My boyfriend picked this place because it was reported to be one of the«best places to propose marriage in Singapore». Well it was that and more. The service was impeccable. We were greeted upon our arrival. We had our requested private booth in the rear. We did the price fix menu. It was amazing. So delicious and fresh. Everything was incredible! The finale was a tableside presentation of Crepes Suzette upon which our lovely server wrote«will you marry me?». They helped my now fiancé every step of the way. After dinner we made our way outside to their lovely grounds. Everything was lite up and twinkling. So romantic. Highly recommend. We will go back when we return to Singapore from California!

Located in Demsey is the White Rabbit. It has a rather decent sized parking lot which is free of charge for customers. The White Rabbit is more of an upscale fine dining place you would take someone to celebrate a special meal with. It is also a beautifully restored 1930s Ebenezer chapel! The White Rabbit resides in a restored old chapel along the stretch of Dempsey Hill. The historical establishment itself is very captivating in creating a unique ‘Alice in Wonderland’ concept of The White Rabbit, attempting to bring you to another world. There’s a very cute outdoor dining area lined with lounge chairs. The staff explained that they were setting up a wedding the next door. I can definitely see this place being used for weddings. I am glad that they managed to preserve the stained glass from when this was a place of worship. The atmosphere in the chapel was peaceful and romantic with ceiling lights as well very powerful air conditioning systems. So much so, that they staff offered us ladies, scarves or even warm water instead of cold water. 1. Truffle Mac and Cheese with mushrooms $ 16++ Though this is an appetizer portion. It had alot of mac and cheese and thus, became very filling quickly. The amount of truffle added to the mac and cheese was very significant and you could smell and taste it. They were generous with the mushrooms as well! The texture of the cheese was warm enough to enjoy and yet stick all the macaroni together. There was also bread service. I picked tomato basil bread, and since the bread is all freshly baked in house. The bread was piping hot and extremely crisp to begin with. The provided butter melted immediately once I applied it into the bread. 2. Deconstructed Cheese Cake $ 18++ This was an interesting dessert. The wait staff asked me to mix up everything on the plate as there was graham crumble, blueberry sorbet and pop rocks all layered one on top of the other. The cream cheese wasn’t too sweet or sour. The pop rock popped in your mouth in every mouthful. It was definitely a surprise for me. I enjoyed that the graham crackers were crumbles instead of a hard crust, that you would find in any typical cheesecake. This way, you could enjoy the graham crackers bit by bit. 3. Chocolate Fondant $ 16++ The chocolate fondant consisted of a caramel core lava cake with fruits and banana and rum ice cream. The lava cake wasn’t moist on the exterior, but rather it was bread crust like. On the inside, was a small pocket of caramel that flowed out like liquid gold! The banana and rum ice cream was full of creamy goodness. I guess to compliment all the sweet stuff, all the fruits provided were sour? All in all, a very beautiful place to spend time with your loved ones. The food and the ambience are both top notch!

Firstly, 3 stars is an average of the overall experience at white rabbit. 4 stars — the food is delicious, however overpriced. the drinks are amazing, I highly recommend trying their gin and tonic, but be warned it’s displayed as a girly drink here. 1 star — the service for some reason is not top notch. after asking for a pen to help them divide the bill up exactly for those paying with credit cards, and giving the pen back, the guy asked for his pen back. It’s just a pen dude, come on. Even if I were to take it, what’s the big deal? I wouldn’t. It’s just a pen. 5 stars — the venue really is amazing. It’s just a shame the service can’t live up to the food and venue. I really wouldn’t mind paying more for food if the service was superb. I think that’s one thing Singapore needs to work on, the customer service. For some reason, they’re a little Chinese in the service sense where they won’t take the time to make sure the customer is satisfied. They just get things done and that’s it k thanks bye. No thank you.

I was very excited to have lunch at The White Rabbit. The setting is lovely. I went with several ladies for lunch on a Friday. The lunch set offers a two or a three course option. I chose the two course option. I started with the scallops. The scallops were absolute perfection. They were in a delicious sauce that was thick and rich. I should have ordered two orders of scallops and that probably would have been a perfect meal. I selected the pork belly as my main course. I was rather disappointed in it. It was fairly flavourless and way too fatty. The White Rabbit staff was attentive and kind. We had a large group and they did everything they could to accommodate us comfortably. I am not sure whether or not I will be back. I don’t feel like anything was amazing enough to draw me back. However, if you are in Singapore, I do recommend trying it, if nothing else for the lovely setting.

Although I had my doubts about coming here because of all the mixed reviews, I had a really enjoyable dinner! Service: Our waitress was very welcoming and our servers were very attentive. When they offered us complementary bread they even came back to ask if we wanted seconds. I really liked their TOMATOBASILBREAD which was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. The bits of tomato and basil reminded me of pizza bread. Food: TRUFFLEDMAC&CHEESEWITHMUSHROOM — highly recommend** We asked for it to be served as a starter and it was delicious! Probably my favorite dish of the night. ALASKANKINGCRABTAGLIATELLE — I ordered the appetizer size and the portion was pretty filling. I thought the dish itself was satisfactory. I liked how the sauce was light and the bits of crab made the dish more flavorful. Personally, I would have wanted more bits of crab but it probably wasn’t as much since I ordered the appetizer portion. The pasta was also a little harder than I would have personally liked. MUSHROOMRAVIOLI — I didn’t try it but my friend said she enjoyed it! Décor: It’s understandable as to why so many people compliment this restaurant. The interior décor is breathtaking! The abundance of candles and dim lighting makes for a very romantic atmosphere. The bar which is located outside on the patio(the rabbit hole) is also thoughtfully furnished. It’s a very cute area. At night, they light up their walkway leading to the bar which adds to the whole romantic vibe. Plus it’s also perfect for taking photos.

Typical brunch place. Their truffle Mac and cheese was absolutely heavenly. I’ve been meaning to eat here for a while, and I’m so glad we finally came here! It was most certainly an enjoyable experience. The place was really quiet, and quaint. Love the fact that it kept the original structure of the church! The boyfriend and I are thinking of hosting our reception here; only set back is that it seats 120pax max, which isn’t enough to hold all our guests!

Best meal I had in Singapore. All the dishes we ordered were mouth-watering and deliciously amazing. The ravioli melted in your mouth and the 36-hour Brandt short ribs were pleasing to my taste buds — perfect combination of crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. And can’t forget the dessert! We ordered the chocolate fondant and it was a great way to end our meal. The experience was simply amazing and I highly recommend this place. I will make sure to come back when I got back to Singapore. [TIP] Make sure you call in for a reservation and come hungry.

3 of us went there just for drinks at 7:30pm on the last Sunday of 2014 and had the whole bar area to ourselves. Very pleased to find Monkey47 on the list and it tasted as good as expected. Also had a glass of Havana 7 which was yummy! And had a Kiwi cocktail which was ok. Extra star is for the gorgeous church space. Finished our drinks and walked up the hill to JumboSeafood for dinner.

This is my first time at white rabbit. Heard allot about it and wanted to give it a try. We had the 4 course dinner. The location is great. At a chapel. Lighting and stain glass made this a very pretty restaurant. Unfortunately the chapel was also an echo chamber, so it was a very noisy environment and frankly spoilt the ambience. Not a great place for an intimate evening. They should install sound dampeners to sort it out. Service was attentive and very good. The food was also excellent. Taste and presentation was all superb. The goose liver came with apple, apple sauce, micro greens and a rich balsamic vinegar. Perfectly balanced to the rich liver. For mains we had the beef short rib that had been slow cooked for 36 hours. Fork tender and incredible flavor. A really good dish. Mother had the Dover sole. A decent choice, but it came slightly overcooked. Dessert was a deconstructed cheesecake and crêpe Suzette. The cheesecake was unusual. Not your typical heavy cake. The cheese was whipped and therefore very light. It came with a raspberry ice cream which went very well. The crêpe Suzette was also good, though it was a tad thick and as such had insufficient sauce. Nonetheless it was decent. Overall a very nice dinner. Cost wise, pricy but worth it. Recommended.

We had gone for the set lunch at the White Rabbit. As always, the place is enchanting because it was an old church. The stained coloured glass is always nice to stare at if you would like to avoid some conversation with whoever you are having a meal with. Hahaha The appetizer was nothing to shout out about as I had a salad printemps and a few of the rest had the salad nicoise. I had the pork collar, which I think was quite a fatty piece of meat. I wouldn’t recommend this to any of my girlfriends seriously. A few of us had the seabass that came in a pot and wrapped in plastic bag, which was interesting. I think they also say that the seabass taste good. The side dishes we have ordered, apart from the set lunch were good, especially the truffled mac and cheese. The portion was really tiny. A portion could serve 3 people, I believe. We also ordered grilled asparagus and fries which were average in my opinion. It is definitely a lovely ambience for a date night or even just a girls’ night out sort of place.

The food is not the best in Singapore but the place is just nice and cosy so I love bringing guests there. It is quite relaxed that you can enjoy a long meal with your friends while having decent food. I’ve been here for both brunch and dinner and their menu selection is quite ok. For lunch I had the lobster omelette which was a good serving of lobster and a side of truffle fries. Their truffles fries is served with some shaved truffles and not just sprinkled with truffle oil unlike other restaurants. For dessert, we had the bread pudding which was quite good but the serving was huge — good for at least 4 people. Lastly, there is ample parking…

I had the slow braised pork rib which was outstanding! The meat had great flavor and each bite literally melted in my mouth. I would order that dish over and over again. They also allowed us to bring a cake since it was my birthday dinner and they happily presented it to me at the end of our meal. The service was warm and attentive. The space is just as attractive at night… highly recommend for dinner.

possibly the most beautifully gorgeous place to brunch, lunch, or wine and dine in singapore. this is my first return to the white rabbit after a visit years ago, though not from lack of want. it’s as lovely as ever, with decent food and a wonderful ambience. prices aren’t cheap, but the cooking is acceptable — and really, you’re here for the overall experience, which they excel at. the brunch menu is small but serviceable, with easy egg dishes and more involved ones like potato rosti with smoked salmon. I particularly enjoyed the latter — smoked salmon can so often be more salt than flavor, but not here. it was served a sizeable portion, with a heartiness I normally only associate with hot-smoked salmon(which I love, incidentally). the steak with eggs was pretty good too, with our beef done perfectly medium rare and pink and topped with two perfectly done sunny-side-ups. but if you’re in the mood for something heartier, they also have a more lunch-type section with things like a proper beef burger(slightly over-minced(which leads to a mushier, less chunky patty, though still acceptable) and a salad nicoise with not-too-salty anchovies and colourful salad leaves. mind you, I say heartier in the sense of flavor rather than any indication of size. the portions here vary from small to reasonable, so don’t be expecting anything remotely close to belly-busting. we finished with the waffles, since their rather famous white chocolate soufflé wasn’t available — this is possibly the only dish I’d steer clear of, seeing as how it was both anemic and biscuit-like(these really should be contrary adjectives, seeing how the first indicates lack of cooking, and the latter indicates rather too much). the only saving grace were the tart berries and ice cream. go for the affogato instead, which has a scoop of great ice cream over a satisfyingly bitter shot of espresso. service is pretty hit-and-miss. we waited a goodly amount of time for our food to arrive, so the portions did seem paltry at arrival — but it’s otherwise friendly when you can get it. prices are commensurate with the venue rather than dish size, and so don’t expect anything cheap — but come at least to see the place, and bask in the whole posh brunchness of the place.

Certainly worth the trip. One of the better restaurant dining experiences I had while in Singapore, although I ate Hawker stands at least once a day. Incredibly cool and spotless space makes use of a converted church on an old army base. The dining area is spacious and the outdoor space is also very cool. The most white people I saw in one place at one time during my entire stay in this small island country. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. We had the tasting menu, alternating dishes and paired it with wines. I wouldn’t pair wines again, but I’d do that menu again no matter what was on it. Very good dishes not worth describing as they will certainly change by the time you get there. My only concern is for the bottom tier wait staff. They’re not good. A mixture of not understanding, and perhaps not being all that bright, they more than once left us hanging. Not an epic fail, as they have roaming managers who pick up the slack. Almost as though they know they need to keep a watchful eye on the floor staff. The managers themselves would be much better suited to act as point people with the tables, using the existing staff as food runners and support. Old school.

Restaurant is located in a very creative setting– former church in old British barracks in the super hot Dempsey area. The food is good, the service is great and the prices are very reasonable in general. I’ll be back for brunch!

Went there for New Year’s Eve Count down celebration. Plus 1. The restaurant is housed in a church house. Pretty cool. 2. The Party was held at the restaurant’s outdoor bar area. Nice area. 3. Had a photo booth for the event. Minus 1. There is limited parking space(so do come early) 2. The garden space was nicely decorated for the evening but they should definitely add more flooring or pavement if they wanted to add a sofa in the middle of the grass patch for guests to sit on. We had to walk across the muddy grass. 3. There’s tons of mosquitoes there and I didn’t notice till I got home that I had so many bites :( Service — Ok. Given that it was new years eve and they were all so busy(I think they deserve a pass even though we had our drinks cleared before we finished them and had to ask several times before we got our new ones)

Lovely ambiance in the old church building, I love the metalwork and stained glass décor. Brunch was decent, though not much in terms of choice. The Carbonara, English Fry Up and Poached eggs were quite good, wouldn’t bother with the Maine Lobster Omelette which was pretty disappointing though. For sweet stuff, you have to get the crêpe suzette(Grand Marnier and Crepes) just for the fact they they prepare it live right next to your table. The hot orange smell is delectable, and the final orangey-Marnier sauce goes with everything. Waffles are good and crispy too if a little dry as there’s not enough syrup. Beware of mosquitoes though, I got bites just walking over from my car!

First, I had made an error and made the reservation for the wrong evening. I know. I know. It isn’t easy to do but I did it. They did not have an issue and still seated us right away. Luckily, the restaurant was not packed that evening. The service was actually impeccable throughout the entire meal. It was professional. It was polite. It was timely. The servers were there when you needed them but they were not constantly interrupting the meal. The room is a very impressive and commanding room. The transformation from church to restaurant has really worked. If service and ambiance were the only factors, this would have been a four or even five star experience. In the end though, food is the primary factor. There were some weaknesses here. Unfortunately, the key one was with my main dish and it was quite severe. The Bread — I have to say the bread was amazing. I chose the baguette. My friend selected another type of roll. I loved mine. She loved hers. It left us begging for more and we were obliged. Burrata and Tomatoes — The burrata was creamy goodness. Unfortunately, the tomatoes were overly acidic and lacked any sweetness. Tagliatelle w Alaskan king crab, kombu — My friend ordered the tagliatelle. She really enjoyed it. First, she simply ate all of the crab. Then she ate the pasta. i thought she was going to lick the plate. Butler’s Steak — First, the steak in butler’s steak is basically roast beef. As we learn from our mothers, it isn’t hard to overcook it and end up with a very dry piece of meat. That is what happened with by butler’s steak at White Rabbit. I must also add; I love and I mean love bone marrow. But, there was just a «unique» flavor with the bone-marrow. In this case, unique does not mean enjoyable. At least, it wasn’t enjoyable to me. i did enjoy the vegetables. I basically just toughed my way through the main. If I ever return, I am going to share the Côte de Boeuf. with someone. It is sliced table side. it is 1 kilogram. It was served at a table adjacent to ours and it looked delicious. Overall, White Rabbit is an amazing space with extremely good service. But, I can not overlook the fact that my main course was difficult to eat. As for returning, I wouldn’t say definitely no. But there are so many other restaurants to try. In Singapore, for the most part, a restaurant only gets one shot to make an impression and get it right. (additional note: we took a walk around«the rabbit hole». this is the bar in back. it looked like a lovely spot to have a glass of wine or cocktail.)

I used to come here for lunch when I was working at Dempsey and the one thing I liked was that the place is usually empty during lunch. Parking is free for those who drive and there are lunch sets on offer that are really value for money. Also, the times I was dining there, I noticed a couple of people having business meetings as well, so you can consider that if you meet clients regularly. The food is pretty good and service is quite attentive as well.

I’m a little hazy on the details: I remember a warm spinach salad that was decent, a flurry of other appetisers that the table had to share, and then the huge mouth-watering grilled Wagyu Cote de Boeuf which, even when shared among four, seemed a daunting task. But I was most blown away by the chapel. It was resplendent with the setting sun shining lazily through the stained glass windows. Resting on the chapel seats, we felt like some reverence was demanded of us in such a beautiful scene. Would definitely love to visit again for date night with just the hubby.
