one early morning, enroute to dropping off my car for servicing, this breakfast place made perfect sense in terms of timing and location. parking is a challenge but i could count my blessings today! to be sure you get a lot, try the multi storey carpark instead. there’s only one coffeeshop in this block and only one vegetarian stall, so you can’t miss it. in any case, it always has the longest queue. they are very systematic here. there’s an ordering lane and a collection lane. assembly line style. when you place your order, the order taker dishes out the carbo of your choice on the appropriate ware. the next station tops up with ingredients and the all important gravy. finally the QC station inspects and in my case told the previous station to top up more ingredients, as i ordered the $ 3 version, good job!!! after inspection, the packing-to-go will also take place here or in my case, i merely dug in. you can see they do it with love. from the aunty who rolls and wraps the fresh bean curd skins to the kitchen help at the back end, sweating it out, cooking. the wok hei on your carbo is distinct and the gravy coats each strand of my bee hoon with just the right amount of savoury lubrication. i could technically just eat their bee hoon and gravy but what fun is that without the colours and texture from all the other players that complete this dish? i can’t wait for my next car servicing!
