, this might just be the best pasta I’ve had in Singapore so far — and I have tried quite a few Italian places, just not the super fancy ones. The sauce was a delicate garlic and olive oil, mixed with generous portion of sauted mushroom and chicken, portioned perfectly(for me at least, maybe a little small for guys). So happy we found this place! Will definitely visit again soon.

Fries alone are four star worthy… Maybe five stars… Yep, five stars. They are so good — I will go there just for the fries and maybe have a burger. This is a burger joint that does a really nice job to give a high quality burger(Waygu beef) and a casual environment. It’s not inexpensive and it isn’t the best burger in town but it’s worth going for a burger fix. Pulled pork sandwich is great with jalapeño peppers and just enough BBQ suave. Onion rings are good if not a little doughy. Cole slaw is good and fresh — needs celery seeds and pepper. Service is pleasant and attentive… And the fries are hot and crispy and delicious!

I have been back to Roadhouse several times as I do like its burgers and desserts. It is quite hard to find a place with good old juicy and fresh burgers(beef of course) in Singapore. The menu has changed and now the weekday lunch set is $ 22++ for a 2 course meal(burgers/sandwich + dessert/starter). They also have a Build Your Own Burger(BYOB) where you can choose your choice of meat(wagyu beef, chicken or fish) and toppings and sides(max of $ 6 in lunch set, additional will be charged accordingly). This is similar to &made where you can select your what you want in your burger. I must say I much prefer the old menu where I am not given too much choices for easier selection. I like the wings here even though it is not like what I would get in Canada. The burger is juicy and beefy, just the way I like it. I had it with baconnaise(slight bacon taste in mayo) and sauteed mushrooms(juicy) with coleslaw(not tangy enough) and onion rings(oily). The Philly cheese steak was also yummy even though it was a slab of beef and not thinly sliced as stated in menu. The ciabatta was a nice touch, giving it a bit of chewy bite to it. The desserts are always good — smore ice cream cake, brownie with ice cream, sticky date pudding with ice cream. See the trend? Maybe I just like the ice cream. Hahahaha. I tried the warm chocolate filled donuts with ice cream. This was not as good as others, the donut was too doughy to pull apart easily and there could be more chocolate filling in it. I could barely taste the cinnamon sugar, actually I don’t even know if I did taste it at all. The chef must be having an «off» day as our orders were pretty much wrong, likewise for the server as our bill was also wrong. The kitchen forgot our sides, and the philly cheese steak beef was not thinly sliced as stated in menu, the bill showed extra charges for the forgotten sides. But generally the service and food are good, with no major issue, so this is a minor blip in my book.

i wanted to complete the terminator challenge before writing this review but roadhouse is already celebrating it’s 3rd anniversary and this review is way overdue! so what happened to my bid for the terminator wall of fame? it’s not you wagyu, it’s the frightening floor of fries that you sit on that made me chicken out! maybe i will just pay for it, sit there the whole day finishing it, instead of trying to wolf it all down in 20 mins for free? i think they have come a long way since they first started. their menus have evolved, been twigged and streamlined to a certain extent. i remember speaking to one of the owners/partners in the early days and what he wanted was to serve food he loves to eat! and on one of those early menu was a pizza that was topped of with a generous sprinkle of crispy lard! Score, but not on the menu no more!:( when i think of roadhouse, i think man vs food or DDD. the holy grill of josper takes centre stage in this theatre of dreams for american comfort food. you too can have one at home for around $ 30k! but why not come here to enjoy what an indoor BBQ taste like but sans smell. the 300 degrees celsius charcoal brands the grill marks nicely and cooks the victims swiftly without discrimination. with the moisture well retained within this oven/grill, your food remains juicy when arriving on your plate. they have added a BYOB, build your own burger, option for those who knows exactly what should go in their burger. breakfast and brunch menu is also available on weekends from 9am-4pm. think venue for UYE brunch?! kid’s menu at $ 12++ for a main, drink and dessert seems designed to draw families in. free wifi is also available for your social media needs, do approach a friendly staff for your password to addiction!

I had friends try the kilo burger challenge and it was both hilarious and disgusting to watch. They failed pretty badly. I had a regular cheese burger and truffle fries. Honestly it was pretty good, but way too small and pricey for what you get.

Was craving something comforting after a recent heartbreak and this suited the bill. This was my second visit, the first one being something like 2 years ago and I can’t remember what I thought of it then. We were here on a monday night and there was a huge group of guys making their way through the epic terminator burger, with 6 wagyu patties and a sea of fries. Apparently if you finish that monster in ?20 minutes you get a free meal and a photo on the wall of glory… Had the Butt Naked Baby, which was a beef patty(I picked medium rare) swimming in cheese/beef ragu/sour cream, and served with nachos. Not exactly a burger but it was good! Enjoyed it more than the usual Mexican-type meal. :D Though having a large chunk of guacamole would be nice. My dining companion had the Bacon Marinated and said that it was one of the better burgers that he’s had as well. The place seemed a bit short-staffed — had to wave for quite a while to get the attention of the 2 waiters who were in the dining area for water, orders and paying the bill. But when you got their attention, service was good and the staff generally pleasant. This goes on my list of places to return to whenever I’m craving a burger that isn’t MacDonalds!

Extremely noisy room so loud it’s difficult to hear each other. The food was acceptable, but definitely not worth a trip out to Dempsey. We shared 2 different quesadillas and both were good. The $ 34 wagyu burger was good, cooked to the correct doneness, but too small and overpriced. The foie gras on top of my burger was a very small portion. The side of cole slaw was more of a garnish. All served on a cutting board with fries served vertically in a metal tin. All style, but little else. The experience was ruined by the sluggish, stumbling, robotic staff that couldn’t think outside of the box enough to make their customers happy. Three of us opted to upgrade our burgers’ fries to the truffle fries($ 2+). When we asked for the truffle mayo we thought came with our upgraded truffle fries, she denied the request saying that it wasn’t included. The menu is unclear The truffle mayo comes when you pay $ 2 to upgrade the Side of fries, but is not included when you pay $ 2 to upgrade the burger’s fries. There’s little or no logic in that. In any case — when you are paying $ 34 for a hamburger —(our bill was split $ 80 each) you would expect that they would instantly be more accommodating to a simple request. You could find better service in a McDonald’s. This problem was in addition to other issues: The 3 Burgers were delivered 5 minutes before the 3 other entrees(so we all had to wait), A beer order was forgotten. The fries were actually delivered with no truffle oil at all and then when we reminded her– they delivered a very small amount of oil in a ramikin that was enough for 1 of us, but not 3. Were we suppose to dip the fries in the oil? Bringing the oil in a dish was no solution at all. They should have delivered all new fries. The manager came and we told him to just strike the oil from the bill because we had already eaten half the fries — so his solution was to deliver extra oil — but still no truffle mayo. Probably the most frustrating part was having to communicate all of this in a room that was so noisy that you could barely even think. If things could not have gotten worse, half way through the meal, the manager got into a shouting match with the kitchen staff and then stormed out the front door of the restaurant. Yes. It really happened. The silence that came over the entire restaurant was actually a nice relief. I seriously mean that. We could not wait to be finished so we could leave. The Good: The flavorful meatloaf, burgers and quesadillas were all adequate. The Bad: Small overpriced burgers, small portions, robotic, unaccommodating, and unprofessional staff, extremely noisy and chaotic room. The Verdict: There were six in our party(split $ 80 each) and we unanimously agreed we would never go back. My personal opinion — it was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. I was embarrassed to have suggested this place to my friends. However enticing the online food photos may be, the reality of this restaurant is a nightmare.

With this menu, if the food was great, it would be an American’s comfort food paradise in Singapore. Unfortunately, this Roadhouse finds itself in the middle of the road and it’s pretty much all because of the food. I liked the room. While it is not as large as I expected, it is open and airy. The staff was relatively attentive but they did disappear for awhile. Once the food arrived, they pretty much disappeared. Another issue is that this restaurant appears to be in a partnership with the restaurant across the way(Hacienda). It appeared that some dishes were be taken from the Roadhouse to Hacienda and this created additional foot traffic. This was slightly distracting. The food, the food, if only the food had been great or, in some cases, even relatively good. My starter was the fried calamari. This was relatively an epic fail. It was barely edible. There was a nice spice in the breading. However, the calamari was very(and I mean very) rubbery. Plus, the breading was slightly undercooked. So, it was a tad mushy on the inside and simply slid off of the calamari. This left me eating rubbery calamari in one bite and undercooked breading in a separate bite. My friend had the crab cake. This was actually pretty good. She liked it. I tried it. I thouht it was good. If the remainder of the food had lived up to this, you would be reading a very different review. (i do not have a photo. the picture came out too dark.) Her main course was the beefy macaroni and cheese. This looked pretty good. For some reason, I did not even try it. This is probably because I was wrestling with my ribs. She ate most it and neither raved nor complained. I ordered the spare ribs. First, they were almost impossible to divide into individual ribs to eat. The cut of ribs was not a great cut. So, after trying to figure out the best way, I finally decided to flip them over to get a better look at the rib structure and do all the cutting at once. This was almost effective. However, with the combination of the fact I was not provided with a steak knife and the toughness of the ribs, this was an uphill battle. (i do not have a photo. the picture came out too dark.) I finally freed quite a bit of meat. The flavor lacked smoky depth. The meat was also very tough. It was a lot of work for very litte payoff. I only ate about half of the ribs. It is not often that I can not at least complete a meal. But, the quality of the food made it very difficult to attempt to finish. While the room is nice(in a comfort food sort of style) and the service was ok, the food just can not gain my recommendation.

(3.5 Stars) I’ve been to Roadhouse twice in the span of a month after finding this place. It’s now hands down my favourite burger place in Singapore in terms of food quality and service, and I’m putting it up there with the rest of my favourite burger places in the US like Spotted Pig, Shake Shack and In-N-Out. But it still has some issues that need to be resolved to be the best it can be. First meal there was over a month ago when Prive Grill won me over and I decided to take the rest of their restaurants seriously. I got the Bacon Marinated Burger which was served medium despite my request for medium rare. I did not want to wait all over again and decide to just run with it. I was impressed by the quality of the ingredients. It wasn’t the usual crap you get in most burger joints in SG: Josper grilled beef was fresh and the ground wasn’t too fine or coarse, buns had a bite and were flavourful, bacon thick enough to leave an impression and the Gorgonzola melded everything together in near perfection. Second meal recently, I decided to try something different since I can evaluate the consistency of the Bacon Marinated Burger from my companion order. This much is consistent — it was served medium again and this time, we got the kitchen to re-do it. Result was an improved juicier version of what I had. I got the Miso Cod Burger which seriously surprised me. It was fantastic! Fish was fresh and marinated just right. My only problem with this dish is when the miso glaze drips out onto the fries. The fries and the miso glaze don’t go well and that kind of sullied the experience. Okay, my problems with the place now. I feel this place can be A LOT better. I understand the tier branding strategy of Prive Group but that’s no excuse to serve food that can be of better quality. The Josper Grill was put to maximum effect in Prive Grill and the smokiness had so much depth in dishes that came from it, unlike that of Roadhouse in which the smoke was just like an afterthought or a marketing ploy. Another thing is the truffle dip for the fries. Why provide fries for the burgers without the dip and charge customers for it? If it’s going to be key to enhancing the entire experience, make it a part of the meal! Charge $ 2⁄3 more for the entire set but DON’T make us order it separately — it annoys me that the full experience is being held back. Take that step. Take Singapore from that gimmicky«international melting pot» into a real gastronomical hub of Asia. You’re already almost there.

If you like burgers, then you definitely have to give Roadhouse a visit. The burgers here come in portions that can satisfy a bear! If burgers are not really your thing, then you can try out the brunch they have here as well. It’s pretty much your standard brunch sets you can find anywhere else with an American twist. A good time to visit during weekdays would be during lunch as there aren’t a lot of crowds here. Most people seem to assume it will be packed and naturally forgo it, which is a mistake. The lunch deals they have are pretty affordable and will leave you stuffed till dinner!

Roadhouse was the choice for a casual brunch affair. Hearty and quintessential American food is what you can expect at this upmarket diner under The Privé Group. Roadhouse does a great lunch deal on weekdays from 11.30am — 2.30pm. You can go for a 2 course at $ 22 or a 3 course meal for $ 25. Take your pick from 4 Starters, 7 Mains and 4 Desserts which includes some of their chef recommendations. It’s quite a good deal and their portions are quite big as well. The burgers here are fantastic. We had the Forest Mushroom Burger– Josper-grilled wagyu patty with forest mushrooms, caramelized onions and shallot cream sauce. The famed Josper grill seals in the juices of the Wagyu Rump patties and gives it a nice char-grilled appearance and smoky aroma. The meat is just so flavorful and juicy and the blend of sauce and onions together with the natural flavors of the meat is just perfect. The light sweetness of the soft bun complements the savory centre. I must say it’s one of the best burgers i’ve had in Singapore. If you are up for it, go for the Terminator Challenge($ 58), which consists of 6 Wagyu patties, 6 slices of cheese, streaky bacon, jalapenos chillis and a home made bun. Finish the monster burger in 20mins, along with its sides, and you get a free meal plus have your face on their Hall of Fame! There’s no sharing with your friends even if you don’t finish it though. It’s quite a good deal considering that a single patty costs about $ 24. :)) Eat at your own risk or maybe have a friend who can administer CPR in case your heart goes into overdrive.

Roadhouse, in Dempsey is one of the relatively new joints in Dempsey. As the name suggests, very American influenced diner feel to both the interior and the food. Have been here a couple of times and each time have walked away both satisfied with all aspects of food and service. Must give the chop salad a special mention! I’m a sucker for a good chop salad, and roadhouses version is very very good. It really rivals Nancy’s chop salad at Mozza. Have a good selection of well-priced burgers too, all using great beef and given a good generous side of fries and coleslaw. Service is very friendly and informative, they really know their menu items which is a nice change from some of the experiences I’ve had in other restaurants in Singapore. Recommend this place for brunch too, one of the better valued brunches in Dempsey Hill, which is why they are often packed on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Highly recommend to anyone trying to decide on a restaurant for lunch or dinner in the Dempsey area.

Roadhouse was a stop on our hunt for the perfect burger, unfortunately it was just a-OK. Food: We went for the signature burger, i.e. the bacon marinated burger. Roadhouse had brought in a Josper grill which supposedly creates excellent burger patties since they combine charcoal and oven cooking in one unit. The bacon marinated burger was made up of a 170g wagyu patty, melted gorgonzola cheese, streaky bacon, caramelised onions, garlic mayonnaise and sauteed mushrooms with a homemade bun. From the combination of the ingredients, it sure sounded like the perfect burger. Unfortunately, the smokiness and taste of the beef didn’t really come through and somehow didn’t really hit the spot for us. The milkshakes too were just average, and the warm salted triple nut tart with vanilla ice cream was a tad too sweet. Ambience: Laidback American diner Service: Pretty decent
