Saboten Express is literally the smaller/mini version of Saboten. I’d say it’s a quarter of the price off of a similar dish than the regular Saboten, but the servings are also a quarter off as well. The Pork Loin Katsu that I ordered just felt a little smaller than I’m used too. In terms of taste, it’s arguably the same. However, the flaky crunchiness was not as apparent in the Express version. In short, the express version was a little more«soggy» than the regular version. The condiments were also limited relative to the regular Saboten. The Salad is usually served with two sauces: one more mayo like and the other more oil like(forgive me I don’t know the name of these sauces). However, at Saboten express, the mayo salad sauce was the only option. Secondly, at the regular Saboten, the salad servings is unlimited while the express version limits the customer to one bowl/serving. My favorite Saboten is the one located in Changi Airport — Terminal 1. I’m a consumer that is willing to pay the extra 25% for a perfectly cooked pork loin, so I clear prefer the regular Saboten. However, if you are budget conscious and don’t care about arguably a lower quality /not as perfectly cooked dish, then the Express version of Saboten may be right for you.
