So I guess I’m not old enough to speak of this stall’s Tanglin Halt days but it has definitely earned a reputation as one of the best Western stalls in Clementi at least. Friends who live in the area speak fondly of the chicken cutlet and having eaten it countless of times over the years, I concur. It’s not always easy to find a seat as the hawker centre attracts a good mix of families, students from the many schools and tertiary institutions nearby and working adults during the lunch hour. Even the take-away line is pretty long sometimes, but it’s worth waiting for. The chicken cutlet is my favorite because of the home-made dipping sauce(a bit like BBQ sauce but not quite) and the crispiness yet not overly oily chicken. I don’t eat baked beans so the uncle generously gives more fries to make up for it(yay). Western food at hawker centres is usually overpriced but not here!

I usually do not eat Western food in hawker centres because the quality’s usually doubtful; either the fries are soggy or the chicken chop’s tasteless. But this one took me by surprise: the plate of chicken chop doesn’t look like much, but when you bite into it, the flavor of the homemade sauce really comes out. It goes very very well with the tender firmness of the chicken. The fries are crisply fried and not at all soggy; they’re not as good as Mcdonald’s fries but definitely no slouch at all. And all for a very reasonable price indeed. Do take note that they’re closed on Tuesdays, and they normally start operating from about 6pm onwards for dinner. I also tried their pork chop and chicken cutlet; while both weren’t as nice as the chicken chop, they’re still very decent. Be sure to try it, I’m positive you won’t be disappointed!
